Archean Eon Art

Chapter 287 Preparation

The dark hall was filled with sumptuous food. Six demon monarchs, including Greater Demon Monarch Ravensnake, ate and drank as they chatted.

“The probability of us demons winning this battle is more than half. I just wonder if we will live,” said a white-browed wolf demon monarch as he drank.

“Who dares to disobey the orders of an Imperial Lord?” Greater Demon Monarch Blackcroc grinned and swallowed the roasted meat that was half the size of a human. He scoffed. “However, we are ultimately fourth Firmament demon monarchs. They will not easily send us to our deaths.” “This is an intact world, after all. This world has given birth to many Imperial Lords in the past.” Demon Monarch Red Fox chuckled and said, “From the demons’ point of view, it’s worth sacrificing more than half of the demons to occupy the human world. From the three Imperial Lords’ point of view, if we completely occupy the human world, the treasures left behind by human Imperial Lords will also fall into their hands. I believe the three of them place huge importance on the rich accumulation of history this world has.”

“However, the hard work falls on us,” said a demon monarch with a huge turtle shell in a deep voice. “We need to charge forward and fight humans to the death.”

“Don’t make it sound so nasty. If you were to contribute greatly, the Imperial Lords would definitely reward you greatly.” The rat demon monarch—the smallest demon monarch out of the six here—drank his alcohol happily.

The six demon monarchs were overlords in the Demon Realm. However, they had no choice but to join the fray obediently when the Imperial Lords ordered them to do so. The six of them were assigned to the same team.

“They’re here,” said Ravensnake softly. He looked at the hall entrance.

An envoy walked in. He smiled at the six demon monarchs in front of him, and with a token in hand, said, “Greater demon monarchs, the demon sage has ordered for you to set off immediately.”

Demon Monarch Ravensnake casually tossed the bone in his hand. He stood up with his large body and looked at the envoy with his vertical pupils. He cupped his hands slightly and bowed. “I will proceed with the demon sage’s orders.”

“I will proceed with the demon sage’s orders.” The other five greater demon monarchs stood up and bowed.

“Only Ravensnake knows about the mission details. You are not to divulge the information to other demon monarchs.” The envoy held the token and continued, “Ravensnake only needs to lead his team and set off. Once you arrive at your destination, wait for further orders.”

“Yes,” Ravensnake said in a low voice.

The envoy then left.

Ravensnake’s gaze swept past his five companions. “Everyone, it’s time to fight.”

“Time to go.”

“Let’s go.”

The five demon monarchs stood up, their eyes filled with ferocious killing intent. Although they were unhappy with the Imperial Lords’ coercion, they still carried out their orders. This was because they followed the law of the jungle from the moment they were born. The three Imperial Lords were the strongest in the Demon Realm, so they naturally had to obey their orders.

This group of demon monarchs had been released from a small grotto-heaven by Demon Sage Nine Abyss.

Deep underground, they journeyed to their destination carefully.

“Ravensnake, where are we going this time?”

“Which city are we attacking?”

The six of them traveled underground. An invisible black wind enveloped them as they constantly tunneled through the rock and soil, allowing them to maintain supersonic speeds.

“I can’t tell you anything. This is a rule set by the Imperial Lords.” Ravensnake shook his head and said in a low voice, “I don’t dare violate it. You will naturally know once we reach our destination in a few more hours.”

“We sure are being careful. We’re almost about to take action, but we still aren’t allowed to know our target,” said Red Fox with a chuckle.

“Of course we have to be careful. Humans received news of us gathering the moment the Imperial Lords summoned us. The Imperial Lords are afraid that information will be leaked again,” said the white-browed wolf demon monarch.

“Now that I think about it, it’s odd. The Imperial Lord secretly summoned us and isolated us from the outside world the moment we arrived. Even if there are traitors who wish to snitch on us, they shouldn’t be able to contact the outside world.” Blackcroc sighed. “But in the end, information still spread. Humans truly have mysterious means of gathering intelligence.”

