Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 154 Breeding Ground No. 3Chapter 154 Breeding Ground No.

A few days later, in the early morning, before Russell got up, Lu Yinning led a large number of strong men in work clothes to the selected empty factory building.

”Manager Lu, this is not the first time we have cooperated. Don’t worry, just list the requirements and wait for acceptance.”

As soon as he entered the factory, the leading worker directed his colleagues to work in a familiar manner. He himself took a drawing and discussed some details of the transformation with Lu Yinning.

All in all, this is the fourth time Ding Jia has received a project order from Yu Chongwu.

When we first cooperated, Russell’s commission was very simple. He just asked his construction team to repaint the walls of the two-story building and repair the water and electricity infrastructure.

The construction team run by Ding Jia has been working hard in Senluo City for more than ten years. Such small orders with a total price of only tens of thousands of credit points have been received ranging from to , so he doesn’t pay much attention to them.

However, in the next few months, Russell first expanded a factory and then renovated a five-story building inside and out.

Although these two project orders are not to rebuild a house, the specifications of the internal facilities are not low, and the cost of the two projects is close to tens of millions.

However, just a few days after finishing the decoration work of the Dream Mental Sanatorium, there was another call from Yu Chongwu, saying that they were going to expand a large cultivation factory.

Thinking of the beautiful sound of credit points arriving, Ding Jia couldn’t help but smile.

”The structure of the breeding ground this time is a little different. It is mainly used for cave dwelling and for underground pets who like to dig. These are some basic needs. See if there are any problems.”

Hearing this, Lu Yinning also took out some of the transformation requirements discussed with Russell and Liang Kun yesterday, as well as some equipment and environmental parameters found in the database, and carefully checked the transformation content with Ding Jia.

After all, the No. breeding ground to be renovated this time is much more special than the two existing breeding grounds.

Although the No. and No. breeding grounds are large in area, their structures are relatively simple.

Since the growth of pet animals mainly depends on the cultivation equipment placed inside, the factory facilities only need to have sufficient lighting, ventilation, and a quiet environment that can maintain a constant temperature.

But the pet animal that Russell now wants to breed on a large scale is mulch earthworms, and it is obviously not suitable to operate in a breeding box.

Moreover, there are many insect-type pets with cave-dwelling or digging habits. As the scale of the insect house expands, a special breeding site is indeed needed for them to grow in a familiar environment.

Therefore, Russell planned to go all out and directly transform a breeding ground specifically for cultivating underground insect beasts.

Considering that pet beasts living in burrows in the soil are not as easy to manage as silkworm babies, the construction of this breeding farm is naturally much more sophisticated.

In addition to maintaining a basic environment of moderate soil moisture and constant temperature, this factory must also be equipped with a very complete ecosystem.

Because many underground pet beasts are like mulch earthworms, with the ability to swallow debris and decayed matter and convert them into nutrients.

If there is only transformation but no consumption, even if there is no waste of resources, the continuous accumulation of nutrients will easily cause the soil to alienate and emit some indescribable odors...

Moreover, an overly fertile and pH-unbalanced environment will also affect the survival of pet animals.

Even the highly adaptable mulch earthworms cannot withstand the sticky soil where a large amount of fertilizer is accumulated.

It is not difficult to solve this problem. Just plant some plants in the soil where mulch earthworms are cultivated. However, cultivating plants will create new tasks, such as regular watering and maintaining light.

Lighting is easy to say, it’s just a matter of opening a few more windows and installing some fluorescent lamps, but watering is a larger project.

The land prices near Fenglin Road are cheap. The idle factories acquired by Russell are basically thousands of square meters each. Moreover, indoors are not suitable for feeding pets like Xiao Yuyun. If you want to solve the problem once and for all, you can only lay pipes and sprinkler equipment.

Moreover, just building the irrigation system is not enough.

Because the factory building is covered with hardened cement foundation, not soil, in order to smoothly drain excess water and prevent pets from being flooded with water, a supporting sewer system must be built.

At the same time, we cannot only consider the drainage problem and make the cultivation tank too accessible.

In this case, it is easy for the pet animals to run around, making it difficult to control the breeding density, or escaping.

In short... Russell ordered a big project this time, and if he completed the entire process, it would be enough to feed Ding Jia’s entire construction team for several more months.

”Because the investment in developing new breeding projects has been a bit high recently, in terms of cost and payment terms, please see if you can give me some discounts.”

