Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 38 Candle Shadow MothChapter 38 Candle Shadow Moth

Two days later, Russell finally received a text message from Dr. Xiamu:
”At three o’clock in the afternoon, we will meet at the animal pen of the Senluo Beast Taming Alliance Building.”

The newly purchased large silkworm eggs and broodworms have not arrived yet. Lu Yinning can take care of the existing pet beasts by himself. After receiving the news, he hurried to the agreed place.

After showing the electronic communication certificate that Dr. Natsuki sent along with the message, Russell took the elevator to the third underground floor of the Beast Control Alliance Building.

It is composed of many separate ecological breeding barns, and each breeding barn contains wild pet animals that are still in the process of being domesticated.

Russell had also seen the same type of animal pen at the Black Dew Forest Trial Ground, but the venue configuration there was much lower, and the value of the pet animals imprisoned was completely incomparable to that here.

”Hello visitor, Dr. Natsuki is waiting for you in Ecological Warehouse No. 39.”

As soon as he stepped into the entrance of the third floor, the management office staff waiting at the door led Russell to an ecological cultivation warehouse with a green indicator light.

Green represents safety. This indicator light indicates that the wild pets in the breeding barn have been basically tamed and are no longer obviously aggressive and can come into contact with other people.

As the barn door slowly opened, Russell saw many artificially planted broad-leaf flowering plants, as well as a computer-simulated image of the moon. This environment was indeed very suitable for the habitation of nocturnal moths that like to suck nectar.

Next to a starry orchid that is taller than a human, Dr. Natsuki is leaning over to observe a pet moth lying on the flower eating. Next to him is a tall man with several scars on his arms. muscular man.

Seeing Russell walking into the breeding warehouse, Dr. Xiamu turned around and introduced to him:

”Russell, let me introduce you. This is Zhou Jian, the captain of the Senluo City Stunt Hunting Team, a sixth-level professional beast master. His hunting mission some time ago was to capture this lord-level candle shadow moth.”

As he spoke, Dr. Natsuki pointed at the little moth in front of him, which was not much bigger than an adult’s hand.

”...Is this a lord-level moth pet?”

Looking up and down at this black moth that looked like an ordinary person could be slapped to death, Russell couldn’t help showing a skeptical expression even in front of the academic authority of Senluo City.

If we talk about the appearance alone, this candle shadow moth is quite beautiful. Its pitch-black wings are dotted with dark red spots, just like sparks in the dark night. It is beautiful but also a bit eerie.

However, it is so small in size and does not emit obvious life energy or pressure of the same level. Judging from Russell’s experience of dealing with low-level beasts, it is only a bronze and silver-level pet beast.

Recalling that Queen Bee’s body shape was similar to that of an ordinary person, and her appearance as a king could be seen at a glance, he couldn’t help but wonder, if they were both lord-level pet beasts, would the difference be so big?
”The Candle Shadow Moth is a very rare insect-type pet beast, and it involves military use, so there are no records about it in public databases or sales books. I have brought an excerpt of the information for you to take a look at.”

Probably expecting that Russell would take advantage of appearance, Dr. Xia Mu directly threw him a few documents prepared in advance.

”The Candle Shadow Moth is a gold-level pet beast with dual attributes of insect and ghost. The racial talent is Shadow Stitch. It can control shadows to achieve group invisibility at night and in dark places, or forcefully control enemies within the range through shadows...?”

After reading this document, Russell felt deeply ashamed of his superficiality just now.

It’s both group invisibility and group control. This Candle Shadow Moth’s ability is a bit powerful.

From the perspective of racial ability, Candle Shadow Moth is very good at hiding. This ability must work on both the visual and aura levels to avoid detection by other beasts. No wonder he didn’t feel the suppression of the fifth-level pet beast even when he was standing so close. feel.

Moreover, the literature also mentioned that the Candle Shadow Moth is not a natural lord-level pet like Queen Bee. Its tribe is called Shadow Moth, a bronze-level pet that is good at controlling shadows.

