Archean Eon Art

Chapter 253 A Decade Long Painting

Jiang State Capital, Meng Manor.

Meng Chuan brought Meng You and Meng An to Starmoon Lake’s Lake Heart Pavilion.

Ever since they learned of their parents’ true identities, Meng You and Meng An had often visited the residence with their parents. However, they only stayed in Lake Heart Pavillion. Meng Chuan and Liu Qiyue had others build this building in the middle of Starmoon Lake. Other than the couple, Meng Dajiang, Liu Yebai, the twins, and the two avian demon monarchs, nobody was allowed to approach it. Liu Qiyue used her phoenix flames to guide Earth Fire to a few hot springs, causing Lake Heart Pavillion to be shrouded in mist perennially. It made it difficult for others to see the people on the lake.

“Dad, we were wrong.” Meng You and Meng An obediently admitted their mistakes.

“What faults did you commit?” Meng Chuan asked indifferently. “After we found out about Junior Sister Ning’s matter, we should’ve immediately fled. We shouldn’t have involved ourselves,” replied Meng An obediently, “We should’ve reported the matter to Dad and Mom so that you can save Junior Sister Ning’s family.”

“However, since we’ve involved ourselves, others now know of our extraordinary background. Now, we are in danger of being exposed,” whispered Meng You. “Dad, you said that we had to keep our identities a secret so the demons wouldn’t target us.”

Meng Chuan didn’t flare up in anger when he saw how obedient his son and daughter were.

Whoosh.

Aunt Hui—the gray avian demon monarch that had taken human form-held a wooden tray. She walked over the water towards Lake Heart Pavilion.

“It’s good that you know your faults. In the future, you have to think twice before doing anything. Hurry up and have dinner,” shouted Meng Chuan.

“Yes, Dad.” Meng You and Meng An were overjoyed. They exchanged looks and left happily.

Meng Chuan stared at their backs.

It’s a good thing for young people to be hot-blooded. It’s not realistic to make them endure injustice all the time. Meng Chuan was cognizant of this fact.

Late at night. When his children were already fast asleep, Meng Chuan detected Liu Qiyue returning to Lake Heart Pavilion.

“How was it?” asked Meng Chuan. “I actually found something,” said Liu Qiyue in surprise. “There’s a brothel called Windsay Brothel. The Skydemon Sect uses it to gather intelligence.”

“Skydemon Sect?” Meng Chuan’s eyes lit up. “Investigate carefully.”

“The Skydemon Sect is very cunning. It’s probably very difficult to figure out anything else. However, we will definitely investigate this matter thoroughly. “Liu Qiyue nodded. “By the way, Uncle Hua left a demonic power mark on Wang Cong’s eight subordinates. When Uncle Hua went to capture them, those eight subordinates were still handling some of the Ning family’s artifacts. After they were arrested, I used the Bewitching Spell to investigate. As time was short, they didn’t leak this matter. These eight people do dirty work for Wang Cong and have committed heinous crimes. I executed them directly.”

Meng Chuan nodded.

Liu Qiyue was a Marquis Godfiend and had condensed an Essence Soul. It was very easy for her to control mortals with the Bewitching Spell. She added, “Only the Ning family of three and Wang Fanchou might expose You’er and An’er’s identities. The Ning family of three doesn’t know much about what happened. They only know that Wang Cong captured You’er and An’er. They don’t know about Wang Cong’s death. As for Wang Fanchou… he knows a lot more.”

Meng Chuan asked, “What do you plan on doing?” “The Ning family of three can be recruited and deployed inside Earth Net’s headquarters,” said Liu Qiyue. “Earth Net requires some mortals to do miscellaneous chores in the headquarters. Their family of three will stay there. Most of the mortals in Earth Net’s headquarters are forbidden from contacting the outside world to keep information confidential. They will stay there for five years.

“In five years, You’er and An’er will definitely have entered Archean Mountain. When that happens, the Ning family of three can leave as they wish. They will probably be more willing to stay in Earth Net’s headquarters. After all, they’ll have no worries when living there. We will also promise them that after five years, their house, store, money, and other things will still be theirs.”

Meng Chuan nodded. “What about Wang Fanchou?”

