Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 177: Hidden BodyguardChapter 177: Hidden Bodyguard
”This can’t really be the tomb of an ancient emperor, and someone is trying to resurrect the corpse without decaying...”

Because the series of things he encountered were too outrageous, Russell made some deductions and came to a conclusion that was somewhat outrageous.

However, now is obviously not the right time to think deeply about this issue.

After all, as the tomb beetle moved, the three members of the team were still following its insect legs up and down. If it swayed for a while longer, they might really vomit.

”Let’s think about how to escape first!”

Although the mausoleum beetle has no intention of attacking them, it is not a problem to hang around on the insect’s legs like this.

Among the three pet beasts, only Ayou has the ability to fly.

However, for a pet beast like the UFO Hawkmoth, which is small in size and specializes in energy attacks, even if it grows to an intermediate level, it is difficult to fly with people.

Relying on Daolang’s half-assed gliding ability, if he brought another person with him, he might be thrown to the ground and eat shit together.

A pet beast can still withstand a fall from such a height, but a human would definitely lose arms and legs.

Moreover, the docility of the Tomb Beetle is only compared to other high-level pet beasts with strong territorial awareness. If you stick to it and rashly summon a contracted pet, God knows if it will be angry.

”This tomb beetle was awakened by the drilling of the marking device. If we could calm it down and make it lie down again to sleep, wouldn’t it be able to come down?”

After thinking for a moment, Russell felt that it would be safest to let it stop on its own.

Speaking of which, the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent has the effect of calming the emotions of insect-type pets.

According to Ayou’s description, when in contact with the energy thread, it is like a super comfortable full body massage, making it drowsy.

It’s just...Ayou is only a little over one meter tall with her wings, and Daolang is not as tall as an adult, so it doesn’t take much mental energy to comfort him.

I don’t know if the soothing effect of the “Cocoon of Evolution” talent will be effective given the size of the Tomb Beetle.

But there was no other good way at the moment, so Russell still bit the bullet and stretched out the energy thread towards the tomb beetle.

”You have come into contact with ancient lord-level pet beasts. Your understanding of insect-type creatures has increased, and your talents and abilities have improved.”

The moment the energy thread penetrated the carapace and touched the spiritual power of the tomb beetle, he immediately received the information about the evolution of his talent skills.

In addition to the lord-level pet beasts that I came into contact with some time ago, the range of the evolution halo has now reached a radius of 300 meters, and the types are becoming increasingly rich.

The Tomb Beetle is incomparable to ordinary gold and silver-level small lords. After contacting it, Russell directly unlocked the halo authority of the ”Beetle” category.

According to the distribution of insect species in the world, the Coleoptera represented by beetles contains twenty or thirty detailed classifications, and it belongs to a very prosperous family under the Insecta.

Although the classification of insect beasts in the world of beast control is quite different from that in the real world, even if this ”beetle” only refers to the most typical beetles, it can save Russell a lot of trouble.

However, these changes are of no use for the time being. Russell is mainly concerned about whether the appeasement of the tomb beetles can be effective.

Fortunately, the tomb beetles calmed down quickly.

hum...

”Comfortable...comfortable...”

At the same time, a very loud but somewhat honest voice came from Russell’s mind.

”...Are you, Tomb Beetle?”

Russell was a little surprised when he heard this strange voice.

Unexpectedly, the touch of the energy thread not only successfully calmed down the mausoleum beetle’s little sleepiness, but also directly established communication with it.

Moreover, the mental energy consumption caused by communicating with the mausoleum beetles does not seem to be much higher than communicating with low-level ones.

From this point of view, the communication and soothing effects of the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent should not be determined by body size, but calculated based on mind or hostility.

”My name is... Dumb...”

But this tomb beetle was surprisingly innocent. Faced with Russell’s question, it answered without any precautions.

The name Dumb should be the name given to it by the builder of the secret realm.

However, the level of naming is really disappointing, it is simply worse than Russell.

”What are you doing here? How long have you been here? Who built this secret place?”

Seeing that the tomb beetle was asking and answering questions, Russell didn’t want to let go of this rare source of information, so he quickly asked other questions about the secret realm.

It’s a pity that although the intelligence of this eighth-level pet beast is not low, its mind is like that of a child who is not familiar with the world, and is ignorant of concepts such as secret realms, time, and tasks.

