The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 412 - 238: The Method of Guessing Coins with 100% Accuracy
Chapter 412: Chapter 238: The Method of Guessing Coins with 100% AccuracyJiang Shu looked around at the hostages seated in the hall. Their mouths were gagged with cloth strips, rendering them speechless, but their eyes spoke volumes, ablaze with anticipation and tension.

Red Clo had a smug grin plastered across his face.

Clearly, he had come prepared for today’s Coin guessing game.

Well-prepared indeed.

Jiang Shu inwardly sensed that this was going to be tricky.

So he suddenly made his move, reaching for Clo’s two clenched fists and pressing them simultaneously.

It was distinctly obvious that there was a difference in resistance between the two fists.

Because of the tight grip on the coin, the muscles of the hand holding it would involuntarily tense. When another person pressed this clenched fist in such a state, its resistance would increase unconsciously.

Thus, there was a noticeable difference in Red Clo’s left and right hands when pressed at the same time.

The left hand.

Its resistance was stronger.

Given that Jiang Shu’s move was a sudden test, there was a high probability that the coin was hidden in this left hand.

”Left hand,” Jiang Shu declared confidently.

”Why did you touch my hands? Like this!” This unexpected move seemed to shock Red Clo as he slowly opened his left hand, revealing the shiny silver coin resting in his palm.

”The rules never said touching was prohibited; my actions are still within the bounds of the rules,” Jiang Shu shrugged off, his face void of any guilt.

Just as he said, it was within the allowed actions of the rules.

The hostages’ eyes glinted with surprise. They certainly didn’t think Jiang Shu was despicable. Instead, they found Jiang Shu’s innovative thinking in finding a new approach to the problem extremely creative.

Truly a Magician.

If critics had been watching this scene through a video, they surely would have decried Jiang Shu as a trashy weasel, employing petty cleverness unfit for the public eye, even though Red Clo himself tacitly consented to the outcome of this first round.

Of course, if these critics were among the hostages, they’d probably be cheering ’666’ instead.

Right now, Jiang Shu wasn’t concerning himself with such trivial matters.

His first-round move was merely a probe, a way to analyze Red Clo’s inner thoughts whether he guessed correctly or not.

If he was right, it indicated that Red Clo was actually quite nervous. His expressions couldn’t show it, but those minute muscle details would inadvertently give him away.

In other words, Red Clo still fell under the category of an average spectator, and Jiang Shu could counter him with his extensive experience.

If he was wrong, then Jiang Shu needed to be more cautious.

If the left hand resisted the press while the coin was in the right hand, it meant Red Clo was consciously sending misleading signals—a bad sign for Jiang Shu.

Fortunately, it seemed Red Clo’s mental prowess was far from reaching Black Kler’s level.

Now it was Jiang Shu’s turn to hide the coin.

”Here, hide it well,” Red Clo said earnestly as he passed over the coin.

Jiang Shu took the coin without a word. As Red Clo had been holding it for a while, it still retained his warmth.

He carefully clenched it, then concealed it behind his back, fingers of both hands continuously passing the coin back and forth.

Where to hide it was not important; what mattered was how to disguise the true hiding spot.

Jiang Shu was well aware of this, so from the outset, he maintained absolute calm inside, leaving no room for slips.

He brought out both fists at the same time, completely relaxed his shoulders, and kept his gaze fixed on Red Clo in front, careful not to reveal any details in his eyes.

His fists clenched tightly simultaneously, the muscles of both hands tensed.

Red Clo might try to imitate him, suddenly pressing both fists, but as Jiang Shu’s hands were constantly exerting force, the resistance to the press was evenly matched, thwarting Red Clo from making any deductions.

The audience on the scene grew tense.

”Let’s see...” Red Clo stroked his chin. As he observed Jiang Shu’s expression, he stretched out both hands, pressing on Jiang Shu’s fists just as Jiang Shu had done to him.

But Jiang Shu’s fists dropped and bounced back in unison, even falling an identical distance, which made it impossible to discern anything.

”Right hand,” Red Clo ultimately couldn’t guess correctly through this method and made a random guess.

Jiang Shu opened both hands at the same time, with the coin lying in his left hand.

He had won the first round, making the score one to zero.

He had taken the advantage.

This was also what the audience was thinking internally.

Their anxiety finally eased a bit; it seemed that Jiang Shu was going to win over Clo just as they had hoped.

”Ah, guessed wrong,” showed a touch of disappointment on Red Clo’s face, but he just shrugged and said nothing more before taking back the coin from Jiang Shu and started to hide it behind his back again.

A few seconds later, he quickly presented his clenched fists in front of him, but this time, he performed a slight trick with his movements.

Left hand forward, right hand back; his fists advanced in staggered succession with an easy and natural motion, though sequential, they weren’t significantly distinct—it appeared just as Jiang Shu had anticipated while contemplating the characteristic of hiding the coin.
