Global Lords: Starting with Halving Recruitment Costs

Chapter 58 Taken?

Chapter 58 Taken?
Guo Xiuwen’s goal at the beginning was to want a base camp or an arrow tower, but after seeing [Straight Road], he stopped looking at other things.

Because at least at this stage, the straight road is the most suitable for him.

One of the biggest advantages of establishing a territory in a forest is that the wood resources are almost unlimited, at least for now.

And although it was said that the forest’s rich food resources were reduced due to the invasion of the undead tribe, except for one day when he exhausted all the resources in his hand in the secret realm, he has not worried about food so far.

But there are gains and losses. The biggest problem in the forest is the road.

I don’t know if the undead who invaded the barren forest were also because there were almost no roads in the forest, so they ended up in the forest, corroding all the shrubs and rotten leaves on the surface, so that the soldiers could move.

But even if most of the grass and shrubs on the surface are cleared, the roads in the forest are definitely not easy to walk.

Especially in such an environment where dense forests block out the sun, walking is really tormenting.

In fact, as early as the first time the goblin led him forward, he discovered a problem.

That is because goblins are relatively weak in their own strength, so the paths they choose are actually relatively safe and easy to walk.

And many times, the road will inevitably encounter detours.

Guo Xiuwen has a small map on him.

However, the scale of the small map is not very precise. Many times when he is walking, when he finds that he has strayed, it is often far away.

Coupled with the giant trees blocking the way, many places had to be detoured.

Most of the time these days, he can only walk a short distance, so he spends most of his free time on the way back.

For example, the iron mine he found in the troll camp was because the distance was too far, so he asked the soldiers there to deliver the first day’s resources on the second day.

Such an approach will invisibly increase the risk of resource loss.

Moreover, after a resource point is attacked, it is often difficult to rush to support it.

Now there is a straight path that can increase the speed of movement. Even if there are arrow towers and elemental towers that are likely to be used in the next monster siege, he can only temporarily abandon them.

After all, looking at the resources needed to upgrade the next level of territory, he knows that this is not something that can be done in a short time.

Now that he decided to choose the straight road, he didn’t spend more time here.

Guo Xiuwen stood up, came to some places on the edge of the territory, stood on the back of the golden tiger and looked into the distance.

He has not forgotten that after the system reminded him to upgrade his territory, monsters would come to attack him.

But the reason why he didn’t take care of this matter immediately was because he was more curious about another matter.

That is, when he saw that the system’s seven-day protection period had not yet expired, he wondered whether this wave of wild monsters had a higher priority after the territory was upgraded, or the novice protection period of the territory had higher priority.

If the novice protection period of the territory has a higher priority, then the wild monsters that are about to attack outside naturally don’t matter.

Anyway, the opponent can’t enter the territory.

I don’t know if there is a conflict of rules. It has been nearly 10 minutes since the territory was upgraded, and there is still no change outside.

After thinking about it for a while, Guo Xiuwen arranged for a goblin to take the blueprint of the logging hut he had seized from the lord before, and planned to build another logging hut.

After all, after the territory was upgraded, the logging hut was included in the territory assets.

Although Meimei’s words were vague, but in conjunction with the territory panel, he suddenly gained some insight.

Since there are rewards even for building a tavern for the first time, and it is still such a strong reward.

So will you be the first to upgrade the territory, or will there be rewards for ranking after the trial is over?

As a street writer, although his brain hole is not too big, he will occasionally open it for a while.

When ordering the goblins to build a new logging hut, he himself was not idle, and first consumed the last twenty recruitment places in the goblin camp.

If he can withstand the attack tonight, it is obvious that he will need a full thirty men tomorrow for his new logging hut and crystal mine.

In addition, after the novice protection period, he will definitely destroy the lord’s territory discovered by him. At that time, there will still be iron ore and stone mines waiting to be mined, and the labor force will definitely be insufficient.

That being the case, of course he has to recruit more labor.

【Ding!Goblin camp is being upgraded.]

The resources needed to upgrade the Goblin Camp are the same as those required to upgrade the Gray Wolf Lair.

The resources needed to upgrade from the normal rank to the black iron rank are only 250 units.

Such a small amount of resources is not worth mentioning to him now.

Even if he still has the heart of the black iron lair, he may even choose to upgrade the goblin camp to the bronze rank again.

It’s a pity that after he destroyed the troll camp, the heart of the lair that burst out was of bronze rank.

A Bronze Lair Heart can be worth ten Black Iron Lair Hearts.

Now it’s not worthwhile for him to use it to upgrade a goblin camp.

Anyway, he didn’t like the fighting power of the goblins, so naturally he didn’t care even more.

He casually recruited 20 Goblins from the Black Iron Step, and then asked forty Goblins to pick up crude tools and start digging deep pits on the edge of the territory.

For this reason, he also specially selected the location and prepared to open a 30m x 30m, two-meter-deep earth pit.

Needless to say, the purpose of preparing this earth pit is to prepare for the placement of springs.

It stands to reason that the spring does not need to be so big. After all, the area of this deep pit is 900 square meters, which is larger than the territory of the ordinary level at the beginning.

Even after the upgrade, it still occupies 18% of the territory.

But don’t forget, he also has a special fish fry in his hand.

Yes, while arranging the spring, he was also planning to put the fry in it, and wanted to try to see if it could be cultivated in this way.

If he succeeds, he will not only have spring water, but also a source of food.

[Ding, your half-elf recruitment scroll has been sold, and the market charges a 10% handling fee. Your 4500 units of basic resources are stored in the market, please withdraw them as soon as possible! 】

Guo Xiuwen arranged for the goblin to dig a hole, but he displayed a fun half-elf archer recruitment scroll, and it was actually taken by someone at a high price of 5000 units of basic resources.

When he received the news, he was stunned for a moment.

You know, this is a full [-] units of basic resources.

According to the harvest of a basic resource mining workshop running at full capacity for a day, even if there is a 10% bonus, it will take 6 workshops to harvest for a day, and an additional 50 units of resources will be needed to harvest so much.

”Which prodigal son did this.”

Guo Xiuwen really felt that the other party was a prodigal. After all, even for a powerful individual like the Tiger, the recruitment price was only 500 units of basic resources.
