Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 52 Evolving AgainChapter 52 Evolving Again
Back at the Royal Insect House, Russell couldn’t wait to open the gift package of rewards he got from exploring the secret realm.

There are more than a dozen kinds of breeding materials suitable for insect-type pets in the sealed box. Although the quantities of each are not large, they are all high-quality products.

Cultivation materials such as Warm Orange Fruit Concentrate Capsules, Hot Spring Fritillaria and Refined Egg Shell Powder are all designed to be gentle and easy to absorb. They are the best choice for stabilizing the energy in the body and consolidating new realms after the pet animal advances and evolves.

It seems that the Senluo City Beast Control Research Institute has been secretly investigating him, and even knows that Ayou is about to evolve...

However, Russell was not disgusted with this kind of harmless exploration and subsequent generous behavior.

In addition to these cultivation materials, Dr. Xia Mu also specially selected several attachments of paper confidential materials that could not be found on the Internet and gave them to Russell.

”The latest theory on the temperature and humidity of silkworm pets, scale powder and refraction...”Confidential Pet Beast Atlas: Insect Series”!”

Looking through the hundreds of pages of information in his hand, Russell’s eyes suddenly lit up.

Unexpectedly, this stack of information also contained information about rare insect-type pets that he was currently very concerned about.

Being able to understand this internal information, which is not open to the public, will give you more choices, whether it is to learn from the abilities of some special races or to search for valuable lord-level pets.

At the end of the information, there is a note left by Dr. Natsuki:

”You seem to be very good at developing the secondary attributes of insect beasts. Taking advantage of the secondary attributes is indeed a way to solve the weakness of the main attributes. But I want to remind you - life has its original state. Flesh and blood depend on it. Cells proliferate and grow, and elemental bodies begin to condense from the energy core. This is something that is difficult to change, and it is also the source of life force. The foundation of an insect-type pet beast is always the body of an insect.”

It is not difficult to see from this additional reminder that Dr. Natsuki is indeed quite good to Russell.

Just like teaching people how to choose a major or a job in the real world, in the world of beast control, it is also a very sensitive matter to guide others to cultivate their pet animals.

If you teach well, the other party may think that success is mainly due to your own excellence, but once the teaching goes wrong, you will have to take the blame, and if not, you may even become enemies.

Only from the perspective of a mentor looking at students and a senior taking care of a junior can he sincerely put forward some suggestions for cultivation.

Moreover, these views mentioned by Dr. Natsuki, or the attributes and life form theories officially recognized by the Beast Control Alliance, coincide with Russell’s previous conjectures.

He likes insects, not ghosts or machines. Although Ayou and Daodao Mantis need to use the characteristics of ghost and steel to improve their strength, they are still bugs in essence, and Russell has never thought of completely changing their forms.

Besides, his foundation in this world, the powerful ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent can only be used on insect-type pets. If he loses even the insect attributes, wouldn’t it be a direct hit?

Therefore, Russell always maintained the insect and ghost energy in Ayou at a similar level.

Insect-type pets, there should be insect-type pets. If they don’t look like insects at all, then what’s the point!
……

But having said that, Russell actually feels a little guilty about his rhetoric.

After all, the presence of insect-type skills in combat effectiveness of his two main pets seems to be a bit low...

For Ayou, the attack power of Nether Explosion is almost enough for the time being. The future development direction of Daodao Mantis is flexible guerrilla, and most of the powerful and heavy steel skills are not suitable for it. It should really return to its true heart and improve it. Their insect-type abilities are gone.

Ayou’s fur enhancement should be regarded as an insect-type ability, and it is also exclusive to its race as a moth pet. However, we don’t know how strong the fur enhancement is when it is officially awakened after evolution.

It has both floating and paralyzing effects, so it’s not too weak at all.

Thinking of this, Russell turned his attention to Ayou who was still sparring with Feng Yuque.

Evolution is imminent, and Ayou’s wings have turned from light gray to dark gray that is close to black. Abundant ghost-type energy flows through them. Combined with the flashes of scaly powder from time to time, it looks like a quiet starry sky.

