Chapter 368 Thousand Cricket

The demons were becoming more and more disadvantaged in the war. If Demon Sage Thousand Cricket hadn’t possessed a demon monarch, Imperial Lord Starquix would’ve crushed him to dust. He could only suppress his anger when he saw that he had already possessed a third Firmament centipede demon monarch.

“Imperial Lord.” Thousand Cricket was extremely respectful. “Apart from being extremely skilled in the karmic lineage, I need at least the demonic powers of a fifth Firmament demon monarch. I’ve just possessed a third Firmament demon monarch, so if I were to enter the human world blindly, I wouldn’t be of any use. Instead, if I exit from a World Entrance, I will be easily exposed. I might be killed by the humans. Therefore, I plan on cultivating to reach the threshold of a fourth Firmament demon monarch before entering the human world. Once I enter the human world, I will immediately recover to the fourth Firmament. With a fourth Firmament demon monarch body and my technique realm, I can also unleash the strength of a Regis Godfiend. This way, it will be safer when I infiltrate the human world.”

Imperial Lord Starquix nodded slightly. Although Demon Sage Thousand Cricket was afraid of death, Imperial Lord Starquix agreed with his explanation.

“When can you go to the human world?” asked Imperial Lord Starquix. “I’ll be able to reach the fourth Firmament in a year. When I’m close to the threshold, I’ll immediately enter the human world. After that, I believe I’ll be able to recover to the fifth Firmament in five years,” said Thousand Cricket.

Imperial Lord Starquix frowned. “Too slow.”

“I’ve only just recently possessed this new body. My Essence Soul needs time to adapt to it,” explained Thousand Cricket in a low voice. More haste less speed. Even if he wanted to reach the fifth Firmament tomorrow, he still needed time.

“I’ll give you this bottle of Essence Spirit Sanguine Aura.” Imperial Lord Starquix flipped his hand and took out a black jade bottle. The jade bottle flew to Thousand Cricket’s side.

Thousand Cricket was overjoyed. Essence Spirit Sanguine Aura? After possession, the recovery of one’s strength was actually a process of fusing one’s Essence Soul and body. By constantly cultivating one’s body, one’s body and Essence Soul would become more compatible. Their strength would constantly increase, allowing them to recover to the demon sage level. Typically, their compatibility would exceed 99%. However, to achieve 100% compatibility, it was more unlikely than becoming a Tribulation Eminence. In the human world’s history, only a handful of Tribulation Eminences were born.

Nobody had ever been able to fuse their Essence Soul and body perfectly after possession.

The Essence Spirit Sanguine Aura was a treasure that could aid one’s cultivation after possessing a new body. It could enhance the compatibility between one’s body and Essence Soul. At the very least, the effects were very obvious before the compatibility reached 95%. It was beneficial because it allowed for one to quickly pass through the weak stages after possession.

“Thank you, Imperial Lord. I will definitely reach the fourth Firmament within half a year. I will definitely reach the fifth Firmament within two years,” said Thousand Cricket.

“Quickly head to the human world and find out who that mysterious Godfiend is,” said Imperial Lord Starquix coldly. “As long as we find out who he is, we can kill him.”

They had long prepared many contingencies.

They had to kill the Godfiend. That mysterious Godfiend was the greatest obstacle for the million demon monarchs in the human world. If he was still alive, he would obstruct the demon monarchs’ havoc wreaking.

“As long as I reach the fifth Firmament, I’ll cast the Karmic Blood Curse on multiple demon monarchs,” said Thousand Cricket confidently. “Unless that mysterious Godfiend doesn’t take action, I’ll be able to find out his identity through the Karmic Blood Curse as long as he continues to kill demon monarchs.” “Alright.” Imperial Lord Starquix nodded. “Apart from the Demon Star Scroll and defensive treasure that we gave you previously, if you can complete the mission successfully, we will reward you greatly. You can choose one of the Imperial Lord-level weapons in our demon treasury.”

“Yes.” Thousand Cricket was overjoyed.

Imperial Lord Starquix’s figure dissipated. The joy on Thousand Cricket’s face vanished as he calmly looked at the jade bottle containing the Essence Spirit Sanguine Aura. He thought to himself, My lifespan was very long. I had cultivated my karmic lineage to the peak of the Grotto-Heaven realm. I had a chance of becoming an Imperial Lord, but I was forced to possess a new body, severing my chances. Humph, I know that you are doing this for the treasures of the humans’ Seventh Tribulation Eminence, Ancestral Master Archean Eon.

No matter how many thoughts ran through his mind, Thousand Cricket had to endure it.

Imperial Lord Starquix and the others also understood that the Thousand Cricket could not escape their control for a long time.

Nearly a year and a half after Meng Chuan was ambushed, Demon Sage Thousand Cricket sneaked into the human world at night.

It was an inconspicuous World Entrance in the vast sea. It was too far away from land! The three human sects only sent an avian demon servant to monitor the entrance secretly. It was difficult for them to arrange enough manpower to intercept them. Unless demon monarchs entered en masse, the humans could only turn a blind eye.

Swoosh.

Thousand Cricket flew out of the World Entrance and stood above the vast sea, breathing in the human world’s air.

In the human world, I’ll deduce the heavenly secrets and divine the future. I might be the final winner. Thousand Cricket instantly entered the vast sea. The moment he entered, his body underwent changes as he rapidly transformed into a fourth Firmament demon monarch.

For ordinary demon monarchs, they had to enter seclusion—they couldn’t be disturbed – when attempting to break through to the fourth Firmament realm.

However, if one’s technique realm was ridiculously high…

For example, when Meng Chuan became a Marquis Godfiend, he had broken through during a life-and-death battle.

Thousand Cricket was a demon sage to begin with. This breakthrough was as easy as breathing for him.

March-a month after Thousand Cricket infiltrated the human world.

At noon, the sun was shining brightly.

Meng Chuan flew high in the sky and ended his underground reconnaissance for the day. Now, he only spent six hours a day carrying out a simple underground reconnaissance of the land beneath the three dynasties and the ocean. The efficiency was just too low. Even if he attacked with all his might, the number of demon monarchs he killed a year couldn’t match the number the demons sent in every year. The demon monarchs would hide far away from land. Other than the demon monarch attacks on cities once every two months, demon monarchs became a rare sight in the human world. Meng Chuan naturally spent more time cultivating.

A beard lathered was half shaved.

Only by reaching the Blood Droplet realm could he completely resolve the threat of the million demon monarchs.

My dad’s days are much more carefree now. Meng Chuan passed his father’s patrol area from high up in the sky.

He could see an inconspicuous wooden hut on a nameless mountain.

Meng Dajiang lived here. He had a tree demon servant as his companion. Now, demon monarchs rarely hunted mortals. They only discovered two to three demon monarchs every month. The demon monarchs were weak, so the avian demon servants could easily dispatch them. Meng Dajiang only took action once every month or two. He was indeed quite relaxed.

Swoosh.

Meng Chuan didn’t disturb his father as he flew back to Jiang State Capital.

His wife, Liu Qiyue, was happily preparing lunch. Meng Chuan only carried out underground reconnaissance for six hours a day. After finishing, he rushed back at noon and could spend more time as a couple together.

Oh? Meng Chuan landed in the courtyard and looked at his wife, who was busy cooking in the kitchen. He blinked in disbelief.

Liu Qiyue carried the wooden tray out of the kitchen. On the wooden tray were plates of dishes. She smiled at Meng Chuan and took the initiative to release her Essence Soul fluctuations.

Third-level Essence Soul? Meng Chuan looked at his wife excitedly.