After checking the main construction contents, Lu Yinning turned the topic to settlement.

Yuchongwu has cooperated with Dingjia several times. The price is indeed fair, and the construction tasks are completed with high quality and quantity. I continue to choose to cooperate with them for peace of mind.

Although Yu Chongwu is getting more and more prosperous now, it doesn’t deliberately lower the price just because it is a big customer. Lu Yinning brought up this topic because money in the store has been a bit tight recently.

After all, the Flying Wing Shipping Company’s breeding order had just been received, and those pet beast cubs had basically not produced much yet.

The other party’s full reimbursement of the cultivation and research and development expenses is already a sign of sincerity, so it’s not easy to ask them for an advance payment...

In addition, Russell spent several million credits to buy food and drink for the two contract beasts, spending all the credits accumulated from selling worm silk.

Relying solely on the daily revenue of the Dream Mental Sanatorium, it is indeed a bit tight to pay for the project.

”Just kidding, Boss Luo was so quick to pay for the decoration last time, and I’m not that stingy. Do you think this will work...”

Hearing the hidden meaning of Lu Yinning’s words, Ding Jia waved his hand, indicating that everything could be easily discussed.

As a mediocre third-level beast master, he was able to pull up a large construction team in Senluo City. He even had late-level fourth-level members working under him because of his emotional intelligence.

Ding Jia’s construction team undertook the decoration business of the Dream Mental Sanatorium, and naturally participated in the opening of the Sanatorium.

Anyone who is not a fool can estimate the future development momentum of the Chongwu House after seeing Dr. Natsuki, Deputy Commander Meng Yuanfeng, and well-known entrepreneur Tian Tongqi appear one after another.

What’s more, on his way here today, he saw a branch of Feiyi Shipping, which was built next to the Royal Insect House. From time to time, people moved things between the apron and the breeding ground.

Moreover, Russell paid 50.00% of the decoration fee for the last Fantasy Mental Sanatorium in advance, and the rest was settled on the spot after acceptance.

Faced with such a bold and dynamic new entrepreneur in Senluo City, Ding Jia naturally would not care about trivial matters.

…………

Two hours later, Ding Jia directed his teammates to set up the auxiliary supports, and Russell, who had just woken up, belatedly arrived with a piece of pancake.

”Mr. Ding, thank you for working so early. Do you want to have breakfast first?”

Looking at the clock on his phone, Russell saw that it was just past nine o’clock. Russell paid high respect to those who insisted on getting up early every day.

After all... no matter in his previous life or now, the biggest stumbling block in his life is pillows and quilts. ”No, no, I’m too full to work. We ate before we came here.”

Seeing Russell appear at the door of the factory, Ding Jia said hello to him from a distance, and then continued to focus on the work at hand.

”Brother Russell, Boss Ding and I made some changes to the original drawing. Do you think it’s okay?”

Smelling the aroma of pancakes, Lu Yinning ran over and waved the paper in her hand as if to take credit.

”Eat something first. I didn’t rush you. Why are you starting work so early?”

Seeing Lu Yinning, who had begun to look like a professional elite, Russell was a little relieved and helpless, so he could only hand over a small portion of steamed buns and soy milk.

”I’m happy when I see Omushiya making money. I’ll be even happier when they give me a salary increase~”

However, Lu Yinning still looked like the girl next door in front of Russell. She gnawed on the buns and answered hesitantly.

”It will go up, it will go up this month!”

After getting along with each other for a long time, Russell had already treated Lu Yinning as half a sister. He immediately said that he would continue to raise his salary severely, and then checked the modifications that the two of them had made to the breeding farm drawings after working together all morning.

Although the writing and drawing on the drawing were quite messy, there were not many parts that Ding Jia suggested to modify.

The biggest change is that on the basis of retaining a large soil filling area in the center of the nursery, making full use of the remaining space around it, and adding several rows of stepped transparent culture tanks.

According to Ding Jia, he once built a similar breeding farm to breed mole-like pets needed to dig tunnels.

These small cultivation tanks can be used to raise the cubs of underground pet beasts. Made of glass and placed in the air, it is convenient to observe the growth of pet beast cubs, and can also avoid the mixing of adult pets and larvae.

Waiting for them to grow to a certain level and then moving them to a grid-shaped soil filling area can significantly improve the survival rate and culture effect.

After recalling the research data on mulch earthworms, Russell adopted this suggestion on the spot.

