Earth's Greatest Magus

Soleo Fortress

Deep within its fortified walls, Azrazel, the planet’s highest-ranking elven commander, lay motionless upon a gilded bed. His once-proud, radiant form was now reduced to an ashen, pallid state. The air around him was heavy with the scent of potent herbs and magic-infused remedies, all futile in the face of the relentless, icy poison coursing through his veins.

For days, Azrazel had waged a desperate battle—not against an enemy he could see but against the aftermath of a brutal sneak attack by the human Alliance’s infamous ghost blade units. Their precision strike had left him grievously wounded, his soul locked in an unending struggle to fend off the invasive cold energy that had intertwined with his essence.

His breaths had faltered days ago, leaving his body devoid of life’s rhythm. Yet, his indomitable will refused to yield. His form remained, not as a vessel of vitality, but as a last battleground for his soul.

Healers and apothecaries in the fortress had deemed his condition critical. Many urged that he be transported far from the chaos of war to heal in a place of safety. But Azrazel, as proud as he was ruthless, had dismissed them all. He would not abandon his post. He had vowed to see the culmination of their plans—the Final Days—unfold under his command.

A week passed, and his condition showed no improvement. The mighty Azrazel, feared and respected in equal measure, now seemed a shadow of his former self.

On this night, like many before, a soft glow illuminated the room. The fortress’s healers had long since left him in peace, but one figure remained steadfast. A beautiful elven woman approached his bedside, her delicate features masked by sorrow. Her long, silken hair shimmered in the dim light as she knelt beside him. Her voice, gentle and melodic, broke the oppressive silence.

“I know you can win this, my love… You are the great Azrazel,” As the female elf whispered her words of devotion, she extended her hands over Azrazel’s chest, her delicate fingers shimmering with the glow of fire magic. She poured her energy into him, desperately trying to ignite the fading embers of his soul. The warmth of her spell mingled with the icy chill that had claimed his body.

“…You are right to stay,” she murmured, “You should not let that Demon take your hard-earned glory…”

Despite her efforts, Azrazel’s ashen features remained unmoving. The faint flicker of life within him wavered, and then, slowly, it began to fade entirely. The fire spell seemed to cradle his soul in its final moments, but it could not hold back the inevitable. The icy poison, foreign and insidious, crept further, solidifying into crystalline frost that spread across his body.

The moment his form was encased in glimmering ice, a faint, almost imperceptible smile curled on the female lips before she suddenly erupted into anguished cries.

“My Lord… I will avenge you!!. I will witness those humans burn for you!”

Her grief turned to resolve, and her fiery aura flared, reflecting the anger boiling within her heart. She sat in solemn vigil beside him for hours, until a knock echoed through the somber chamber. A messenger, his words broke the silence.

“My Lady, your presence is requested at the meeting.”

She quickly rose and made her way toward the second elven fortress.

The elven army stood arrayed before Galeo Fortress.

Over 30,000 elven warriors clad in armor formed the bulk of the army, among them, 1,000 Magus realm elves served as the backbone. Towering war machines, dozens of wyverns and ogres in reinforced armor, waiting for the command to unleash destruction.

Within the grand chamber of the fortress, eight Grand Magus elves sat in council. At the head of the room sat Agis the Red Demon, his fiery presence dominating the space. The female elf strode forward, when she reached the center of the chamber, she knelt before Agis, her fiery gaze fixed on him.

“I am Azula, of the Raines Clan,” she declared, “I submit my loyalty to you, my Khan.”

The room fell silent, Agis the Red Demon gazed at her, his crimson eyes narrowing as he scrutinized her.

“Is Lord Azrazel dead?” he asked, his tone sharp and unforgiving.

Azula’s faltered for a moment, her composed demeanor breaking as emotion flooded her expression. “My Lord Azrazel is… in slumber,” she replied. Her words lingered, heavy with grief, before she gathered herself and continued, “My Khan, please let me be the arrow that strikes your enemy.”

Agis regarded her for a moment, his gaze calculating. Then, with a nod, he extended his hand toward her. “Rise, Azula. Follow me, and you shall have your vengeance.”

With the chief commander of the forces incapacitated, Agis’s rise to power was swift and unquestioned. His position as the new commander was solidified, and the discussion quickly turned to the impending operations, with Azula at the forefront, handing out crucial intelligence gathered from the battlefield.

“We have 5 million orcs ready to be unleashed for the Final Day,” Azula reported. “All waiting for your command.” Her words were met with murmurs of approval, the sheer magnitude of the force inspiring confidence among the ranks.

The room buzzed with anticipation, but before the discussions could proceed, one of the other elven commanders spoke up and brought the latest information on the human exodus activity “We cannot allow any more of these vermin to escape. I propose we dispatch a force to cut off their retreat immediately. My unit is prepared to move out!”

Agis, seated at the head of the chamber, leaned forward, his crimson eyes burning with disdain. “I care not for those weaklings,” he said, his voice dripping with contempt. “Our focus should remain on obliterating their Citadel!”

Another commander, spoke up, his tone more cautious. “My Khan, actually… those ‘weaklings’ you speak of have brought down 20 of our Magus and destroyed one of our outposts in the past three days.”

Twenty Magus casualties were not uncommon in times of war; however, the elven commander brought forth information that piqued everyone’s interest. “I received a special tip—this was all orchestrated because of one particular young human Magus listed on our top 10 most wanted list!”

The mention of the Top 10 Most Wanted list caught Agis’s attention. Known for his ruthlessness and skill as a hunter, Agis’s interest piqued instantly. However, he was about to dismiss it when he noticed the individual in question wasn’t even in the Grand Magus realm. But as he read through the details, his expression shifted slightly.

“He… is that Magus… Khaos,”
