The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 43 - 42 Kirie’s face is slightly red
Chapter 43: Chapter 42 Kirie’s face is slightly redIt was two in the afternoon when Jiang Shu walked into the prop shop located in Entertainment District C. The shop owner was a tall man, a man of few words, but his craftsmanship was excellent and the quality of his creations was outstanding.

The most crucial aspect was that in this shop, you could order custom props without placing a deposit. As long as you were with a government organization and left an identity proof, you could pay in full when the props were ready.

This rule had saved his life.

”Are the props I ordered last time ready?” Jiang Shu asked the shop owner.

The owner looked up at him, ”They’re all packed, they’re a bit heavy.”

”No problem.” Jiang Shu nodded, ”And I’d like to order another knife, metal with an edge.”

”What style?” the owner didn’t look up, just fumbled with the parts in his hand, his voice deep.

”Like this.” Jiang Shu handed him a piece of paper with a simple design sketched on it.

The owner took the paper, glanced at it, and furrowed his brows, ”Is this... an extended Mud Knife?”

”Just like that,” Jiang Shu chuckled, offering no explanation, ”Make sure the handle connection is sturdy, not easily broken.”

”A thousand.” the owner muttered, ”Register your information here if you want it.”

”I’ll take it, I’ll take it.” Jiang Shu went over to input his information, then asked, ”Do you have any wooden swords for practice? In stock, I need a few.”

The owner responded, ”One hundred each.”

”Okay, give me one.” Jiang Shu paid, then carried the large box the owner had packed out to a taxi and returned to the theater.

The box contained the props he had custom ordered for tomorrow’s magic show, and most of his money had been invested here as well.

Back at the Magic House, after tidying up, he entered the storage room, locked the door, turned on the light, and began practicing his self-created Ground Rolling Blade Skill.

Of course, based on careful considerations of human biomechanics by persons A, B, C, and D, this blade technique had its practical merits.

It was just expensive on clothes and somewhat sleazy, spinning like a top.

The technique was used by one person and four spirits together, primarily involving the Tablet Spirit manipulating the enemy’s (a sculpture) shadow around Jiang Shu for a guaranteed fatal strike.

After practicing for a while, he began to experiment with his ability ”Shadow Cutting.”

After using it about ten times, Jiang Shu distinctly felt dizzy and although he could continue, he wasn’t sure if it could cause brain damage, so he stopped.

”That means, it consumes spiritual power,” Jiang Shu glanced at the time and sat down to rest.

About half an hour later, although he still felt slightly dizzy, he was mostly okay, similar to the feeling of just waking up from a nap.

He picked up a wooden sword, prepared to practice a bit more, when a message from Kirie came in.

”I’m at your office door, where are you?”

Already here?

Jiang Shu nodded, picked up the wooden sword, and opened the storage room door.

Kirie Tsukimiya stood at the door of the Magic House with a cart, which held his shower unit, an electric frying pan, and her small bag.

She was wearing a light-colored dress full of youthful charm, with a light gray, large cloth hat on her head, looking elegant and cute.

”Here.” Jiang Shu pushed the door open, suddenly appearing beside her, took her in with a swift gesture, and said, ”Thank you.”

”No... no need, no need to thank me,” Kirie, staring at the gentle Jiang Shu in front of her, nervously stumbled over her words.

She glanced at the storage room behind Jiang Shu, it was just a fleeting glimpse, but the image was clearly captured by her Prosthetic Eye.

There was a light inside, wooden swords, and some sculptures.

It looked like he’d just been practicing with swords in this room?

Kirie pondered the implications here and suddenly, a realization struck her and she almost burst into tears.

The sculptures...

The sculptures were all of women, and they were all dressed in orange...

Orange clothes...

Kirie...

Practicing with swords on me...

”What’s wrong?” Jiang Shu sensed something was off with Kirie, so he tentatively used the Derivative Entry of Spirit Perception.

And then he saw a vast expanse of green.

Green? What does that mean?

”I... you...” Kirie, looking like she was about to cry, continued, ”I’ll go install the shower.”

”Oh.” Jiang Shu nodded and then thanked her, ”Thanks for that, and about the money...”

”No need, no need, don’t worry about the money,” Kirie hurriedly shook her head, then carrying the shower unit, entered the bathroom and with a ”bang,” shut the door.

——

In front of Jiang Shu was an entirely black table, which was what he had ordered from the prop shop. It had cost him over ten thousand, almost all of Wolf’s twenty thousand had basically been invested here.

Though called a table, it was actually a black cube. From the outside, it appeared to be a normal table, but it contained hidden mechanisms for performing tomorrow’s magic.

The top was covered with a fine layer of black velvet, and the sides were surrounded by frame-like decorations, with these two setups making sure that no shadows of objects on the table could be seen, thus keeping the mechanics hidden from the naked eye.

After testing the mechanisms inside the table, Jiang Shu nodded contentedly. For the price he paid, this multifunctional magic table was indeed a great deal.

After moving the magic table to a corner, he turned to the electric frying pan that Kirie had brought, plugged it in, took some vegetables and rice from the refrigerator, and went out to the hallway restroom to wash them.

Luckily, before he moved in with Sister Ruo, she barely ate Chinese food, so the rice cooker was his request, and now he also inherited these essential ingredients for Chinese cooking.
