Chapter 1994: The Vampire Who Hides During the Day and Appears at Night

“That’s me.”

Shogawa Ishi said generously.

“I was sleepy while driving, so I didn’t hold the steering wheel properly and hit your boss’s car. I didn’t mean to.”

He sounded sincere, as if he already knew who Caie Mitsui was.

Everything in front of him seemed very logical, but it was precisely because of this that Lin Yi felt that something was wrong.

With Caie Mitsui’s status, Kenji Nakada would not let it go so easily if someone hit her car for no reason.

In other words, he would definitely call someone to secretly take care of this person called Shogawa Ishi.

However, looking at his current state, he seemed to be doing very well. Even when facing Lin Yi, he was very calm.

This attitude was a little strange.

After all, Kenji Nakada was not a kind person.

“Are you sure you were just sleepy?” Mina Ito said with a straight face.

“It happened around seven o’clock in the evening. I don’t think a normal person would be sleepy at that time.”

“You’re being too arbitrary. I’d been working for more than 20 hours at that time, so I was very tired when I was driving. I accidentally bumped into your boss’s car. I really didn’t do it on purpose. I’m willing to pay compensation, so please don’t interrogate me.”

Shogawa Ishi said innocently.

Ito Mina and Hide Kameda looked at Lin Yi. They didn’t know what to do next.

Although he was unwilling to believe Shogawa Ishi’s words, he could not find any evidence on his side and could not do anything to him.

“Since there’s no problem, let’s leave it at that. It’s just an ordinary accident. We can’t hold on to it.”

Mina Ito and Hide Kameda were surprised to hear Lin Yi’s words.

Shogawa Ishi looked at Lin Yi in disbelief.

He thought that the other party would not let him off easily, but he did not expect him to let him go without saying anything.

Lin Yi didn’t say anything else and turned to leave.

Seeing this scene, Mina Ito couldn’t say anything else. They could only follow Lin Yi out.

The three of them returned to the car. Mina Ito was puzzled by Lin Yi’s behavior.

“Mr. Lin, I would like to ask you a question.”

“Are you asking why I didn’t pursue this matter?”

Mina Ito nodded honestly. “Yes.”

“It’s been almost six hours since the incident. Caie Mitsui and Shogawa Ishi’s identities are worlds apart. However, you haven’t found out anything yet. It’ll probably be the same if you drag this out.”

“But we have other ways. We can use special methods to make him talk. With the Mitsui family’s influence, it’s not difficult to do this.”

Lin Yi shook his head. “It’s very difficult for you guys to do it.”

The two of them were very surprised, not understanding what Lin Yi meant.

Lin Yi kept scrolling through his phone and said calmly,

“According to the confession provided by the police, this person named Shogawa Ishi works in an arcade shop. From what I understand, there shouldn’t be any overtime in this job, so his testimony might be fake. Moreover, with his income, he shouldn’t be able to afford a Toyota Crown.”

“We know that. There must be something wrong with this person,” Mina Ito said.

“Even you think so. Hasn’t it occurred to you why he chose to make his move on the highway to the airport?”

“Because there aren’t many cars there. It’d be very suitable for a fight.”

“No, you guys are too naive.” Lin Yi said.

“The reason why they chose to attack there is most likely because the Metropolitan Police Department is already under the opponent’s control. They would be able to control this matter the entire time. Do you understand what I mean?”

“Well…”

The two of them were stunned in their seats. They hadn’t thought about the possibility that Lin Yi had mentioned.

“Did Mr. Lin turn around and leave because of this?”

“Yes.” Lin Yi nodded.

“The longer we stay, the more information the other party will have. Otherwise, the Metropolitan Police Department will torture him to get Caie Mitsui’s favor. Look at how well he’s been living just now. Someone must be supporting him.”

Hearing Lin Yi’s analysis, the two of them realized how powerful this man in front of them was.

No wonder the president fell in love with her. He was really different.

“What do we do now? Are we going back just like that?”

“How is that possible?” Lin Yi said.

“I didn’t come all the way to Toyo for nothing.”

“What’s next?”

“The two of you get out of the car. When he comes out of the police station, just quietly capture him.” Lin Yi said.

“If the police can’t solve it, we’ll solve it ourselves. In Huaxia, this is called enforcing justice on behalf of the heavens.”

The two of them did not quite understand the meaning of enforcing justice on behalf of the heavens, but they knew that they only needed to capture Shogawa Ishi later.

After receiving Lin Yi’s order, the two of them left the car and disappeared into the shadows.

About half an hour later, Shogawa Ishi walked out of the police station.

What Lin Yi found interesting was that Shogawa Ishi stood at the door and stretched.

It was as if the place behind them was not a police station, but a bathing center.

After leaving the police station, Shogawa Ishi took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it up, and walked towards the parking lot.

As for what happened after that, Lin Yi didn’t pay attention.

With Mina Ito and Hide Kameda’s abilities, dealing with such a matter should be a small matter. Otherwise, they would not be worthy of being called Mitsui’s retainers.

Just as Lin Yi had expected, about twenty minutes later, the two of them returned to the car.

“Have you taken care of it?”

“We knocked him out and threw him in the trunk. We can find a private place to deal with him,” Kameda said.

“It’s getting late. Let’s get down to business.”

After an unknown period of time, Shogawa Ishi regained consciousness.

However, when he woke up, he realized that his hands and feet were bound and his movements were restricted.

The man and woman who had interrogated him just now were standing at the side.

Other than that, what frightened him the most was that he was at a construction site!

Although it was late at night, the machines were still roaring and working non-stop.

As for him, he was hanging from a concrete steel frame. It was impossible for him to move.

“What are you doing? Why did you bring me to such a place? This is too much. I’m going to lodge a complaint against you!”

Shogawa Ishi roared and struggled with all his might.

In the darkness, Lin Yi looked at Shogawa Ishi with a smile.

The full moon behind him reflected on his body like a vampire that lurked in the day and came out at night, cold and terrifying.

“You can complain all you want, but I can’t guarantee that you’ll have a chance to complain.”
