Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 388: Biggest Factor

”Nathan won!”

The arena was still silent for a moment as they gradually snapped back to reality. Nathan had won.

”Uooohhh!”

”Nathan won!”

Selena and Sera grinned at each other. Both of them had a high-five as if they had expected it.

”This is insane.”

”I have goosebumps.”

”Nathan really defeated Alavenya.”

The people were cheering. This battle would definitely cause an uproar. After all, Nathan had fought Alavenya one by one. Anubis might help, but that was fair enough since the other party was a second-year student and her strength was among the top.

If it wasnʼt permitted, it would be a kind of bullying.

But with all his familiars going one versus one, it was clear that Nathan won not by some miracle. It was truly his own effort and strength.

Caroline was completely speechless. She stood up and applauded, but soon sat down again.

”Itʼs no wonder why he wants to wait for a week. This kind of strength is abnormal. He has a complete victory. We really have to reconsider our decision. Our offer is not enough to entice him. After all, what we want is his potential. The concerning part will be the association. They will most likely use all their money to get him.” Caroline bit her finger. ”What I should do to bring him to the club…”

Ricky, on the other hand, crossed his arms. ”I might have to rely on my father if I want to recruit him. I need something he canʼt refuse… but what is it…”

Flora glanced at Noelle. ”What do you think about this battle?”

”I doubt there will be other second-year students harassing him. And because of this reason, the Ashton family will realize the potential Nathan possesses. Even if they canʼt do anything to him, they will do their best to eliminate Selena. Itʼs going to be troublesome soon…” Noelle sighed.

”Indeed. The terrorists might also put a bigger bounty on him. He must be extremely careful in the meantime.”

Vivian was watching the battle while crossing her arms.

”Letʼs go back,” said Vivian as soon as Jason declared his victory.

”Youʼre not going to congratulate him?” Alisha asked.

”No. This is his moment. I can always congratulate him later. Just let him enjoy the glory first.” Vivian had a small smile on her face, proud of her disciple.

In fact, Alisha could see her hands twitching. ʼShe really wants to go there right away and shows how proud she is. But she is doing her best to restrain that impulse.ʼ

”To think the young master is this strong.” Silvania shook her head helplessly. ”Dispelling a barrier is shocking enough, but this is beyond that.”

”Giving him the world treeʼs root seems to be worth it. At least the dragon has fulfilled his role.” The dryad nodded in agreement.

”To think I would have the desire to get stronger at this age. I donʼt really want to lose to the young masterʼs familiars. At least, not so fast.” The druid shook his head helplessly.

It seemed the match had a lot of impact not only on the students but also on her familiars.

Nathan, of course, asked Anubis to heal Alavenya before going back.

The second-year and third-year students had the same thought. They didnʼt want to lose to Nathan.

Filia couldnʼt help but ask, ”Principal. What do you think is the biggest factor in this match? Is it his familiars? His shocking abilities? Did Alavenya perhaps underestimate him?”

Sullivan thought for a moment. ”From my perspective, there is one biggest factor in this match. We have finally seen how Nathan is able to manipulate his opponent.”

”Manipulate his opponent?” Filia tilted her head in confusion.

”Yes. By knowing the reason behind their match, Nathan was able to provoke her again and again. Acting tough caused her to doubt herself. There were simply too many attempts to control her mind and actions. As a result, the battle should have gone according to his plan… maybe 85% or 90% of the time.”

”So, we need to manipulate his opponent to be strong?”

”To put it simply, yes. However, a fight like this is complicated. For example, you can use a feint to trick your opponent, right? Thatʼs also another way of manipulation.

”What I really mean is that you should know your opponents. Think how they will respond if you do this and that. Nathanʼs fighting style revolves around that.”

”I see. Thank you for the explanation.” Filia raised two fingers. ”Before we close this, can I ask two more questions?”

”Sure.”

”The first question is… Why did Nathan not involve his familiars when fighting against her?”

Sullivan shook his head. ”You should acknowledge his power now, right? Well, you will do so if he wins, even with his familiars, but your feeling might be different now that he has won in such a way, correct?”

”Yes.”

”In the end, he is a unique summoner. No one has information about him. He can be weak or strong. However, this battle has just changed peopleʼs perspective. He is not only unique but also strong. I donʼt think I need to tell you what will happen after that…” Sullivan shrugged.

”I understand. Then, the second question. What do you think about Nathanʼs growth? He is abnormal, but we donʼt know a lot about him. Is a beast summoner growing much faster than us?”

”No.” Sullivan waved his hand. ”That canʼt be any more different from what Iʼve heard. Nathan has been swallowing thousands of cores, including tens of mature class cores. And Iʼm saying that these cores are from his achievement, whether itʼs due to the terrorist or anything. Itʼs something he gets by doing his best.

”So, his growth can be said to be slower than most people. Although he has those overpowered beasts, it doesnʼt change the fact that he has used every bit of his wisdom so that he can advance much faster than anyone else. The only way for people who work harder to beat a genius is to use their wisdom. Thatʼs all for today. Thank you for inviting me here.”

”Yes. Thank you so much for helping us understand the match better, Principal. Everyone, letʼs have a round of applause for our principal.”