This kind of pet animal is famous for its wide distribution and excellent adaptability. This is true, but it does not mean that just grabbing a few earthworms and spreading a few handfuls of soil can complete the cultivation.

Strictly speaking, silkworm pets are also distributed in most areas of the world, but this does not conflict with their fragility in the worm stage.

These low-level pet beasts can spread everywhere. Their adaptability and symbiosis are on the one hand, and they are also inseparable from their excellent reproductive abilities.

Under the right environment, the reproduction cycle of mulch earthworms can be shortened to once a month, laying about five eggs each time.

Moreover, this kind of pet beast is also hermaphrodite, regardless of gender. One mating can lay eggs for life. There is no imbalance in pairing, which causes some slush earthworms to be unable to lay eggs.

Calculated this way, a slough earthworm can give birth to dozens of offspring a year. Even if 90.00% of them die, the population will continue to increase.

However, this ratio is sufficient for survival in the wild, but in the breeding industry, it represents an explosion of blood loss.

After all, doing business is not about protecting endangered pet animals. An increase in the number of animals is considered a success.

Just imagine, you invested in the construction of the factory in the early stage, and each young pet beast was bought with money. You also have to eat and drink it, and you continue to pay for breeding costs, etc.

As a result, only % of the eggs laid by the pet beasts survive. The adult pet beasts have to be sold to collect the money. Which factory can continue to operate?
According to public data in the mulch earthworm breeding industry, if you want to make a profit, the survival rate of small earthworms must reach at least %.

Thinking about it this way, it is indeed a necessary expenditure to slightly increase the construction cost and reserve some small training tanks for pet beast cubs.

Seeing that Russell approved the change suggestions and the total project cost increased by nearly fifteen points, Ding Jia’s smile became even brighter.

”Boss Luo, we just finished renovating the sanatorium and added a new breeding farm. What did you pick up this time?”

While the team members were taking a break to drink water, he chatted with Russell.

”Oh... I went to challenge the Green Leaf Gym a few days ago. After receiving the badge, I had a chat with Gym Leader Ye, but we haven’t officially cooperated yet.”

Regarding this question, Russell gnawed on the pancake, took another sip of soy milk, and then answered lightly.

With the gym’s transcendent status in the world of beast control, if it can successfully cooperate with the Green Leaf Gym, it will definitely be headline news in the business world of Senluo City, and it will be impossible to hide it even if you want.

Moreover, this kind of thing itself is a good publicity channel, and there is no need to hide it at all.

Anyway, he is no longer the down-and-out owner of the pet house worrying about water and electricity bills. With the support of the Senluo City Beast Control Alliance and the garrison legion platform, those who are jealous and want to cause trouble have to weigh their weight.

”...Boss Luo is truly a hero!”

Russell said it in an understatement, but in Ding Jia’s ears, these words were full of weight.

During the next conversation, he even stood up straighter unconsciously, wanting to show his best.

If Russell only knew how to do business, he would be a very good and high-quality customer at best, but it would not be enough to make Ding Jia awe-inspiring.

After all, business is more or less a personal network industry. For those heirs of large companies, there are many people in their twenties who have signed contracts worth hundreds of millions.

However, it is quite rare to be able to cultivate highly skilled people while also having outstanding abilities.

As far as he knew, the pass rate of the Green Leaf Gym was not generally low. Basically, nine and a half out of ten challengers would fail.

Moreover, after challenging the gym, he was able to have an in-depth conversation with the gym owner and even reach an agreement to cooperate. This is enough to prove that Russell is deeply appreciated by the gym owner Ye Qingyu.

The reason why a challenger can be appreciated by the gym owner can be understood with his toes. It must be because he performed very well when challenging the gym.

Who is the Gym Leader?

That is a strong man who started at the legendary level!
If you can get their approval, even if you don’t say that you can become a legend in the future, at least reaching the high level is a sure thing.

At such a young age, I can have partners such as Alliance Official, Senluo Clothing Company, Flying Wing Shipping, and Greenleaf Gym. I am also an outstanding professional beast master...

Thinking of this, Ding Jia suddenly understood that he and Russell had never been in the same world.

Of course, this didn’t stop him from wanting to hold Russell’s thigh tightly.

After respectfully sending Russell and Lu Yinning away, he returned to the factory, hit a team member who was fishing hard on the head, and cursed:

”Don’t work harder! Is this the soil you dug? Do you know this is your pension insurance?”
