Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 218: Chapter 144: Su Ping is Kept? Company Established!_3

Su Ping was dumbfounded. He looked at Dong Muyun, who was flushed with excitement, a mix of indignation and exasperation filling him.

”What are you doing?!”

Dong Muyun looked at Su Ping, who resembled a bashful bride, and let out a hearty laugh. ”Why so shy, huh? Miss Qin isn’t here right now...”

”Pah! What does she have to do with this?”

Su Ping wiped the lipstick marks and saliva from his face with a look of disgust.

Dong Muyun didn’t seem to mind. She looked at Su Ping with sparkling eyes. ”When shall we establish the company? Tell me, how much of the shares do you want?”

Seeing the excited Dong Muyun, Su Ping had reason to suspect this woman had been waiting here for him.

”You tell me,” Su Ping said.

”Fifty percent, how about that? You provide the formula, and I’ll handle the initial investment, production, distribution channels, product stocking, raw materials, labor, premises, and all other issues!”

It had to be said, Dong Muyun wasn’t really being greedy. Fifty percent was just for Su Ping’s name and the Heart of the Wolf formula. However, with only the formula, he wouldn’t need to worry about any other aspects.

From a certain perspective, this was indeed a reliable offer. With such an arrangement, Su Ping could continue being a hands-off boss.

But... Su Ping pondered for a moment before saying, ”I want sixty percent!”

Seeing Dong Muyun slightly furrow her brow, as if about to speak, Su Ping added, ”You don’t need to say anything; I know what your concerns are. However, with your forty percent stake, you will still have full administrative control over the company, effectively wielding the managerial authority of all shares, including my sixty percent. The only difference is that you won’t receive dividends from my portion. Also, if I conduct further research and develop something marketable, the company will also handle its production.

”I won’t ask for additional equity then! Besides, with my influence, securing large orders from the Beast Master Association and the Breeder Association won’t require too much effort on your part!”

Hearing this, Dong Muyun pondered for a moment, then said with a sigh of resignation, ”With the effectiveness of Heart of the Wolf, there’s really no concern about sales channels...”

”Exactly,” Su Ping cut in. ”So, there’s no need to emphasize your contributions in that area. Besides, even if sales channels aren’t a concern, can you secure orders from the Legion?”

At this, Dong Muyun’s eyes lit up again. She stared intently at Su Ping. ”You have a way to sell Heart of the Wolf to the Legion?”

The Legion! They’re the real big spenders! Dong Muyun knew this better than anyone. Even if it meant slightly less profit per unit, the Legion lacked nothing: not material resources, not Pet Beasts, and certainly not special privileges. Establishing a partnership with the Legion would mean their fledgling company could firmly establish its footing in Jianghai, and even across the entire Dragon Nation! But this was incredibly difficult. She knew this all too well from past experiences. The Legion rarely collaborated with external organizations. Pet Beast breeding, resource allocation—the Legion had its own mature, self-contained system for all of it. It was incredibly difficult for outsiders to get involved. If Su Ping actually had such connections, then things would be different.

In truth, Su Ping wasn’t one hundred percent certain either. However, from recent events, he had gleaned some understanding of the situation. The Legion’s cultivation system was isolated from the outside world and entirely self-contained. This internal isolation had unfortunately led to severe corruption. Consequently, Dragon Nation had initiated reforms within the Legion, including outsourcing a portion of its cultivation needs. The recent Legion tournament was a direct result of these reforms.

Now, given the effectiveness of his Heart of the Wolf, there was no reason for the Legion to refuse, was there? After all, his relationship with Chief Lin of the War Wolf Alpha Division was still quite decent.

”I can’t guarantee it one hundred percent, but I’m reasonably confident. Is that acceptable?” Su Ping asked.

Forty percent of the shares... And she would still retain full administrative autonomy.

Dong Muyun nodded.

Su Ping’s promises: cooperation with the various Breeder and Beast Master Associations, a partnership with the Legion... And on top of that, his commitment regarding future inventions. Thinking it over, Dong Muyun suddenly realized that perhaps the most valuable condition of all was Su Ping’s commitment not to demand additional equity for any new research or inventions he developed that the company subsequently commercialized. That might just be the most crucial part. After all, how old was Su Ping really? To have achieved such a high standard of cultivation and made such astonishing discoveries at his young age... Who could possibly predict what he’d achieve in the future?

”Accepted! Completely accepted!” Dong Muyun immediately slung an arm around Su Ping’s shoulder and whispered in his ear, ”So, my dearest partner, how would you like me to thank you?”

Su Ping paid no attention to the woman whispering seductively beside his ear. He ran a hand over the car’s blood-red metallic interior and said, ”Didn’t I mention it earlier? Just get me one of these big toys. It’ll save you the trouble of always having to pick me up.”

Dong Muyun’s expression stiffened. Is my charm really less appealing than this cold, lifeless hunk of metal?

Instantly, all her earlier excitement vanished. She glared at Su Ping. ”What kind would you like?”

”Black. Black looks cool! But not solid black, of course...”

Su Ping didn’t mind Dong Muyun rolling her eyes at him. He recalled Su Anyong’s teachings: When negotiating an exchange of benefits with a woman, the greatest pitfall is allowing other feelings to interfere. Once a relationship takes a romantic turn, complications invariably arise. Smart women will leverage such a development to demand greater concessions. Therefore, at times like these, one must not be swayed. Even if one were to be swayed, they should choose a foolish, lovesick type. Of course, the same principle applies in reverse.
