Archean Eon Art

Chapter 399 Karmic Attack

In Meng Chuan’s sea of consciousness, his Essence Soul was a massive star.

After obtaining the Eon Sea Sect for nearly a month, he focused on comprehending and cultivating the Essence Soul Star. This was the strongest legacy he had obtained. Senior Fei Yu was an Essence Soul Eighth Tribulation Eminence. This legacy was limited by the River of Spacetime’s laws. Although Ancestral Master Archean Eon’s legacy was known as the number one legacy of humanity and very well-rounded, it wasn’t restricted by the laws of spacetime. Furthermore, Meng Chuan’s Essence Soul cultivation potential was ranked first in the Heart Sea Palace. He naturally put in a lot of effort into this aspect. He had now cultivated the second painting of the Essence Soul Star, making the massive star larger and heavier.

This legacy wasn’t very powerful when it came to killing enemies. In the early stages, it wasn’t even comparable to Essence Soul mystic techniques at the Fifth or Sixth Tribulation realm. Meng Chuan also cultivated the Magic Awl Forbidden Spell.

The Essence Soul Star was strong in two aspects. Firstly, the Essence Soul could cultivate on its own. The further one progressed, the greater the improvement. In the early stages, it didn’t help Meng Chuan much.

Secondly, it provided one’s Essence Soul a stable defense. After cultivating the Essence Soul Star, one’s Essence Soul would be extremely stable. Its defense would increase by more than ten-fold.

Just these two points alone were enough to make one supreme in the endless River of Spacetime.

Boom!

Meng Chuan’s Essence Soul was struck by a mysterious attack. It seemed to disintegrate his Essence Soul from within, destroying his Essence Soul.

This destructive force caused Meng Chuan’s consciousness to rumble, but his Essence Soul continued to spin slowly. It began attacking the destructive power within him.

Oh? Meng Chuan instantly regained consciousness. His Essence Soul remained intact. My body… Meng Chuan sensed the mysterious destructive force that was crazily destroying his body from within.

Meng Chuan’s body was ridiculously powerful! He could be said to be comparable to a Regis Godfiend with just his Blood Droplet realm body alone. His body was one of the strongest in the River of Spacetime. It was stronger than a Creation realm human’s body. Although the mysterious destructive power was terrifying, it only caused his organs and bones to rupture. Although the internal bleeding was bad, his body remained intact.

Even if it really crumbled, Meng Chuan would die because his Blood Droplet realm body could regenerate as long as not all of the particle worlds weren’t destroyed. Combine! Meng Chuan commanded with a thought.

He accelerated his body’s recovery speed as he resisted the internal attack.

This destructive force was like water without a source. As it spent its force, Meng Chuan’s body rapidly recovered.

Bam!

The door to the chamber shattered. Liu Qiyue —who was holding a bow and arrow— rushed in. She was filled with worry. “Ah Chuan.”

His consciousness had blurred from the attack, so Meng Chuan naturally couldn’t restrain his aura completely.

Liu Qiyue was worried when she felt his aura leak out due to the clash between his body’s defensive forces and the curse.

“It should be a karmic attack,” said Meng Chuan as the blood on his body vanished. His clothes turned clean.

In such a situation…

A karmic attack was the only possibility he could think of. His Seamless domain, electromagnetic domain, and various means had failed to detect it. Furthermore, the attack was strange; he couldn’t even find the caster. It was as though the attack had descended from the void. With Meng Chuan’s knowledge, he could only think of a karmic attack.

The Demon Realm.

Imperial Lord Starquix knelt in front of the black disc and prayed for nine days. He wrote the complete incantation and unleashed a terrifying curse. All of this required him to consume 100 years of his lifespan.

“Did it succeed?” Lady Blackmoon and Emperor Roc watched nervously from the side. Everything would be great if they succeeded.

Huh? Imperial Lord Starquix’s face flushed red.

A terrifying force surged into his body through the karmic connection.

Pfft.

A mouthful of blood spewed from his mouth as the terrifying force wreaked havoc in his body.

The curse was a double-edged sword. It was naturally best if he succeeded in killing the enemy. If he failed, he would suffer a terrifying backlash.

Impossible. Imperial Lord Starquix felt the backlash damaging his body and Essence Soul, but he remained calm. No matter how serious his injuries were, he was still in his lair back at the Demon Realm. He could slowly recover.

