Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 172 Bloody SacrificeChapter 172 Bloody Sacrifice

”Watch your position and stay away from the shadows!”

Seeing several members of the Shadow Order surrounding him, Russell quickly spoke up to remind several teammates.

Although his heartbeat accelerated slightly, he was not actually too panicked by the appearance of the shadow priest.

After all, this is not the first time Russell has fought against a shadow priest. Russell probably still has a judgment on the opponent’s ability.

Although Death Shadow’s attack is powerful, it is a pure single-target attack.

Its spiritual form and undead body can provide high immunity to physical attacks and abnormal conditions, but it has little effect against the bombardment of energy skills.

Therefore, the Shadow of Death is not actually an absolutely top pet beast in group fights.

Although the auxiliary ability of the Bone Puppet is strong enough to strengthen the fourth-level skills of the Purifying Water Elf to the extent of interrupting the three-headed dragon and snake venom skills, the spells and bone formations must be prepared in advance.

Even if the Fire Thief Group got the information about the Beast Control Alliance’s night attack, Russell and the others jumped to random locations. With the rarity of the Bone Illusion, it was impossible for the ground to be filled with bone formations.

Besides, the Shadow Order is the Shadow Order, and the Shadow Priests are the Shadow Priests.

The requirements and price of pet beast sacrifice are extremely high, and not everyone who joins the Shadow Order can have a death shadow or a bone puppet.

Otherwise, with the abnormal strength of these two pet beasts that can easily fight across levels, the Fire Stealing Group would not have been suppressed by the Beast Control Alliance for so many years.

”I just want to beat you up, do you have any objections?”

After quietly observing the men in black around him, he felt that most of them were not shadow priests. Russell raised his hand to summon Ayou and Daolang, and deliberately said in an extremely arrogant manner.

Based on the performance of these attackers, at least one thing can be determined: the information about the Fire Stealing Group did not include the three-person exploration team.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t be these mid-level Fire Stealing Group members who would come to our door.

After all, killing the new force of the Beast Mastering Alliance to explore the secret realm, this kind of thing that harms others and is a little self-interested, the Fire Pirates have always been very fond of doing.

Russell initially speculated that they should have regarded their team as a general logistics or medical team, so they were only led by a shadow priest and rushed up together with a dozen peripheral members.

At this time, we must act decisively and quickly kill the members of the Fire Thieves Group, lest they come back to their senses and call for reinforcements from other places.

”I’ll block the shadow of death, and you can deal with the others as soon as possible.”

When Ayou released seven butterfly shadows in mid-air, Daolang also took up a fighting stance, and Russell turned around and said to the other teammates.

His arrangement was not based on blind entrustment, but a choice based on the abilities of everyone present.

Although Tu Tiezhu’s strength has reached the fifth level, the strongest among his contracted beasts is the standard beast Gale War Eagle. The other two late fourth-level beasts are also balanced and close-combat configurations.

It focuses on hand-to-hand combat capabilities, but also takes into account flight and defense methods. It seems to be a standard combination for the army.

This combination, which has been carefully selected by the alliance military for cost-effectiveness, cannot be said to be weak, but it is indeed relatively mediocre.

At least, for a while, Tu Tiezhu felt that he would not get much benefit from the shadow of death in the late fourth level.

Rather than letting him bite the bullet and ask the Gale War Eagle to use various physical skills that will be subject to high immunity, and engage in a meaningless fight with the shadow of death, it is better to deal with the ordinary members of the Fire Thief Group.

”...General Mo Lin’s military order requires me to protect your safety!”

Hearing this, Tu Tiezhu seemed very hesitant.

As an experienced warrior, Tu Tiezhu could see the attacker’s strength at a glance.

The opponent had more people, but the shadow priest with the highest strength was only at the late fourth level. Even if the pet beast had superior characteristics, Tu Tiezhu was confident that he could fight him.

Let Russell go against the opponent’s main force. If something happens, let alone the credit of this trip, he might be stuck in the game in the future...

”The battle must be resolved quickly. You and a few other soldiers use your mobile advantage to clear out the miscellaneous soldiers. Don’t let any fish slip through the net. It will be difficult if they see that we are not a logistics team!”

Seeing that Tu Tiezhu was not aware of the fire-stealing group yet, he quickly explained to him in a low voice.

At this time, Tu Tiezhu, who had more than enough combat experience but was used to fixed tasks such as city defense, finally understood.