”King, order me... to sleep...”

After asking for a long time, Russell only learned that a strong man called the ”king” by the tomb beetle built this secret realm and ordered it to sleep here.

Relying on the large amount of insect energy in the secret realm and the extremely low energy consumption provided by the deep sleep skill, theoretically this kind of sleep can indeed span thousands of years.

Accompanied by the scent of the tomb beetles and the smooth flow of energy in the tunnels and caves, the entire secret realm can achieve a long-lasting antiseptic effect.

In addition, Dui also said that its body is big and can easily crush things, so there are no items placed in the cave where it sleeps.

If so, he would definitely keep the tomb beetle as close to him as possible and prevent the breath from spreading everywhere, so as to achieve the strongest antiseptic effect.

This arrangement is obviously to keep the entire secret realm fresh, and to rule out the possibility of the strong man preserving his body in order to resurrect it.

Thinking about it this way, are the other lord-level pet beasts in the secret realm also functional?

However, Dumb couldn’t explain clearly who that king was, whether it was a human or a pet beast.

”Can you get down and let us get off you?”

After asking for a long time, it was confirmed that there was no more useful information from Dumb’s crude memory. Only then did Russell remember that he was still hanging in mid-air.

”Hmm...I’m going to bed first...come play with me when you have time.”

Hearing this, Ah-Dai obediently lay down without even thinking about it, and inserted his stone-pillar-like insect legs into the ground again.

”This... what’s the situation?”

Realizing that their altitude was constantly dropping, Jiang Xue and Chen Yuan breathed a sigh of relief and also cast surprised glances at Russell.

Although they didn’t know exactly what happened, they could definitely feel the energy fluctuations on Russell’s body at such a close distance.

Just using the beast control talent for a while actually made this huge eighth-level pet beast stop. Is the telepathic ”Insect Whisperer” talent really so strong? However, the detailed information of beast control talents has always been an important personal privacy.

The more powerful the talent is, the more reluctant the beast master is to fully disclose this information.

Seeing that Russell did not take the initiative to bring it up, the two of them were very sensible and did not ask further questions.

”It’s so obedient... I feel like I can contract it directly.”

In fact, during the descent, Russell himself was lamenting the powerful affinity of the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent.

Of course, Dumb’s simple mind is also an important factor that cannot be ignored.

In this state of complete trust in others and no psychological defense at all, even if Russell directly issued a beast control contract, I am afraid it would not resist.

Of course, contracting an eighth-level mausoleum beetle can only remain in the hypothetical stage.

First of all, a fourth-level beast master cannot contract an eighth-level pet beast at all, especially since the mausoleum beetle is a huge pet beast.

If a beast control contract is forcibly signed, once the huge amount of energy feedback pours into the beast control space, the beast control master will have no choice but to explode and die.

Secondly, Russell is actually not very jealous of Dumb’s eighth level strength.

Although the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent allows insect-type pets to evolve multiple times, they can only evolve when they advance, rather than evolving anytime, anywhere without restrictions.

Even if you count from the first level to the tenth level or even the mythical stage or above, the actual number of transformations of a contracted beast is only about ten times in total.

For Ayou, Daolang and Xiaoqi who were cultivated from low levels, the remaining number of evolutions is naturally almost enough.

However, Ah-Dai’s strength has reached the eighth level and is a fully adult purple-gold pet beast. It can be said that it has almost no plasticity.

Even if he had the ability to withstand the eighth-level energy feedback, Russell would not waste his contract slots to contract a finished high-level pet beast.

However, judging from the way Dumb obeyed his words, Russell seemed to be able to give it some simple commands even without a contract.

”...Commander...why don’t you ask Dumb to accompany me to explore the secret realm?”

Thinking of this, Russell suddenly became energetic. He quickly activated his ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent, stretched out the maximum number of energy threads as possible, and said in a tone of coaxing a child with a lollipop:
”Dumb, dumb! Don’t sleep yet, let’s continue playing?”

…………

At this time, in another tunnel a long way away from this cave, two young men and women wearing alien costumes were riding a centipede-shaped beast as big as an off-road vehicle, heading toward the Russells and the others at high speed. The direction is coming.

”Sister, how long are we going to stay in this hellish place?”

