Archean Eon Art

Chapter 365 Mysterious Godfiend

Amidst the setting sun on an autumn day, Meng Chuan sat on the mountain peak and looked down at the vast land. He held an alcohol flask and drank happily.

Wonderful.

Meng Chuan threw the alcohol flask towards the sky, and it exploded in the distance. The alcohol splattered as the sunlight reflected off the alcohol, producing a myriad of colors.

After so many years, I’ve finally swept through the Great Zhou Dynasty’s entire underground. Meng Chuan felt a sense of accomplishment. Although he started sweeping through the Great Zhou Dynasty a long time ago, he had to start over again after one million demon monarchs invaded the human world! This was because the demon monarchs—whose numbers were several times more than before—had once again occupied the areas he had previously cleared. After refining the Bloodblade Disc, he had reached an unprecedented demon-slaying speed over the past few months. He had completely scanned and cleared the remaining areas. It’s broad daylight. I’m sitting here leisurely as I drink and enjoy the wind. How long has it been since I’ve been so extravagant? Meng Chuan found the sunlight very intoxicating.

For a long time, he spent most of the day investigating the land’s dark depths.

It’s time to report to the Supremacies. Meng Chuan stood up and disappeared into the horizon in a second.

Soon, the continuous mountain range of Archean Mountain appeared in front of him. Meng Chuan flew in and naturally didn’t encounter any obstruction. He directly went to Grotto-Heaven Pavilion to pay a visit to the Supremacy. “Supremacy.” Meng Chuan bowed. Li Guan sat in a pavilion, drinking tea as he smiled. “Meng Chuan, what’s the matter?”

Li Guan was very pleased that Meng Chuan had risen to prominence among the younger Godfiends. After all, he was close to the end of his lifespan. He had even tried his best to stall for time by entering a deep sleep. He looked forward to the appearance of a new powerful Godfiend. Only when one was born could he rest in peace. “I’ve already swept through the entire Great Zhou Dynasty,” said Meng Chuan. “Of course, it’s impossible for me not to miss out on any spots. However, there are definitely very few demon monarchs left in the Great Zhou Dynasty’s underground. It won’t pose a problem.”

“Good.” Li Guan’s eyes lit up.

“Then, do I help Two World Island and Black Sand Grotto-Heaven next?” asked Meng Chuan. There were still a large number of demon monarchs in other dominions, especially in Two World Island’s Great Yue Dynasty. It was well known for its numerous demon monarchs. He had investigated and slaughtered many demon monarchs in the Great Zhou Dynasty, so many had fled to the territories of the other dynasties.

Li Guan nodded. “We can help, but we have to inform them in advance. There’s no need to do good deeds secretly.”

Meng Chuan nodded.

“The calamity of a million demon monarchs affects our human foundation.” Li Guan looked at Meng Chuan. “What benefits do you want from helping them resolve such a huge calamity?”

“Benefits?” Meng Chuan was stunned.

“Of course,” said Li Guan with a smile. “Before this, when you weren’t good at underground reconnaissance, only King White Treasure was skilled at it. Black Sand Grotto-Heaven used this opportunity to make exorbitant requests of Archean Mountain and Two World Island.”

Meng Chuan fell silent and said, “I can’t think of anything regarding Two World Island, but I want to request something of Black Sand Grotto-Heaven.”

“You’re doing them a huge favor by resolving their troubles,” said Li Guan with a smile. “One million demon monarchs can threaten countless mortal lives and the lives of many Godfiends. They can shake a sect’s foundation. If you help without asking for benefits, what about the other Godfiends in the future? Will they not get any benefits? Even Two World Island and Black Sand Grotto-Heaven aren’t willing to owe you such a huge favor. If you don’t know what you want, Archean Mountain can help you put up the requests.”

Meng Chuan nodded. “I understand. I really don’t know what to get from Two World Island. I’ll leave it to the sect to decide. As for Black Sand Grotto-Heaven… I hope that they will let my mother, Bai Nianyun, come to the Great Zhou Dynasty and reunite with my father. They are to never be in the way of their reunion again.”

Meng Chuan had always yearned for his parents to reunite. He only had memories of his mother from before he was six years old. His mother had a gentle smile on her face as she taught him how to paint. She often appeared in his dreams when he was young.

Because of this, he diligently cultivated since he was young. He also vowed to exact revenge for his mother when he felt intense emotions. However, years after he became a Godfiend, he learned that his mother was still alive. She was a Grand Yin Holy Maiden of Black Sand Grotto-Heaven-Bai Nianyun.