“It’s a world that has given birth to Imperial Lords, after all. Their means are naturally impressive,” said the white-browed wolf demon monarch with a nod. However, his eyes turned colder.

They stealthily made their way to their destination underground. More than six hours later, they finally arrived at their destination after taking a slight detour.

“We’re here.”

It was noon. The sun was high up in the sky and shining brightly.

In a lush forest, the six greater demon monarchs emerged from the ground. The surroundings were void of people; nobody lived here.

“That’s it.” Ravensnake looked ahead. In front of him was a desolate city pass. The city pass was filled with weeds. There were three large words on the city pass gate-Clear Rain Pass.

“Clear Rain Pass?” Red Fox narrowed his eyes as he whispered, “This is one of the abandoned medium-sized city passes in the Great Zhou Dynasty. Weren’t we going to attack a city?”

“Are we going to attack an empty city?”

The other five demon monarchs looked at Ravensnake.

Ravensnake stared at Clear Rain Pass and said, “I believe everyone has guessed that this is Clear Rain Pass. There’s a stable medium-sized World Entrance here. Soon, a large number of ordinary demon monarchs will enter the human world! Human Godfiends are highly likely to appear to block them. Our mission… is to kill the human Godfiends and protect our ordinary demon monarchs as they enter.”

“Kill Godfiends?” The five demon monarchs looked at each other. The white-browed wolf demon monarch sensed a distant area.

In the barren wilderness.

At the peak of a solitary mountain, a long-haired man was seated in the lotus position. Suddenly, an illusory man appeared beside him.

“Zhao Yi.” Qin Wu looked at his beloved disciple with a gentle look in his eyes. He knew very well how much his disciple had sacrificed.

“Master,” said the illusory Zhao Yi reverently. “My fourth Firmament demon monarch team received an order. After traveling for more than six hours, we arrived outside Clear Rain Pass!”

“Arrived at Clear Rain Pass?” Qin Wu frowned. “What is your mission?”

“One million demon monarchs will exit various World Entrances across the world,” said the illusory Zhao Yi. “The demons guessed that humans might send Godfiends to intercept them. Our demon monarch team’s mission… is to kill the Godfiends. It’s very important to attack the large cities, but the demons have also placed great importance on protecting the ordinary demon monarchs as they enter the human world.”

Qin Wu nodded slightly.

“That’s all I know. I shall take my leave first.” The illusory figure bowed before dissipating“World Entrance, intercepting Godfiends?” Qin Wu muttered softly, “Seven hundred fourth Firmament demon monarchs. Six to a team. Less than 120 teams, but there are more than 200 medium-sized World Entrances in the world. Even if they intercept us, it’ll be impossible to kill all the Godfiends at the World Entrances.

“From the demons’ perspective, the fourth Firmament demon monarch’s main goal is to kill as many Marquis Godfiends as possible. Their secondary goal is to protect the ordinary demon monarchs as they enter the human world. The million-strong ordinary demon monarch army poses a greater threat to us. To the demons, that ordinary demon monarch army is disposable. One million demon monarchs will be born in just a few decades. I have to reinforce the forces at the World Entrances slightly.”

Qin Wu pondered the situation carefully. The embodiment he left at Archean Mountain informed Supremacies Li Guan and Luo Tang about the matter. Soon, he made some adjustments to their plan. At this point, there was no time to make any major adjustments. All the arrangements had been made.

Within a tiny, hidden grotto-heaven.

“The 112 teams have arrived at their destinations.” The black-robed figure stood by the side and smiled. “Our 23 fifth Firmament demon monarchs have long arrived. The other arrangements have been made. Everything is ready. Nine Abyss, can we attack now?”

Demon Sage Nine Abyss looked at the huge map that floated in midair. Many dots of light littered the map. Each light dot represented a greater demon monarch.

“Let’s begin!” Demon Sage Nine Abyss smiled. “North Sense, accompany me to watch the battle.”

The black-robed figure nodded slightly. “I hope that this battle will be a decisive victory.”