The young man among them had an impatient face and was obviously not very interested in exploring this secret place.

”Including the centipede nest just now, we have obtained three keys to the secret realm. The little Gu insect I left behind just now sent a message. There was a sudden large amount of energy fluctuations in the area where the exploration failed before. We must rush there as soon as possible.”

The woman standing next to the young man seemed to have nothing to do with his younger brother. Faced with his complaints, she could only explain patiently.

”Hey, we have been wandering around the cave for a long time without seeing any clues. Suddenly there is such a big movement. Could it be someone from the Beast Control Alliance?”

Hearing this, the foreign youth chuckled and seemed not surprised by the arrival of the Beast Control Alliance exploration team.

”The possibility is very high, but it doesn’t matter. Let’s catch one of them and throw them out after the secret realm is completely cracked.”

And that woman was extremely confident in her own strength, and seemed not to take anyone who entered the secret realm seriously at all.

However, she did not say that she wanted to harm other explorers of the secret realm. She was just preparing to arrest all the strange beast masters she encountered. Obviously, she was not really on the same side as the Fire Stealing Group.

The centipede beasts crawled very quickly in the tunnel. In less than an hour, they arrived near the cave where Russell and the others had stayed.

”There is so much insect-type energy. The lord’s pet beast here must have been awakened. Be careful.”

Sensing the lingering aura of the tomb beetle, the woman became cautious.

But their strength is indeed much higher than that of Russell’s team, and their exploration methods are also more proficient.

Worried about running into the lord’s pet on the ground, she commanded the centipede to turn around and crawl toward the wall.

That centipede pet beast seemed to be a special ancient pet beast. Not only was it large enough to carry two adults easily, its dozens of pairs of insect legs were as sharp as blades, and it could crawl on the stone wall as easily as walking on flat ground.

Relying on such excellent climbing abilities, the two alien beastmasters climbed to the top of the cave in a matter of seconds.

At this height, the gray fog that filled the cave no longer blocked the line of sight. Based on the density and flow direction of the gray fog, the woman quickly judged the direction of action of the lord-level pet beast in this area.

”It’s strange. Lord-level pet beasts shouldn’t leave their place of residence easily. Is it to pursue the explorers of the Beast Control Alliance?”

The woman said something strange when she saw the movement of the large pet beast in the gray mist disappearing at the entrance of a tunnel.

However, if you want to get the key to the secret realm, you must find a way from these lord-level pet beasts.

After hesitating for a moment, the woman still directed the centipede beast to crawl towards the tunnel.

Sure enough, she hadn’t climbed far before she saw the cave lord’s pet that she had been looking for for many days.

I saw a black beetle as huge as a hill slowly moving forward. Even the widest tunnel, visually large enough for a train, could only barely accommodate its body.

Judging from the aura emitted by this big beetle, its strength is definitely above the high level, and it is officially the lord-level pet beast in this region.

Based on the experience of previous explorations, when encountering such a huge lord pet, the key to the core of the secret realm should be on its body.

However, when the woman rode the centipede pet a little closer, preparing to observe the big beetle at close range to find the key to the secret realm, the pupils of her and the young man beside her instantly dilated, as if they saw a completely unbelievable scene.

On the back of this giant beetle beast that looked powerful enough to move mountains and reclaim seas, there were actually three young men and women about the same age as him sitting.

Moreover, it is not difficult to tell from their attire that the three of them are secret explorers sent by the Beast Control Alliance.

The Beast Control Alliance has set its sights on the Fire Stealing Group, and will attack the camp soon, and then try its best to crack the secret realm. This is the information she knew in advance.

However, this foreign female beastmaster has never paid much attention to the exploration team of the Beastmaster Alliance.

With the late fourth-level parasitic Gu in hand, combined with the sword-footed centipede captured in the secret realm, her combat effectiveness now reached the mid-level fifth level.

If they really want to fight, these alliance beast masters in front of them, who are obviously only at the fourth level of strength, will be defeated by themselves in less than three rounds.

But...these alliance beast masters, whose strength seems to be mediocre, actually ride on the head of the cave lord’s pet beast?

Moreover, one of them, a somewhat handsome young man wearing an insect-wing off-road suit, seems to be directing the actions of this giant beetle from time to time? ?

What the hell is this? ? ?
