In a small auditorium in Zhonghai Normal University’s main building.

There were more than 200 men and women sitting inside. They were all new graduates from the year.

Zhao Qi and the other school leaders were also gathered here.

An internship wasn’t a big deal, but this was arranged by Lin Yi, so he naturally had to pay more attention to it.

“What is the school trying to do? They called us back early.”

“I heard it was about the internship, but the instructor didn’t reveal anything specific.”

“But there are so many people here at once. Which company can accept so many people?”

“1 checked just now. At least half of the people here have already found an internship position. Isn’t it a waste of time to call these people over?”

“I don’t know. Let’s see what Principal Zhao has to say later.”

While everyone was discussing, Lin Yi and Sugar walked in.

“Aiyaya, Teacher Lin is here!”

The people present were all fourth-year students. Although it had been some time since Lin Yi left his job, many girls still remembered his glorious deeds.

Back then, the incident of him beating up an international student had caused quite a stir. In a sense, it had changed the current state of education.

“All right, everyone, quiet down,” Sugar said into her microphone.

“I believe everyone already knows that the reason why we called you here is mainly because of the internship opportunity. However, I’ll let Teacher Lin tell everyone the specifics.”

Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!

The students applauded.

Ten seconds later, under Lin Yi’s signal, the applause subsided.

“I’ve contacted a county school in Yuhang City’s Dongsan County. They use a combined school model to merge both middle school and high school together. Now, there’s a shortage of teachers. Does anyone know about this?”

When they heard that it was an internship in the county, the enthusiasm of the students dropped sharply.

This was especially true for those who had found an internship unit in the city. They no longer wanted to listen.

They were pampered children. No one was willing to go to the county for an internship.

“Our family is from Yuhang City. I know this place.” A boy said.

“Dongsan County is a poor county. It’s said that the economy is very poor and the salary is very low. The average salary is only 2,000 yuan a month. It’s terrifying.”

“All!”

As soon as these words were spoken, the entire place was in an uproar.

“No way, is such a low salary still a thing in this era? It’s not even enough to buy a bag, right?”

“It’s really too little. I definitely don’t want to work in such a place.”

“But the problem is that we only have an undergraduate degree. It’s not from a 985 university, nor is it from a 211 university. Even the most ordinary elementary school in Zhonghai wouldn’t want us.”

“Although it’s hard to find a job now, it’s better than being a teacher for only 2,000 yuan a month. It’s not enough to support a family,” a boy said.

The students below the stage discussed animatedly. They were not very interested in such a job.

Even the students from ordinary families did not have any thoughts of returning to the counties.

They studied hard because they wanted to change their fate.

Now, they would never return to a poorer place.

“Alright, everyone, calm down.” Lin Yi smiled.

“Actually, the situation isn’t as bad as you think. The situation in Dongsan County has already improved. The salary for an internship is as high as 3,500 yuan a month. The salary for a full-time job won’t be low either.

“Moreover, in the future, the higher-ups will launch important plans. There will definitely be major moves and developments. Secondly, if everyone is willing to stay there and work for more than three years, they might be able to get a job. I feel like it’s pretty good compared to other opportunities.”

When they heard that there was a salary, intense discussions broke out below.

It was not bad if they could get 3,500 yuan a month for an internship.

If it was just an internship, they wouldn’t mind staying for a few months.

However, ultimately, a county town was a county town. It was incomparable to big cities in many aspects.

They didn’t want to stake their entire futures there.

“Actually, I think the offer is pretty good, at least there’s a formal position available. Given the current situation, even those with Ph.D.s and Master’s degrees are contract workers without formal positions. This offer is quite good.”

“How can you be so naive? Do you think formal positions are that easy to get? If Ph.D.s and Master’s holders can’t get formal positions, how can we, ordinary undergraduates from normal universities, possibly get them?”

“But Teacher Lin said that it’s possible to get it after working for more than three years.”

“You also said that it’s only a possibility of us getting a job. What if we don’t get it? Wouldn’t all those years of youth be wasted?”

“That’s also true. A formal position seems too far-fetched for us. This is probably just a way to lead us on.”

Lin Yi and the school leaders were not in a hurry to interrupt the students’ discussion.

This was a two-way street. He could not force their decision.

Ten minutes later, the discussion gradually subsided. Lin Yi held the microphone and said,

“Have you guys considered it? Can you tell me your thoughts? Is anyone willing to go over?”

No one below the stage said anything, as if they had no intention of expressing their stance.

Zhao Qi narrowed his eyes and looked at the students below the stage.

“This is an opportunity that Teacher Lin fought for with great difficulty. Why don’t you cherish it? Competition in society is so competitive. With your qualifications, it’s very difficult for you to get a job in any school. Don’t waste Teacher Lin’s painstaking efforts.”

“Principal Zhao, let the students choose for themselves. Don’t interfere with their thoughts.”

Lin Yi smiled at the students below. “Since nobody has anything to say, there’s no need to express your stance.”

“If any of you are considering taking the job offer, stand up now.”

The people below the stage looked at each other. In the end, no one stood up.

Lin Yi shook his head helplessly, a little disappointed. He had put in so much effort, but it didn’t work at all.

It seemed that a place like Dongsan County was just not very attractive.

“These students are really disappointing,” Zhao Qi said.

“Why don’t we arrange for them to go for an internship first? At the very least, we can solve the problem at the school first. When their internship is over, new fourth-year students can replace them.”

“But changing teachers every year isn’t a good idea.”

Ring ring ring!

At this moment, Lin Yi’s phone rang. It was a call from Lu Yanmin.

The two of them talked for more than 20 minutes before hanging up.

“Principal Zhao, let’s leave it at that for now. If the students are unwilling to go over, let’s not force them.”

“But the problem with the school hasn’t been resolved yet. We still have to think of a solution.”

Lin Yi smiled. “The problem over there has been resolved. It shouldn’t be a big problem for the time being..”