However, the curse had failed?

How can my curse fail when I targeted both his Essence Soul and body?” Even if one has a fifth-level Essence Soul, they need to have very strong willpower to withstand it. Even if they can withstand it, their Essence Soul will be severely injured, and their strength will be greatly reduced.

Human Godfiends generally have weak bodies, far weaker than us demons. Those Regis Godfiends definitely can’t withstand the curse with their bodies. Only a Creation Supremacy can withstand it with their body.

If one’s Essence Soul can’t withstand the curse, death is definite. Even if the Essence Soul withstands it, one’s Essence Soul will lose its roots when their body is destroyed. Due to this, the Essence Soul will be much weaker and will definitely be annihilated by the curse. So how did my curse fail when I targeted both his body and Essence Soul?

Logically speaking, all cultivation had its shortcomings.

It was very difficult to have no shortcomings in one’s technique and Essence Soul. Imperial Lord Starquix’s curse—sent into another world -cost him 100 years of his lifespan. Few human Regis Godfiends could withstand such a curse. However, Meng Chuan happened to have no shortcomings!

Meng Chuan was extremely talented when it came to cultivating his Essence Soul. He had obtained an Eighth Tribulation Eminence’s legacy, Essence Soul Star. It made his Essence Soul terrifyingly stable. His consciousness only blurred when the curse struck him. His Essence Soul remained undamaged.

Furthermore, he followed the Cosmos Body cultivation system. His Blood Droplet realm body was much stronger than that of fifth Firmament demon monarchs. His body and Essence Soul were both powerful!

“How did it go?” asked Lady Blackmoon and Emperor Roc immediately.

“I failed.” Imperial Lord Starquix shook his head and said, “His body and Essence Soul are very strong. I even suspect that this Meng Chuan is the reincarnation of some Creation Supremacy or has been possessed by one. How else can he be flawless at such a young age?”

“You failed?” Lady Blackmoon and Emperor Roc exchanged looks.

“Execute the assassination plan,” said Lady Blackmoon directly.

Emperor Roc nodded slightly before disappearing into thin air. Starquix’s face was pale as he weakly fell to the ground. He sighed and said, “I failed to kill a Regis Godfiend with the curse. The assassination has to succeed. Otherwise, it will be troublesome.”

“We will definitely succeed.” Blackmoon’s expression turned cold.

Inside the chamber

The chamber’s door had long been shattered. Liu Qiyue immediately said, “Ah Chuan, you suffered a karmic attack. You have to report this to Archean Mountain immediately.”

“I’ve already requested for help,” said Meng Chuan calmly. “I’ve learned about the demon sages’ intelligence and limits. A karmic attack is extremely difficult for demon sages. Among the many demon sages in the Demon Realm, only one demon sage, Demon Sage Thousand Cricket, has extremely high attainments in the aspect of karma. The other demon sages are very ordinary. Could it be that a demon sage has arrived in the human world and has recovered its strength as a demon sage?”

The curse was potent.

If Thousand Cricket only had the strength of a fifth Firmament demon monarch, the curse would’ve tickled Meng Chuan. It would pose no threat to him at all.

“It takes a long time for a demon sage to recover their strength after possession,” said Liu Qiyue. “Furthermore, I haven’t heard of Demon Sage Thousand Cricket coming to the human world.”

“Apart from Demon Sage Thousand Cricket, there are only the three demon Imperial Lords left,” said Meng Chuan.

Once one reached the Imperial Lord realm, one would typically know how to employ karmic attacks.

“A demon Imperial Lord attacked me across worlds?” muttered Meng Chuan softly. “They are the most likely culprits. It looks like the demons are anxious to get rid of me.”

“The fact that they attacked you means that your identity has been exposed,” said Liu Qiyue worriedly. “The demons might also know your location. Shouldn’t you hide?”

“Let’s discuss that when an Archean Mountain Supremacy arrives,” said Meng Chuan. “I can’t leave now. If I escape and the demons attack… How will you and Jiang State Capital’s 20 million people resist the demons?”

Liu Qiyue looked at her husband.

“Don’t worry. No demon monarch in the human world, including Demon Sage Nine Abyss, can scare me in a head-on battle,” said Meng Chuan.

Huh? Meng Chuan and Liu Qiyue sensed a terrifying aura appear above Jiang State Capital.
