Global Cataclysm: Starting with a 1000-acre survival base

Chapter 1 The Age of Catastrophe

”The news is now broadcasting that the Ningcheng Survival Base suffered from a geological lava disaster, and a large amount of magma poured into the Ningcheng Survival Base, causing 620 deaths, more than 8 missing, and more than 13 injuries. We now appeal to all The Survival Base is actively donating supplies...”

”The Guicheng Survival Base was attacked by alien beasts. The north wall of the base collapsed. The number of victims has now risen to 450.”

”The Yuecheng Survival Base was hit by an extremely freezing cold current, and two thousand two hundred and sixty three people were killed.”

……

Su Yuan was driving a big truck, listening to the radio, couldn’t help cursing:
”Master, why did I travel to the era of catastrophe!”

Seven days ago, Su Yuan traveled to this world parallel to Blue Star. This place entered the era of catastrophe a year ago. The living environment is very harsh and supplies are extremely scarce. Everyone lives in a survival base.

Of course, rich people can build their own private survival bases and enjoy king-like treatment.

Like Su Yuan, he risked his life to deliver supplies to various survival bases every day, so he could have enough to eat.

But in the survival base, the hard work of 996 every week has to squeeze the head, and it takes a lot of effort to get it.

Otherwise, you can only eat subsistence allowances, a bowl of porridge every day, and living is more painful than dying.

Su Yuan finished delivering the goods and was on his way back to Company T, so he didn’t dare to drive too fast.

Because of the cold snap last night, the potholed roads were covered with ice five to six centimeters thick.

His usual three-hour journey has not been completed in more than five hours today.

If he hadn’t returned to Company T’s survival base before dark, he would have to suffer the cold outside.

”God bless, the car must not break down!” Su Yuan thought to himself.

He remembered that one of his colleagues the day before yesterday left the car with him in the morning and didn’t come back at night.

In the end, he learned that his colleague was unlucky. He encountered an extreme cold current in broad daylight. He was driving at a speed of sixty or seventy horses, but was frozen on the road by the extreme cold current.

When the rescue arrived, the person had no vital signs, so he had to be buried on the spot.

After dark, the chance of encountering a cold snap is much greater than during the day.

Su Yuan drove the car nervously, looking ahead, the car slowly avoided the big potholes on the road.

Since entering the era of catastrophe, this four-lane road has never been built again.

Be very careful when running, the big trees on both sides of the road may fall down at any time, and the ground is uncertain when it will collapse.

If it wasn’t for having enough food and being able to take one day off a week, Su Yuan would never have come to work as a transport driver.

After driving for another half an hour, Su Yuan felt that today was going well. There was no danger along the way, and the car didn’t break down. After a while, he would be able to reach the survival base.

However, before Su Yuan could be happy, he saw a big tree fell on the road in front of him.

This kind of thing can be encountered almost every time I go out of the car.

Su Yuan’s car also prepared equipment to deal with unexpected accidents.

He stopped the car, put on the mechanical exoskeleton, took the chainsaw, walked up to the big tree, saw off the branches of the big tree, and cut the trunk into pieces.

Then he picked up a tree trunk weighing two to three hundred kilograms and threw it to the side of the road.

Because of the mechanical exoskeleton, Su Yuan can easily lift things weighing more than 500 kilograms, so it doesn’t take much effort.

After going back and forth like this a few times, Su Yuan finished clearing the big tree and returned to the car, and several wolf howls rang out in his ears.

Su Yuan hurriedly raised his head and looked out of the windshield. Two large jackals stopped in front of the truck, grinning and growling at him.

”Alien beast?”

Su Yuan looked at the jackal in surprise. The jackal has the body of a wolf and the mouth of a fox. This is the first time he has seen a wolf bigger than a tiger, and it is also the first time he has seen a strange beast after crossing.

Alien beasts are rapidly evolved from countless animals subjected to all kinds of extreme weather, and are still constantly alienating.

The jackals were obviously very hungry and wanted to eat him.

One of the jackals jumped directly at him, hitting the windshield of the truck heavily.

Even though the truck’s windshield was made of thickened bulletproof glass, it was hit by jackals with several cracks.

