Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 208: Chapter 141: New Research: ’Heart of the Wolf’ Magic Potion Adjuvant!_3

He was confident because Su Ping himself hadn’t expected things to go so smoothly, far beyond his imagination.

In the past few days, mesmerized by operating the experimental machinery in the laboratory, Su Ping had concentrated almost all his energy on this.

Finally, through these instruments, he made further discoveries in his research on Wolf Tobacco.

He found that inside the Wolf Tobacco was an extremely special substance, which he named ’wolf excitement element.’

It was precisely because of the existence of this ’wolf excitement element’ that the smell of Wolf Tobacco was extremely pungent.

However, after purification and testing on lab mice and even some purchased Low-Level Pets, consuming this wolf excitement element induced no changes in other beasts.

It was only within the Cultivation of wolf-like Pet Beasts that, after ingesting it, the Wolf Pets became extremely excited.

This feeling, Su Ping found hard to describe.

It was like a heavy smoker who hadn’t smoked for three days finally getting a puff of a cigarette.

It was similar to the allure of catmint plants to cats and feline Pet Beasts, perhaps even greater.

After consuming the wolf excitement element, Wolf Pets became extremely excited.

But after the excitement came the price.

And this price was a decrease in their Realm, a weakening of their physical state.

So, this thing was actually quite pointless; no wonder no one researched it.

Su Ping surmised that the reason Wolf Tobacco was named as such could very well be this.

It had no effect on other types of Pet Beasts.

But for Wolf Pets, and possibly all canid Pet Beasts, it might have the effect of a hallucinogen or a stimulant.

Then, taking it in large amounts would lead to a decrease in the Pet Beast’s Realm.

That is, it did not possess a rapid addictive quality. Otherwise, this stuff could really get those Wolf Pets hooked easily.

But Su Ping’s train of thought in research was indeed faster than most people.

And more importantly, he had an edge.

Why did the perfected Heart of Woods Magic Potion, after the addition of Wolf Tobacco, not only allow the Forest Wolf to perfectly learn the Heart of Woods but also not result in a decrease in the Forest Wolf’s Realm, and might even lead to an improvement?

So, this raised two questions.

First, what other beneficial effects might there be for a Wolf Pet while in the excited state induced by the wolf excitement element, aside from causing a regression in its Realm?

Second, what kind of ingredients in the Heart of Woods Magic Potion’s formula perfectly combined with the wolf excitement element to eliminate the side effect of decreased Realm?

Once these two points were clarified, he could use these findings to uncover a whole new result.

If he didn’t have the laboratory, both processes would require a lot of experimentation and time.

But with the laboratory’s ’Pet Beast Comprehensive Health Monitor,’ it took just one night for Su Ping to solve the first problem.

He found that after taking the wolf excitement element, a Wolf Pet’s learning speed for Skills would improve.

However, this advantage seemed pointless and even initially disappointed Su Ping, who discovered it.

If that was all, requiring a long time and large amounts of wolf excitement element, then the high cost aside, it wasn’t very significant.

Immediately afterward, Su Ping discovered another special effect.

During the time of taking the wolf excitement element, the Wolf Pet’s glands were in a state of active secretion.

It allowed the Wolf Pet’s condition to be unprecedentedly good.

So, there was another effect: its absorption of Magic Potions and resources would be better!

Whether it’s resources or Magic Potions, Pet Beasts all have resistance and absorption effects.

The more often they are used, the more disappointing the effects naturally become.

However, the presence of this wolf excitement element could make a Wolf Pet, even under such conditions, reach a very high threshold for drug absorption.

So, Su Ping could almost be certain of the role of this Wolf Tobacco.

As long as he continued to find the balance point between the ingredients of Wolf Tobacco and the Heart of Woods Magic Potion.

Then, by mixing them, he could definitely create a brand-new Magic Potion.

This Magic Potion could help Wolf Pets absorb resources and enhance the effects of other precious resource Magic Potions, making their effects perfectly realized!

This was Su Ping’s discovery these days.

Of course, he was still missing that last step to completely finish the blending ratio.

But the final step wasn’t difficult at all.

With those instruments, he could try over and over again; after all, the main ingredient was Wolf Tobacco, which was everywhere.

As for the rest of the materials, none were particularly precious.

Unfortunately, in his current attempts, Su Ping had yet to find a way to make Pet Beasts regress using this method.

This left Su Ping slightly disappointed.

Therefore, his enthusiasm for researching Wolf Tobacco dropped significantly.

If this Wolf Tobacco could really be used to develop that auxiliary Magic Potion, it would be of great significance indeed. But it wouldn’t be of much help to me, nor did it have any potential for further research.

Thus, facing Dong Muyun’s expectant gaze, Su Ping didn’t hide anything. He nodded and said, ”An auxiliary potion that can help Wolf Pets absorb resources and other Magic Potions! However, it hasn’t been completely developed yet. I can’t promise anything about mass production and trials, but there’s definitely no issue for a Forest Wolf to use it. As for other wolves like Snow Wolf, Sand Wolf, and Flame Wolf, we’ll need further experiments to confirm their compatibility. Unfortunately, some of the experiments I envisioned didn’t succeed. So, for me, it’s considered a half-failure with no real significance. But if you’re interested in going into business together, once the formula is patented, our company can use it to make some extra money. As for the Magic Potion’s name, let’s call it Heart of the Wolf!”

An auxiliary potion for resource absorption and other Magic Potions?

A failed product, insignificant, to make some extra money?

Dong Muyun blinked, unable to tell if this brat was bragging or telling the truth.

Because what might be bragging for her could be the truth for Su Ping.

So, Dong Muyun thought for a moment and asked, ”If it’s researched successfully, what’s your estimate for the improvement in resource absorption efficiency, a percentage increase of how much?”

”Percentage increase?”

Su Ping gave her a strange look, then thought of the Forest Wolf that had accelerated its comprehension of Heart of Woods by consuming the Wolf Tobacco.

Even if it was made into a Magic Potion and its effects were reduced, the decrease shouldn’t be too much, right?

”I can’t promise too much, but an efficiency improvement of ten to twenty percent should still be possible!”

He rubbed his chin’s fuzzy stubble, giving a relatively conservative estimate.

Then he looked up and saw Dong Muyun’s expression, as if she’d seen a ghost.