After a lot of practice, it became more and more adept at avoiding wind blades.

From the hurried attack at the beginning, now he has learned to use the power of the wind to float and dodge attacks with the smallest movement and the shortest distance. It can be said that he has made great progress.

Although this kind of experience and skills is not a skill, it can play a very good role in actual combat.

After staring at Ayou for a moment, Russell’s current information appeared in his eyes. ”UFO Hawkmoth

Growth progress: 92%

Among them, insect energy accounts for 35%, ghost energy accounts for 27%, spiritual energy accounts for 16%, plant energy accounts for 7%, and poison energy accounts for 7%.
Ability development:

Shadow Sewing Arrow (current level cannot be advanced yet, shadow control proficiency is 30%)

Mental barrier (not yet understood, mental resistance proficiency 36%)
Body Transformation: Velvet Strengthening (There is a chance of awakening during the next evolution, the current success rate is 98%)”

Before going to the secret realm, Russell specifically asked Lu Yinning to add some plant-based and poison-based materials to Ayou’s daily cultivation food. After he returned to the Imperial Insect House, he conducted a little energy screening and divided the proportions of these two energies. The ratio is controlled at the preset %.

The growth progress of up to 90.00% means that Ayou only needs to work a little harder to make up for the % success rate that is lacking in fluff enhancement, and then feed an advanced material, and Ayou can start a new round of evolution immediately. .

However, the only regret is that Ayou’s shadow control ability, which she acquired under the guidance of Candle Shadow Moth, has not made much progress.

The abilities related to shadows are all mysterious, and as a human, Russell doesn’t quite understand how to start practicing.

”Anyway, the Shadow Sewing Arrow skill cannot be understood at the second level. Let’s go to the Candle Shadow Moth to learn from it after it evolves...”

Fortunately, there is a ready-made teacher in the animal pen of the Senluo Alliance Building, and his attitude is quite kind. He should be willing to provide more guidance to Ayou.

…………

Thinking that it was still too early to tell the results of Da Dao Mantis’s own Mantis Boxing, and with the guidance of professional martial arts masters from the Bloodstone Martial Arts School, in the past few days after returning home, Russell focused entirely on Ayou’s evolution. .

After the last day of evasion practice, Ayou successfully increased the success rate of fluff reinforcement to 100%.

According to the internal information provided by Dr. Xiamu, Russell prepared a third-level advanced material tailored for the insect and ghost dual-attribute beasts, and then brought it to Ayou.

Huhu——

Become stronger!

Having experienced the wonderful transformation after the first evolution, Ayou was extremely looking forward to the fact that she was about to evolve again.

Without waiting for Russell to call, it flew over impatiently, extended its mouthparts and quickly sucked up the advanced materials.

As the rich and gentle energy in the advanced materials flowed into the body, Ayou’s growth progress increased at a speed visible to the naked eye. In less than 5 minutes, the remaining eight percent of the vacancy was filled, and its body also It began to emit a strange light that alternated between brown and dark gray.

Driven by instinct, Ayou intertwined the two kinds of energy that were constantly surging in his body, turning it into a ball of light and wrapping himself in it.

Standing next to Ayou and watching it form an energy cocoon, Russell was a little happy and a little worried.

There are two things that pet beasts fear most when they evolve:
First, interference from external forces causes abnormal energy fluctuations, which directly leads to failure of evolution.

Second, the evolutionary environment is not ideal, causing the energy that has been accumulated so hard to leak out, reducing the improvement brought about by evolution.

Due to the lack of similar cases of moths and butterflies evolving again after emerging from their cocoons, Russell ignored the fact that mature moth pets no longer have the ability to spin silk...

Although Ayou used energy instead of silk to weave the cocoon, with its current mental strength, it might be difficult to completely lock the energy in the cocoon and prevent it from escaping.

After thinking twice, Russell raised his hand and used the energy thread of the ”Cocoon of Evolution” to wrap another layer on Ayou’s cocoon.

After all, pet beasts are responsible for fighting. At the critical moment of evolution, I, as a beast master, should be more tired...