If they couldn’t completely eliminate the group of fire thieves who discovered the exploration team, once they called in the high-level shadow priests, our group would be hacked alive in less than ten seconds.

Thinking of this, Tu Tiezhu no longer hesitated and immediately called on several other soldiers whose strength was in the middle of the fourth level to attack the surrounding black shadows.

At the same time, Jiang Xue and Chen Yuan also summoned their main pet beasts.

Jiang Xue seems to be a pure medical beast master. In addition to the nurse spider, her other two pet beasts are also of the treatment and protection type.

Under the protection of multiple skills such as spider silk, flower petals, energy shield, and the earth wall-like slime shield propped up by Xiao Qi, a circle of copper and iron walls was formed around the three of them.

However, the attack power of Death Shadow, as a top-level assassination beast, cannot be overshadowed.

The late fourth-level death shadow attempted a round of attacks. Although it failed to break through the multiple defensive skills in one fell swoop, the sudden cracks on the triple shield still made the three of them feel excited.

Of course, Russell did not sit still during this period.

Just like how he dealt with the shadow priest last time, he directed the sword mantis to go straight to the enemy beast master, while Ayou began to fire shadow-stitching arrows and nether blasts, hoping to interfere with the attack of the shadow of death.

Chen Yuan also showed his good combat awareness from his military background.

While he was commanding the fighter Unicorn to rampage among the fire thieves, he also had another fire-based lizard pet keep spitting lava at the crowd, making a lot of contributions to breaking up the fire thieves’ formation.

”You have some strength...but you seem to underestimate the Shadow Order too much.”

Seeing that Russell actually asked the strongest officer in the team to chase his own minions, the shadow priest smiled arrogantly.

Then, instead of advancing, he retreated and turned around and ran towards Da Dao Mantis.

In the final analysis, Russell analyzed it for a long time, but still underestimated the ruthlessness of the members of the Fire Stealing Group.

In fact, this shadow priest doesn’t care about the life and death of those peripheral members at all.

The young man in front of me, who looked like he was in the early stages of the fourth level, could actually command an alliance officer who was in the middle of the fifth level. His identity was unusual at first glance.

As long as Russell can be eliminated and some peripheral members who have been brainwashed and deceived are sacrificed, it is completely acceptable in his eyes.

Seeing that there was only one medical beast master beside Russell, and a young man who sent all the main beasts to fight head-on, the shadow priest felt that he had an opportunity to make a contribution.

If he can get rid of one or two of the second-generation Alliance royals who don’t take the Fire Thieves seriously and come here to watch the fun, maybe he can get a second chance to sacrifice...

Thinking of this, a cruel smile appeared on the shadow priest’s face.

Immediately afterwards, his body twisted, seemingly activating some kind of defensive skill with very strange effects.

It was a strange ability that could soften the body. With a series of inhuman dodges, he dodged the attack of the mantis like a long snake and rushed towards the Russells and the others at high speed. ”What kind of skill is this...?”

Looking at the shadow priest charging toward him with an evil smile, Jiang Xue couldn’t help but feel a little scared.

Although many years of knowledge about beast control told her that no matter how much a beast master improves his combat ability, it will be difficult to compare with his pet beast.

Even the shadow of death itself cannot cut through the triple shield with one sword. Even if the shadow priest obtains part of its abilities through some ability, the discounted attack power should be even less threatening.

But no one can completely ignore this weird scene in front of them!
”Whatever, Xiaoqi, spit out two more shields!”

Like Jiang Xue, Russell also had no idea what these lunatics were going to do. All he could do was let Xiao Qi defend with all his strength.

Seeing the three Russells standing there passively defending, the shadow priest’s smile became even brighter, and then his body shape changed again.

This time, black energy surged from his hands, and after two or three seconds, a scythe of the same style as the Shadow of Death suddenly appeared.

At the same time, it can be seen from the shadow priest’s cloak that was lifted up by the mountain wind that his face, which did not look like a living person, turned pale again.

Paired with his skinny body, he looked like a corpse that had just crawled out of a coffin.

”Hiss... Is it a sacrificial skill?”

Seeing this scene, Russell frowned and immediately stuffed two more Earth Mother crystals into the mucus shield.

He had seen in the confidential information of the Alliance Research Institute that this method, called the sacrificial skill, had flourished for a period of time in ancient times.

At that time, the beast-controlling civilization was not as complete as it is now, and the society was not as harmonious as it is now. There were many more situations of life-and-death struggle than now.

