Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 9

Chapter 9
He waved away the smoke and dust that filled the air, and then stepped into the interior of the mall through the messy debris.

Lin Ye entered the shop on one side, and just stepped into the door, but before he had time to see what was inside, a pistol suddenly appeared in front of him.

At this time, a woman in a black sweater got out from under the hanger.

Looking at those trembling hands, Lin Ye was worried for the girl: ”What’s that? Don’t be nervous, I’m here to save you!”

While speaking, he quietly sniffed the muzzle of the gun, but he didn’t smell a trace of gunpowder.

This pistol is just an out-of-ammo deterrent!
But just now he clearly heard gunshots coming from here.

Could it be that there are other people in this store or this shopping mall?

Through the messy hair on the forehead, the woman carefully looked at the equipment on Lin Ye’s body, and she tentatively said:

”Are you the owner of that shelter on the street?”

Unexpectedly, the first sentence she spoke was actually this question.

Lin Ye took a deep look at her, then nodded: ”Well, that’s right!”

After hearing the answer, the woman’s eyes trembled, and her emotions instantly became agitated.

She took a step closer with a gun and shouted at the top of her voice, ”You killed my companion! It was you!”

As Lin Ye thought, they were indeed the same group of people.

”Sorry, it’s not my problem, it’s your companions who didn’t manage their own hands!”

He spread his hands and replied, although his expression didn’t change, killing intent gradually appeared in his heart,
”If you put down the gun and talk properly, I might be able to take you into the shelter. There are enough supplies there. Not only can you take a nice hot bath, but you can also have a good sleep on the two-meter-wide bed!” ”

Before the words finished, Lin Ye stepped forward, pointed a gun at the gunpoint, and stood in front of the woman: ”What do you think?”

There was a smile in the corner of his eyes, but his eyes were calm, so deep that it made people’s backs shiver.

The woman’s eyes hesitated for a moment, then she lowered her head, not daring to look directly into his eyes.

She thought carefully for a moment, and suddenly felt that Lin Ye’s proposal was not bad.

My companion is already dead, so what’s the use of worrying about it anymore?
How to survive in the last days is the most important issue to consider now!
But just when she was about to say yes, a man with a flustered expression suddenly emerged from behind the cash register. He held his pistol tightly, pointed at Lin Ye and shouted:

”Put down the weapon in your hand!”

Seeing this situation, Lin Ye couldn’t help but frowned.

It’s not that he was frightened by this guy who appeared suddenly, but he sighed why he didn’t bear it for a few more minutes.

Lin Ye raised his hands high to show his surrender, and then said with a sneer, ”Brother, we can share resources, don’t do it so desperately!”

After hearing this, the man also grinned a few times, but there was a trace of morbid fanaticism in his eyes:

”Why share, kill you, don’t I have it all?”

”Brother Liu!” When the woman saw this, she shouted eagerly.

But the man didn’t listen to the dissuasion at all, and became even more angry:

”You fucking shut up for me, if I’m not here, wouldn’t you just go to the refuge with him!”

”Wait a minute, my surname is not Wang!” Lin Ye teased, but the smile on his face suddenly disappeared.

He looked at the man with trembling hands, and said indifferently, ”The 9mm Type 92 pistol is only used in the army. Where did you get it from?”

Hearing this, the man subconsciously looked at the pistol in his hand.

Taking advantage of this gap, Lin Ye quickly approached the woman next to him, lifted her hand holding the gun body, and pressed the magazine latch to disengage the magazine.

At the same time, the other hand followed closely, pulling the pistol sleeve to eject the bullets in the chamber.

The movement was done in one go, and it took less than a second.

And as he expected, there was not a single bullet in the gun. This woman was risking her life to cover up.

The man on the other side also reacted and pressed the trigger instantly, but Lin Ye was already hiding behind the woman.

Gunshots were heard both inside and outside the store.

The man was shot several times and fell straight to the ground, twitching and breathing his last breath.

And the woman’s chest was also splashed with a bunch of blood, her eyes widened, and she was speechless.

Lin Ye stood up straight again, picked up the shotgun on the ground, and fired several times in the direction of the cashier without aiming.

”bang”

There was a loud noise in the shop, and the wooden counter was smashed into pieces.

When the gunpowder smoke cleared, the man lying in the mess was completely lifeless.

And the woman beside Lin Ye’s body softened at this moment, and slowly fell to the ground, a dark red gradually spread on the black sweater.

The bullet entered her abdomen and pierced her right lung. She was afraid she wouldn’t live long.

Lin Ye squatted beside her, and said with regret:

”Why bother, if you two have a better attitude, I might, maybe, probably let you go to the shelter. Now that it’s like this, I’m very sorry...”

Before she finished speaking, the woman stopped breathing.

Lin Ye shook his head, turned around and looked at the frightened Qin Lie behind him, and said seriously: ”See, this is the end!”

Qin Lie put down the gun, wiped off the fine sweat from his forehead, and then nodded heavily.

The so-called not to die, will not die.

The two people lying on the ground obviously didn’t understand this truth.

Although this mess has been dealt with, the things behind it don’t seem to be so simple.

Lin Ye still doesn’t know why this group of people came here, not to mention there are so many zombies wandering on the road, isn’t this courting death?

He walked up to the bloody man, picked up the military Type 92 pistol that had fallen aside and observed it carefully.

In fact, in the doomsday catastrophe, it is not surprising that survivors can find guns.

After all, when troops fight zombies, there will inevitably be some casualties, and the equipment left on the battlefield will naturally be picked up by some lucky guys.

Lin Ye continued to grope around the man, hoping to find some other clues.

After a while, he found a map of Yancheng City from the man.

The map was half smashed, and the paper was soaked in blood, but even so, the simple marks on it could still be seen.

According to the information marked above, Lin Ye guessed that this group of people seemed to want to go deep into the urban area to search for supplies, and they came all the way to this place.

In addition, there is a place with several red circles painted repeatedly on the edge of the map, which is completely different from other crossed marks.

Is it their temporary shelter?

Lin Ye frowned, carefully inspecting the spot that was stained red with blood.

However, in the next second, he couldn’t help but gasped.

At the beginning, the crisis response team issued a combat map for each unit ordered to stop the zombies.

The map not only shows the stationing positions of various troops, but also the planned evacuation routes and subsequent missile bombing points.

Mainly for unified dispatch, and secondly, if a certain unit is in crisis, you can send the nearest brother unit to rescue.

And the one in Lin Ye’s hand is a battle map from a certain army.

The location marked with a circle in the map is a temporary stronghold established by the army, located in the southwest corner of Yancheng, mainly to prevent the spread of zombies in this direction.

But why do these survivors have this map?
According to the previously agreed time point, at this time, all the troops stationed in Yancheng should have withdrawn long ago.

Is it because the troops left in a hurry, so many things were not taken away in time?

This is obviously impossible. When the plan was first formulated, enough time was reserved for everyone.

Lin Ye put away the map, and his eyes fell on the Type 92 pistol beside him inadvertently.

He felt a little uneasy: Are these guns really picked up?