“Two ways.” Liu Qiyue said, “From the interrogation just now, the deceased Wang Cong conducted sordid businesses-ones stained with blood. Firstly, he thinks up all sorts of schemes to seize others’ assets. The Ning family was just one victim that had fallen to his schemes. If it weren’t for You’er and An’er’s intervention, not only would the Ning family’s assets be gone, they would also lose their lives.

“Secondly, he’s in the prostitution business, causing the deaths of many women. Third, he is also a broker. He sends women to befriend the descendants of various Godfiend family clans. Then, he uses the influence of these Godfiend family clan descendants to reap benefits. Therefore, this person is as You’er said-he commits heinous crimes! He has killed over 100 families and even more innocent women.”

“You’er and An’er did a good job killing him.” Meng Chuan also had killing intent.

“Wang Fanchou is his grandfather and his greatest backer. It’s impossible for Wang Cong to hide this from Wang Fanchou,” said Liu Qiyue. “Wang Fanchou turned a blind eye and kept protecting his grandson. Wang Fanchou can’t shirk off responsibility for these crimes.”

“So there are two ways to deal with him. It’s all fair. One, we shall document these crimes clearly and throw them in Cloud State’s Wang family’s face! The Wang family will probably have nothing to say. Even if Wang Fanchou didn’t directly participate in these crimes, he would still be sentenced to 50 years in jail for turning a blind eye to his grandson’s actions and protecting him. Locked in a Godfiend prison, he won’t be able to interact with the outside, so it’s naturally impossible for news to leak.” said Liu Qiyue. “However, from Archean Mountain’s standpoint, they prefer a guilty Godfiend to risk their lives and resist the demons, redeeming themselves. Therefore, my solution is to hire a Godfiend skilled with illusions to change Wang Fanchou’s memories. His false memories will remind him of the assassination attempt on our children, but he won’t remember seeing You’er, An’er, and Uncle Hua. In those memories, he would’ve only seen the two of us!”

“After changing his memories, he won’t know You’er and An’er’s appearances, so he can be safely sent to risk his life fighting the demons and redeem himself,” said Liu Qiyue. “I prefer the latter method.” Meng Chuan frowned. “It’s just that although Wang Fanchou hasn’t condensed an Essence Soul, he’s still a Godfiend. To change his memories… you need someone who has reached the Dao realm with illusions. Those Godfiends are now in Godfiend teams.”

“Ah Chuan, your illusions are also very potent. Can’t you do it?” Liu Qiyue asked.

“I can temporarily hide his memories, but I can’t change them completely.” Meng Chuan pondered and said, “Don’t worry. I’ve been reinforcing the various states for the past ten years. Archean Mountain will occasionally send me to other places as a reinforcement. I have close relationships with more than ten Illusion experts. Let me think about how to resolve this matter.”

From Meng Chuan and his wife’s perspective, they had to protect their children well. In the past ten years, Meng Chuan had caused too much damage to the demons.

The demons hated Meng Chuan to the core. They had attempted to assassinate him three times. Thankfully, Meng Chuan trained with the physical body cultivation system. Otherwise, he would have died long ago. This made Meng Chuan even more careful and cautious when protecting his children. Among the people he cared about, his son and daughter were still mortals. They were too weak.

The next day.

In Lake Heart Pavilion’s study, Meng Chuan was painting

This painting depicted his wife, son, and daughter. His wife was playing chess with Meng You, while his son, Meng An, was overjoyed after catching a big fish. Back then, his son shouted, “Dad, Dad, look! I caught a fish!” When Meng Chuan looked up, he found the scene very beautiful. He also knew that his son and daughter had grown up. In the future, they would go to Archean Mountain. The time they could spend together decreased slowly.

Such a scene was destined to become a memory. Hence, he depicted the scene in this painting. The seriousness could be seen in his wife and daughter’s eyes as they played chess. Under the sunlight, their hair was slightly yellowish, and everything was beautiful. His son was energetic and excited when he showed off his big fish. The way he looked at him, an attachment to his father…

Meng Chuan would never forget that scene.

He had worked on this painting for two months. At this moment, he was finally done painting

Meng Chuan felt his Essence Soul transform. Over the past ten years, he had painted a portrait of his wife every year, as well as many scenes he had seen during his rescues. At Archean Mountain, he had cultivated arduously all day, so his psyche wasn’t affected much. After becoming a guardian that rescued others, his emotions were stirred a lot more. Oh? Meng Chuan sensed the changes in his Essence Soul. I’m finally breaking through?