Su Yuan quickly started the truck and ran into the jackal.

The two jackals cunningly avoided the truck, and looking for another chance, jumped more than five meters high and jumped onto the roof of the cab, trying to use their sharp claws to tear off the steel plate on the roof of the cab.

Su Yuan was in a hurry, and stepped on the gas pedal to the bottom, trying to throw the two jackals off.

The truck was galloping on the uneven road, like driving a bouncy car, shaking very violently, it seemed that the truck was about to fall apart.

The two jackals stretched out their claws, which were sharper than knives, cut through the roof steel plate, and clung tightly to the roof, unwilling to be thrown off no matter what.

Su Yuan didn’t expect the alien beast to be so difficult to deal with, so he picked up the shotgun equipped by T company and fired two shots at the roof of the car.

Boom!

A jackal fell down with a whine.

Su Yuan had been a soldier before, so he was very flexible in his hands and feet. While driving, he used his ears to identify the position of the other jackal, and then he shot twice, and the other jackal also fell down.

Finally getting rid of the jackal, Su Yuan laughed, seeing the sharp turn ahead, stepped on the brakes hurriedly, and slowed down the speed of the truck.

However, the speed of the car was too fast, the brakes didn’t work at all, the wheels slipped on the ice, Su Yuan’s truck drifted directly into the sharp turn, rushed out of the road, and hit a big tree on the side of the road.

The huge force directly knocked down a big tree, and the truck fell to the ground.

The airbag popped out, saving Su Yuan’s life.

Su Yuan climbed out of the truck, except that the palm of his left hand was scratched and bled, there was no other injury.

On the palm of his left hand, there was a golden birthmark in the shape of a star river, which was burning hot after being covered in blood.

Seeing that the sun was about to set, Su Yuan didn’t care about it. There was an abnormality on his left hand, so he picked up the walkie-talkie and wanted to call for help.

But when I took out the walkie-talkie, I found that the walkie-talkie was also broken, and it was useless at all.

”It’s over! It’s over, it’s going to be dark soon, if I don’t go back to the survival base, I’m likely to freeze to death.”

Su Yuan didn’t want to sit still, so he climbed into the cab, took out the mechanical exoskeleton and shotgun, and ran to the survival base.

Because of wearing a mechanical exoskeleton, Su Yuan can run at a speed that can almost catch up with a bicycle.

But after running for a few minutes, I heard the jackal again.

Su Yuan looked behind him, the two jackals before were not dead, one was wounded in the leg, the other was wounded in the stomach, they chased after them again, and their speed was much faster than Su Yuan.

Knowing that he couldn’t escape, Su Yuan turned around and faced the jackal, aiming at the jackal with a shotgun.

The two jackals were very clever, and immediately separated and rushed towards Su Yuan.

Seeing that the two jackals ran within 15 meters, Su Yuan shot directly, aiming at the eyes of one jackal, killing him with one shot.

The other jackal took the opportunity to throw Su Yuan to the ground, and bit his neck.

Su Yuan quickly picked up the shotgun and pressed it firmly against the jackal’s mouth.

Although the jackal’s teeth were sharp, they kept gnawing on the barrel of the shotgun for a while.

Su Yuan looked for an opportunity, pulled out the dagger tied to his arm, stabbed the jackal in the eye, and strangled the jackal’s brain.

After killing the jackal, Su Yuan panted heavily. The physical strength of his body after transmigrating was still a bit weak. Even wearing a mechanical exoskeleton, it was still very difficult to deal with the alien beast jackal.

Fortunately, Su Yuan was a soldier, so his marksmanship and fighting skills are not weak.

Moreover, since Su Yuan learned of the existence of strange beasts, every time he got out of the car, he would tie a dagger to his arm and calf.

Otherwise, the two jackals would not be able to be killed with the shotgun equipped by T Company alone.

Su Yuan got up and prepared to go back to the base.

At this time, a mechanical and cold voice sounded in his mind.

”Ding, congratulations to the host for living in the era of catastrophe for 7 days, killing two alien beasts, successfully activating the survival base system, and opening the novice gift package!”
