Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 28 Bye promotionChapter 28 Bye promotion
The day after the attack, Russell received a message from the Beastmaster League’s competition department:
”Due to the attack on the youth training camp, several players were injured and unable to participate. Only seven people have confirmed their participation. You have a bye this round and will directly enter the semi-finals. Please participate on time.”

Yesterday’s briefing did mention that the youth training camp was attacked, but I didn’t expect that there would be so many injured.

There were originally sixteen contestants, but now they couldn’t even get together for the quarter-finals. Plus he was lucky enough to get a bye and advance directly to the semi-finals...

However, this is also a helpless move by the Beast Control Alliance.

The damage suffered from an attack by an eighth-level pet beast is far beyond what can be compared to a battle of the same level. Even if it is just scratched by the aftermath, it will take several months to fully recover.

The schedule of the venues is very tight. Quarterly competitions and rookie competitions are not major events in the first place. They do not enjoy the benefits of reserved venues, so the schedule can only be shortened.

Russell was not too surprised to advance to two levels in a row. He was very confident in the strength of his pet beast. Not to mention winning the championship, there should be no problem in at least breaking through to the top and quarterfinals.

Considering that the players who can qualify from the group stage have some strength, the intensity of the confrontation may be relatively high. In order to allow sufficient recovery time for the beasts and players, each round after the top will be separated by a few days.

Taking advantage of another week of free time given by the bye, Russell customized a new recipe for Ayou while taking care of the queen bee eggs.

With the income from selling the Rainbow Veil, his financial situation is much better now. Common cultivation materials on the market can basically be purchased without any pain. If Ayou is allowed to drink free juice from the Dark Light Grass, that would be a bit too much. .

After looking through the list of cultivation materials in the Alliance Trading Center several times, he finally ordered two new cultivation materials.

The first is a fourth-level cultivation material with dual attributes of ghost and spirit - Gloomy Teardrops.

This kind of cultivation material is produced from the gold-level pet beast Resentment Golem. It is the materialized product of its resentment. It is in a half-energy and half-liquefied state. It does not require additional processing and is very convenient for Ayou to suck.

Because the Resentment Golem is a pet beast born from the resentment and unwillingness of other creatures before death, its mental fluctuations and dark power are very strong. Among materials of the same level, the energy purity of the Resentment Teardrop can be ranked at the forefront, and it can completely satisfy Ayou’s energy needs before evolving again.

At the same time, the spiritual energy in the tears of resentment that blends with the ghost energy is also an attribute that Ayou needs very much.

As its strength increases, it will continue to face more powerful opponents. The attack power of Nether Explosion is currently sufficient, but Ayou’s energy limit, which is constantly bottoming out, has begun to seem a bit of a hindrance.

One of the characteristics of the spiritual beasts is that their energy limit is very high, and their ability to control energy is also better. The speed and accuracy of using energy-based skills are far superior to other pet beasts of the same level.

Not long ago, Russell saw a collection of battles between super beasts. The levels of the beasts in the video were not very high, but the use of skills such as telekinesis and mental shock seemed to cost nothing, which really made him jealous. After a while.

Therefore, Russell specifically chose the Gloomy Teardrop with dual attributes of ghost and spirit, also in order to make Ayou’s basic attribute growth curve closer to the direction of a spiritual beast.

Although in the records of the Beast Control Alliance, there has been no pet beast with triple attributes so far, but carrying part of the spiritual energy to evolve will definitely increase the energy limit and charging speed.

However, according to Russell’s consistent standards for selecting cultivation materials, the Tears of Resentment will naturally not be perfect, otherwise its price would have been sky-high. How could it be purchased in large quantities with just the money from selling worm silk.

To be precise, the side effects of Tears of Resentment are much more serious than eating a bad stomach.

Due to the strong mental fluctuations of the resentful demon that remains, if you continue to consume the teardrops of resentment, the abilities in the pet’s body will be disrupted, and a lot of chaotic energy without attributes will be produced.

Not only does this energy have no benefit, but it will occupy potential space and reduce the upper limit of the pet beast’s growth.

Because of this, in the eyes of many beast masters, allowing pet beasts to eat the Gloomy Teardrops to gain a short-term improvement in strength is a typical act of encouraging others.

In the case of severe oversupply, the actual selling price of the Gloomy Teardrops was similar to that of many third-level materials. Russell only spent a few thousand credits to buy a large bucket back.Cheap and energy-rich cultivation materials are naturally not to be missed.

As for chaotic energy and so on... no big deal, just be tired.

Compared to the Gloomy Tears with complex attributes and various functions, the second cultivation material he purchased seemed much more ordinary.

Rose dew, a third-level plant material, has almost nothing special except that it perfectly matches the feeding habits of moth pets.

In the wild, most of the time moth pet beasts eat food such as nectar and condensation. Although these things have plant properties, after digestion, they can also be converted into other required energy properties in their bodies.

This kind of eating behavior whose main purpose is to fill the stomach, whether in terms of energy conversion efficiency or the rationality of the conversion ratio, is far inferior to targeted cultivation.

However, this does not mean that eating nectar is completely unnecessary.

After all, Ayou’s body is a moth, not a ghost or an elemental creature. If it does not eat serious food for a long time, or if the insect energy in the body is too thin, its development is likely to stagnate.

Only by taking supplements with food can you grow faster and taller!
As for the Great Knife Mantis, its steel properties are still very weak at present. In the short term, it will have to continue to eat softened steel bristles to increase the hardness of its alloy claws.

…………

When a pet beast first comes into contact with a kind of cultivation material suitable for itself, the cultivation effect will be most obvious. After eating the tears of resentment for a few days, the dark energy lingering between Ayou’s wings has solidified a lot. From a distance, it is no longer weak. The Nightmare is waiting for the ghost pet beast.

The day before participating in the semi-finals, Russell, as usual, removed the chaotic energy from Ayou who had finished sucking the tears of resentment, and took a closer look at its detailed information.

”UFO Hawkmoth

Attributes: insect, ghost

Bloodline Level: Silver
Life energy level: Level

Skills: Dark Scale Powder, Butterfly Shadow, Nether Explosion, Shadow Arrow
Growth progress: 31%

Among them, insect energy accounts for 16%, ghost energy accounts for 11%, and spiritual energy accounts for 4%.

Ability development: Mental barrier (not yet understood, mental resistance proficiency 24%)”

Nowadays, Ayou’s growth progress has reached nearly one-third. Although it will not be able to evolve again for a while, its strength has made great progress compared with when it first emerged from the cocoon.

This progress not only means that skills have been greatly optimized, but also includes the growth of basic attributes.

After all, each level of life energy is also divided into early, middle and late stages. If two pet beasts of the same level have just crossed the threshold and the growth progress of the other is approaching the full value, naturally the attributes of the latter will be the best. Higher, hard power will be stronger.

Seeing that Ayou and Daodao Mantis were steadily improving in strength, Russell was in a good mood and was looking forward to the upcoming rookie group competition semi-finals with confidence.