In this environment, you need to pay a serious price, and even permanently reduce your own attributes before you can use it, but the sacrifice skill with amazing effects is naturally very popular.

After all, in the face of life-threatening threats that exist at any time, no matter how serious the price is, it seems to be bearable.

However, with the development of social civilization, the use of sacrificial skills that are both fatal and crazy has become a skill prohibited by the Beast Control Alliance.

It is true that there has always been a phenomenon of inheritance of sacrifice skills in the Fire Stealing Group, but this skill, like the sacrifice of reincarnated beasts, cannot be learned just by wanting to learn it.

Russell didn’t expect to see the sacrifice skill on a fourth-level shadow priest today.

Soon after, the situation on the scene changed rapidly.

Facing the rise of the shadow priest, Russell only had time to briefly recall what ability he was using, and the scythe had already slashed fiercely on the mucus shield.

At the same time, the shadow of death lurking in the darkness appeared again like a ghost, and together with the shadow priest, launched a fierce attack on the defense line of the three Russells.

As the sound of the earth wall being chopped into pieces continued to be heard, the three of them felt terrified, and Chen Yuan quickly ordered the salamander beast to come back to the rear for reinforcements.

It has to be said that the attack power of the Death Shadow is indeed terrifying, and the shadow priest who has activated the strange sacrifice skill has at least % of its attack power.

In just a few seconds, four or five earth mother crystals were absorbed, and the earthen wall, which was almost as hard as concrete, had already developed obvious cracks.

If it weren’t for the nurse spider’s silk threads inside the earthen wall that provided buffering, the shock from the fierce battle alone would have been enough to make Russell dizzy.

However, while the three of them were being beaten, the shadow priest’s face didn’t look very good either.

He used the sacrifice skill to transform himself into half of the pet beast’s combat power. It seemed that he had an absolute advantage for the time being, but Russell’s defensive capabilities far exceeded the shadow priest’s estimate.

Together with the shadow of death, he attacked fiercely for nearly three or four seconds, but he failed to break through the defense line of several fourth-level beast masters!

When performing other assassination missions, this shadow priest had never encountered such a deflated situation.

Because he has been violent since he was a child and has never taken the lives of pet beasts seriously, he got along like a duck to water after joining the Fire Thieves Group. He even mastered the powerful sacrifice skill when he just entered the intermediate level.

Relying on the ”Blood Sacrifice” skill inherited by the Shadow Order, as long as the user sacrifices some vitality and blood, the user will resonate highly with the shadow of death in a short period of time.

It is different from the ”energy sharing” beast control talent that shares passive skills or slightly increases the level of attributes.

Beast masters in the Blood Sacrifice state can directly obtain most of the abilities of Death Shadow, as well as some of the offensive and defensive attributes.

Every time he transformed into a handsome god of death, he could kill those proud young beast masters, which gave him great satisfaction.

Therefore, this shadow priest has always regarded Blood Sacrifice as his second beast-controlling talent.

However, why did the invincible Shadow of Death and the magical Blood Sacrifice not work today?

However, the changes in the battle situation did not leave him much time to struggle.

Lack of stamina is a common problem of assassinating beasts, especially for shadow priests who have activated the sacrifice skill.

Feeling that his vitality was fading rapidly, a more intense look of madness appeared in his eyes.

”Death to me!”

Roaring in a voice similar to that of a beast, the shadow priest once again raised his scythe together with the shadow of death, intending to deliver a fatal blow to the cracked earth wall.

But at this moment, what he never expected was that a piece of the insurmountable earth wall in front of him actually collapsed.

Through this gap, Russell had obvious disgust on his two handsome faces, and said with a slightly mocking tone:
”Stop bothering, it looks like you’ll be killed first by this knife?”

After saying this, two shadow-stitching arrows were shot out silently, forcing the shadow priest and the shadow of death some distance away from the earth wall.

Then, Ayou flapped her wings and slowly flew out, stopping gracefully on the earth wall.

”Well... I’m not usually so fast...!”

It was only then that the shadow priest noticed something was wrong with his situation.

For some reason, the loss of life force after he turned on the Blood Sacrifice today seemed to be four to five times faster than before.

In less than half a minute, it was almost exhausted.

Vitality is not only related to life span, but also affects physical strength and spirit. When vitality is overdrawn, people will soon fall into coma.

”You can also control life force? This is impossible...”

Looking back at the peripheral members who were defeated by Alliance soldiers not far away, before fainting, the shadow priest looked at Russell with a rare look of fear.