Meng Chuan also knew that his father had always wanted to reunite with his mother, but he couldn’t do it due to his lack of strength. He hoped that Black Sand Grotto-Heaven would allow them to reunite on account of the debt of gratitude earned from slaying one million demon monarchs.

“This request isn’t difficult. I have a way to make them agree obediently,” said Li Guan. “But we can’t do it now. We have to delay it for a while.”

“Delay it?” Meng Chuan was puzzled. “Yes.” Li Guan nodded. “With your underground reconnaissance speed, the demons will definitely discover the matter when you enter the Great Yue Dynasty and slaughter demon monarchs. At that moment, if Bai Nianyun—who is the Holy Maiden of the Grand Yin Hall—suddenly reunites with your father, the demon’s will definitely put things together. The demons are pretty good at gathering intelligence.

“Also, a Grand Yin Holy Maiden has to be a virgin. If she gives up her status as a Holy Maiden and comes to our Great Zhou Dynasty to be with an ordinary Great Solar Godfiend, the demons will be puzzled. After a slight investigation, they will discover your parents secrets. The sect’s rules cannot be easily broken. It has been so many years since an exception was made. Why would Black Sand Grotto-Heaven suddenly make an exception? A Marquis Godfiend was sent to the Great Zhou Dynasty just like that to reunite with your father?”

“Furthermore, you’ll be killing demon monarchs in Two World Island and Black Sand Grotto-Heaven. Thus, it will be very normal for demons to suspect that Bai Nianyun and Meng Dajiang are related to the mysterious Godfiend,” said Li Guan. “For your safety, we have to delay the matter. Your safety involves the matter of one million demon monarchs and the entire war. We can’t take risks.”

“Yes,” said Meng Chuan respectfully. “There’s no need to delay it for too long,” said Li Guan. “Your father and mother aren’t old. With your cultivation speed, your parents will be reunited in ten years. Twenty years at maximum! Now, there are very few demon monarchs in the Great Zhou Dynasty. Although your father is a Patroller, the danger has greatly decreased due to the rarity of demon monarchs. Secondly, your father is strong enough. They can wait for ten to twenty years.”

Meng Chuan nodded. “Understood.”

He also understood what the Supremacy meant. He was waiting for him to become stronger until he no longer feared any demon ambush.

Ten years? Twenty years? I should cultivate diligently and become stronger as soon as possible.

Archean Mountain.

Li Guan, Qin Wu, and Luo Tang sat down and looked at Bai Yaoyue and Xu Yingwu.

“Congratulations,” said Xu Yingwu with a smile. “I heard that the mysterious Godfiend from Archean Mountain slaughtered so many demon monarchs that the demons laid an ambush. In the end, Qin Wu killed Patriarch Yellow Oscillate. This is the first demon sage we humans have killed since the war started.”

“It’s a demon sage whose body is still stuck at the fifth Firmament,” said Qin Wu with a smile. “It’s not worth mentioning.”

“Why did the three of you convene a gathering to meet Xu Yingwu and me?” asked the illusory Bai Yaoyue directly. “Our Archean Mountain Godfiend has already cleared the Great Zhou Dynasty’s underground,” said Li Guan. “Now, we can help your two sects resolve the demon monarchs in your respective territories.”

What?

Xu Yingwu revealed a look of excitement.

Bai Yaoyue had a complicated expression. How proud was she? However, Black Sand Grotto-Heaven had suffered huge losses under the threat of the million demon monarchs. Many patrolling Godfiends and Marquis Godfiends had died. How could she not be anxious? Although King White Treasure was good at underground reconnaissance, he could only kill 20,000 to 30,000 demon monarchs a year. One had to know that tens of thousands of demon monarchs would enter the human world every year.

It wasn’t of any use to the overall situation in the Black Sand Dynasty just by killing those few demon monarchs. The demon monarchs continued attacking their cities.

“If you have any requests, just tell us,” Xu Yingwu said sincerely. “I only hope that you can help Two World Island completely resolve the demon monarch disaster. Two World Island is truly out of solutions. Countless mortals die every day. Our Two World Island’s territory is too large. There are relatively few patrolling Godfiends. After so many deaths, the remaining patrolling Godfiends don’t dare to go too far from the cities. We can only let the demon monarchs hunt wantonly and watch as large numbers of mortals die every day. Many Godfiends are very aggrieved, but they have no choice. We really need help now.”

“Who is this mysterious Godfiend?” Bai Yaoyue asked. “What request does he have? As long as it doesn’t shake our sect’s foundation, my Black Sand Grotto-Heaven will satisfy him.”
