Song Jiayu pulled Lin Yi in. She thought that her colleagues would stand up to welcome her, but she didn’t expect them to sit on their chairs without any reaction.

Moreover, their faces were not very good. All of them were expressionless, as if something had happened.

“What happened? Why do you all look like that?”

Lin Yi looked around and felt that the atmosphere was a little off.

Could it be because of him?

It couldn’t be.

Even though the discussion had been heated, everyone present fell silent when they faced Song Jiayu. They all looked at Zhang Shengjie, hoping that he would take the lead.

Putting away his phone, Zhang Shengjie took his foot off the table and dusted himself off. He looked at Song Jiayu and said,

“We have something to tell you.”

“Don’t make that face. Just get to the point. Is it that the contract didn’t go through, or is there not enough money?”

“Neither,” Zhang Shengjie said.

“We’ve decided to resign. Since everyone is here for the meeting today, it’s a good time to tell you.”

“You’re resigning?!”

Hearing this news, Song Jiayu’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“Why are you resigning? Wasn’t everything alright yesterday?”

“Don’t ask about the specific reason. Regardless, we don’t plan to work here anymore.”

“Manager Song, this is our resignation letter.”

The rest of the company walked over one by one and handed the resignation letter to Song Jiayu.

Lin Yi scratched his head, feeling that this was something novel.

He was just here to take a look around. He did not expect such a thing to happen.

However, it did not seem normal for so many people to resign at the same time.

“Zhang Shengjie, what is the meaning of this?” Song Jiayu questioned.

“I won’t talk about the others. They’re just employees of the company. You and I are the founders. Are you going to leave too? Do you not believe in the company’s bright future anymore? Don’t you want to achieve financial freedom?”

“With your abilities, I’m afraid it will be very difficult for me to achieve financial freedom here, so I’ve decided not to work with you.”

Song Jiayu’s face was cold. She didn’t expect such a thing to happen when the company started going downhill.

“Did someone from Blue Whale Technology come to poach you?” Song Jiayu asked coldly.

“I don’t think there’s a need for you to dwell on this matter. Let’s part on good terms. There’s no point in asking so many questions,” Zhang Shengjie said.

“This is not a business deal. Since you’ve thought it through, I won’t force you to stay. Pack your things and leave.”

“Bye-bye.”

Zhang Shengjie and the others left the company without hesitation.

Song Jiayu combed her hair and kicked the chair beside her.

“Those bustards!”

“Calm down,” Lin Yi said.

“This is a blessing in disguise. The company is going downhill. It’s beneficial for the company’s future development for you to change your staff now.”

“I’m not angry because they left. It must be Blue Whale Technology’s doing. I’m so angry!”

“Are they your competitor? But it sounds familiar.”

“They have an app under their name called ADHD, which is the fitness app with the highest daily active users on the app market. They came to me when we started achieving success, proposing an acquisition, but I refused. I suspect that their collective resignation this time is due to Blue Whale Technology’s interference behind the scenes.”

“Seeing how frantic and upset you are, I can foresee that your entrepreneurial journey will be difficult. In other words, you’re not cut out for entrepreneurship.”

“Why is that?”

“Because this is the norm in business. No one enjoys a smooth journey,” Lin Yi said.

“When someone took 400 billion to short Didi Chuxing under Lingyun Group, didn’t I face it all the same?”

“Do you really think this is child’s play? That everything will go as you imagine? If things were really that wonderful, there wouldn’t be so many people lining up on rooftops to jump.”

After hearing Lin Yi’s advice, Song Jiayu’s mood improved a lot.

Compared to his brother-in-law, what she had experienced was nothing.

“Got it, Brother-in-law. I’ll start hiring in the afternoon. I don’t believe that without him, I, Song Jiayu, won’t be able to support this company.”

Seeing that her state had improved, Lin Yi pulled a chair over and sat down at the conference table.

“Then don’t dawdle. I have other things to do this afternoon. Tell me about your company first.”

“Alright!”

With Lin Yi as her backing, Song Jiayu had a lot of confidence. She took her laptop and prepared to have Lin Yi come up with a plan.

“What’s going on? Why is everything gone?”

Song Jiayu’s exclamation alerted Lin Yi.

“What’s gone?”

“The core data and information within the company!”

Song Jiayu ran to the filing cabinet.

She realized that there was only some insignificant documents left inside.

The contracts with the various gyms and other technical agreements were all gone!

Song Jiayu was dumbfounded.

That was because the missing information was the foundation of the company!

They could hire more people if the staff left, but without the core information, the company could not continue.

“These damned fellows actually took all the information!”

“I told you they wouldn’t leave so properly. There must be something fishy going on. Looks like this is the problem,” Lin Yi said.

“Boohoo…”

Song Jiayu lay on the table and cried bitterly.

After working so hard for so long, it was all for nothing.

In the past, she had always heard from her cousin how cruel and sinister the market was. Now, she had finally experienced it. It did not go easy on her at all.

“What’s the point of crying? It’s better to jump off a building to end it once and for all. At least that will bring you some relief.”

“No matter what, I’m still your sister-in-law. How can you say things like that?” Song Jiayu said.

“A pretty girl is here crying. Can’t you say something nice?”

Lin Yi,

What kind of pretty girl would cry?

“Are you sure Blue Whale Technology is behind this?”

“It must be them. There’s no doubt about that,” Song Jiayu said.

“Zhang Shengjie is more technically inclined and not suited for seeking investments outside. Even if he has the technical skills, it doesn’t necessarily mean he can secure funding. It’s impossible for him to go it alone.”

“Looking at it this way, the situation becomes much clearer,” Lin Yi said.

“He must have taken your company’s core information to Blue Whale Technology in exchange for shares and status. His motive is quite clear.”

“Just by looking at him, you can tell he lacks foresight. If he had joined me in entrepreneurship, his future development would have been assured. Yet, he chose to defect, showing he doesn’t have much aspiration.”

“Instead of waiting for an uncertain future, it’s better to cash out in time. That way, he’ll have the first capital to start his own business.” Lin Yi said.

“I can tell you very clearly that over 90% of the well-known entrepreneurs you can name today started with capital that wasn’t clean. It’s both a normal and abnormal business logic. Once you’ve been in this circle long enough and met enough people, you’ll understand what I mean.”
