Chapter 1940: The Perfect Plan

Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

“The C-class serum was snatched from Black Snake. Is it possible that the people on the island have returned?”

Qiu Yuluo voiced her thoughts.

“That’s possible, but the probability is very low,” Lin Yi said.

“They called the Central Guards Brigade. This is undoubtedly a form of provocation. Even if Black Snake is one of the top 16 organizations on the blacklist, they would not be so bold.”

“Moreover, now that Song Jinmin has returned to the island, he will also pay attention to Black Snake’s movements. If the people on the island really returned, Song Jinmin would notice beforehand. He wouldn’t be so quiet.”

“But other than the Black Snake, no one else has a motive to do such a thing.”

“No!” Lin Yi said in a low voice.

“The makers of the serum!”

“Makers?”

Lin Yi nodded and said with a dark expression.

“The C-class serum is something that can change the world’s structure. Unless it’s a normal transaction, they won’t allow this thing to fall into the hands of others, especially an official organization like us. If we secretly develop it, then they might as well hang up their gloves.”

“So you’re saying that their goal is to bring the C-class serum back and stop our research and development progress!”

“That’s right!”

Lin Yi looked up at Qiu Yuluo. “What else did they say on the phone?”

Qiu Yuluo shook her head. “They only said that President Ji is in their hands and asked us to bring the C-class serum over. However, they will give us an hour to prepare before calling again.”

Mo Hongshan and Gao Chong listened quietly at the side. They felt that this matter had already exceeded the scope of their ability.

Ring ring ring!

Just as they were talking, Qiu Yuluo’s phone rang. It was a call from Liu Hong.

Qiu Yuluo turned on her phone. “The other party called. They’re on the Victoria Cruise Ship. They asked us to send someone over and exchange the serum with them, but we can only send one person.”

“One person!”

“Yes, the other party gave me the exact location. Around two in the morning, they will sail to a place 16 nautical miles away from Zhonghai. I will give you the address later.”

Qiu Yuluo frowned and subconsciously looked at Lin Yi before asking,

“What was the decision? Should I trade the C-class serum for her?”

On the other end of the line, Liu Hong was silent for a few seconds. He was a very smart person.

She could also guess the situation in Zhonghai and knew that Qiu Yuluo must be with Lin Yi.

As for the woman named Ji Qingyan, she held a pivotal position in Lin Yi’s heart.

If the C-class serum was not traded, it would cause significant psychological impact on Lin Yi and represent a substantial loss for the Central Guard Brigade.

If it was exchanged, the loss of the C-class serum would critically influence the future world order.

For Liu Hong, this was a very difficult decision.

“The C-class serum is crucial. If the hostages’ safety can be ensured, do not hand over the serum,” Liu Hong said, pausing before continuing. “If the situation becomes urgent, then exchange the serum, but your and the hostages’ safety must be guaranteed.”

“I understand.”

“Additionally, Lin Yi’s identity is somewhat special. The specific operational tasks will be carried out by you personally. If support is needed, call us immediately. I’ll inform the leaders at the Zhonghai garrison area. They will actively cooperate.”

“Got it.”

After hanging up, the conference room fell silent. Shortly after, Liu Hong sent over the exact coordinates.

Lin Yi said, “First, let’s check the departure and destination points of the Victoria Cruise Ship.”

“Alright, I’ll send this information back to the brigade.” Qiu Yuluo fiddled with her phone and sent all the relevant queries.

Then, she tossed her phone onto the table and looked at Lin Yi.

“We can deviate from the brigade’s rules and trade the serum for President Ji.”

Qiu Yuluo, having a closer relationship with Lin Yi, understood the importance of Ji Qingyan to him.

For this reason, she didn’t want to take any risks in this matter.

She was ready to disregard Liu Hong’s instructions.

“The current issue is, even if we send the serum, can we guarantee our safe return?” Lin Yi said.

“The fact that they dared to call the Central Guard Brigade shows that the brigade poses very little threat to them, so they don’t care about these few lives.”

Lin Yi’s concern was shared by Qiu Yuluo.

Indeed, this was a possibility.

“Now we can only rely on mutual deterrence. If something happens to us, they won’t survive either.”

“That’s all speculation. Given our identities, exchanging one for one is certainly not worthwhile,” Lin Yi said.

“Furthermore, regardless of the Victoria’s destination, it’s a cruise ship, meaning the passengers onboard are their hostages. If the Central Guard Brigade acts, this becomes an international incident.”

Pausing for a moment, Lin Yi continued.

“With their level of professionalism, no matter what measures we take, they could escape through the cracks. Threatening them isn’t practical.”

“So you’re saying, from the beginning, we’ve been set up and are at a huge disadvantage.”

“Yes. The thoroughness of this matter has exceeded my expectations.”

“In your current state, you can’t appear in any international events. I will go there myself.”

When speaking, Qiu Yuluo’s tone was filled with a hint of unquestionable judgment.

“It’s too dangerous for you to go alone.” Lin Yi said.

“You know who the other party is. If more people go over, President Ji’s safety won’t be guaranteed.”

“I’ll find a way to sneak in. Let’s split up.”

With that, Lin Yi turned to look at Mo Hongshan. “Brother Shan, can you help me prepare a set of diving equipment and electronic climbing equipment?”

“No problem. We have a brand new set here. I’ll get someone to bring it to you.” Mo Hongshan said.

“Other than that, do you need any other forms of firepower?”

“We don’t need it. That’s enough.”

Buzz buzz buzz!

At this moment, Qiu Yuluo’s phone rang. It was an internal email from Liu Hong.

“The Victoria cruise ship departs from Shianggang to Sunrise Land. There are about 1,300 tourists and staff on board.” Qiu Yuluo said seriously.

“However, I’ve taken a look. The address they chose is very tricky. It’s very close to the waters of Sunrise Land. Although it’s international waters, if there’s an accident and a firefight, the coast guard of Sunrise Land will definitely show up.”

Lin Yi nodded expressionlessly. “The plan is so detailed. I’m too curious about who the other party is.”