If they want to become the leader of the group, the shadow moths must compete with each other for the ability to control shadows. Only by making their talents and skills transcend the limitations of blessing themselves and single-target control, and achieve the effect of group hiding and group control, can they obtain the blessing of starlight. Evolves into a Candleshade Moth with dancing stars on its wings.

Due to this competitive atmosphere in terms of strength, although the number of a group of shadow moths is difficult to exceed a hundred, the average strength is far greater than that of honey pot bees, a farming beast that lives in peace with the world.

As for the military use mentioned by Dr. Natsuki, it refers to the Candle Shadow Moth’s outstanding talent in stealth detection and control of scenes. With it leading a group of subordinates to patrol around, it can greatly improve the nighttime security of an urban area.

”How do you need to observe? Do you need us to avoid it?”

After Russell finished reading the document, Dr. Natsuki, who had been looking forward to it for a long time, immediately asked. ”no need……”

Hearing this, Russell was silent for a moment, and finally shook his head with a fake smile.

In fact, he really wanted to say, ”If you are more conscious, get out quickly!” However, due to Dr. Natsuki’s obvious desire to stay and watch, Russell had to make some compromises.

Furthermore, this high-standard ecological cultivation warehouse is 100% equipped with full-process monitoring. If Dr. Xiamu wants to peep into his secrets, it doesn’t make much sense just to break away from the naked eye.

Anyway, he only needs to get close to the lord-level pet beast and have some energy exchange with it. Even if there are some light and energy fluctuations, it is still an extremely common situation in the process of using the beast control talent, and there is nothing special about them.

Under the direct gazes of Dr. Xia Mu and Zhou Jian, Russell walked towards the Candle Shadow Moth lying on the orchid with a helpless expression.

Since the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent passively increased a lot of insect affinity, upon noticing his approach, the Candle Shadow Moth did not make any move, but slowly flapped its wings in a friendly manner.

Sure enough, just as Russell expected, after attracting Candle Shadow Moth’s attention, a low spiritual message quickly came from his mind:

”Your... breath, close.”

The message conveyed by the Candle Shadow Moth is very simple, but it is enough to prove that the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent can indeed allow Russell to directly communicate with the insect beasts with higher intelligence.

This ability cannot be said to be very powerful, but it is quite practical and is a little surprise.

”Can you give me some guidance, or...well, how should I put it, can you transfer some energy to me?”

With a slight excitement, Russell quickly sent a message back to Candle Shadow Moth.

It’s just that he doesn’t know how to describe Queen Bee’s operation when she helped unlock the ”evolutionary halo” last time, so he can only give a rough description.

Fortunately, the Candle Shadow Moth successfully understood Russell’s meaning. It flapped its wings and flew into Russell’s palm, generously sending out a black energy with a bit of coolness.

As this energy seeped from the palm of his hand and climbed all the way up his arms and chest to his head, Russell once again experienced that wonderful and hazy feeling, and his ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent also changed accordingly.

”Get energy sharing from lord-level insect-type pets, and the passive talent evolution aura ability will be improved.
Your beast control space energy begins to slowly release, which can continuously affect the growth process of certain insect-type pets within a certain range, allowing them to slowly optimize their bloodline and energy, and increase their growth ceiling.

Current range: 150 meters

Unlocked races: bees, moths. ”

After squinting his eyes to digest the comfort brought by the re-evolution of his talent, Russell smiled happily.

After obtaining the energy shared by the Candle Shadow Moth, he not only successfully unlocked the halo authority of the moth pet, but also expanded the halo range by half. This trip to the animal pen can be said to be a worthwhile trip.

At the same time, Dr. Xia Mu and Zhou Jian glanced at each other with question marks on their faces, their faces confused.

Apart from seeing Candle Shadow Moth take the initiative to get close to Russell, and one person and one pet interacted with each other for a few seconds, and then Candle Shadow Moth looked a little tired, they did not draw any useful conclusions.

Could it be that Russell possesses some extremely sinister talent for controlling beasts and can absorb the vitality of pet beasts for his own use?

However, this kind of talent will naturally make the pet beast avoid him, which is contradictory to the scene where the candle shadow moth takes the initiative to fly into his palm.

After some eye contact, the two reached a consensus:
This guy is not simple...
