Earth's Greatest Magus

The shocking death of the Ghostblade struck the team hard. But as the Grand Magus’s physical form shattered, something unnatural happened—the magus’s soul tore free, rising from the wreckage as a dark, swirling smoke. The shadowy entity wrapped itself around Agis’s form, fusing with him in a violent, spiritual display. The dark smoke coalesced into an intricate chain-like tattoo that spread across the Red Demon’s body, binding him in place.

For the first time, the mighty Agis was forced to stop. His movements faltered, and his dominating presence was replaced by a momentary flicker of shock.

Major Kouga, Dopa, and Archie launched their attacks together. Dopa’s explosive punch ruptured the air with the force of a volcanic eruption, while Archie’s white lightning sword crackled with pure devastation, seeking to cut through Agis’s defenses. Meanwhile, Major Kouga, not missing a beat, drew his twin blades, invoking the power of his most powerful tier 8 technique—[Split the Frozen Hell].

Each attack was honed to pierce even the strongest defenses.

The Red Demon’s eyes flared with incandescent fury, and without hesitation, he unleashed a defensive spell that shook the desert to its core. A shimmering barrier formed around him, a burning crimson aura that expanded into a fiery dome around him. But as the combined attacks hit, the clash was like the heavens colliding.

KABOOMM!!!

The explosion lit up the desert, its shockwave sending Dopa and Archie hurtling backward, thrown like ragdolls by immense force. Yet Kouga remained relentless, his form wreathed in frost as he continued to hammer the swirling cloud of smoke and flame with relentless blasts of ice, each spells a ruthless attempt to break the demon’s defenses.

The sound of shattering ice filled the air as the smoke cleared, revealing the crimson dragon shielding its master with its massive, battered wings. Its scales were riddled with sharp, icy shards, and blood oozed from its wounds. The dragon’s fierce growl tore through the silence, the sheer force of its roar splintering the remaining ice around them.

ROAARR!!

As the dragon spread its wings, the Red Demon was revealed, his chest partially frozen but a sinister smile curling on his face. He glanced down at the dark tattoos etched across his body—the remnants of the Ghost Blade’s soul curse.

“So, this is the infamous Ghostblade soul curse chain… ruthless, indeed.” His voice was laced with dark amusement as he regarded the power that had bound him.

With a growl of defiance, Agis summoned his domain. An inferno erupted around him, flames licking across his armor and body, consuming the chains that held him. His frozen chest began to thaw as the intense heat forced the dark smoke to evaporate. One by one, the tattoo chains disintegrated, unable to withstand the fiery wrath of the Red Demon.

Major Kouga called out to the others. “We can’t waste this chance! Attack him with everything we have!”

Responding without hesitation, Grand Magus Helga unleashed a flurry of soul birds. Ethereal creatures with flaming wings descended upon Agis, each one streaking down like a deadly fireball. Princess Miriel followed, invoking a spell of her own. With a graceful sweep of her hand, mirror-like shards filled the sky, shimmering as they flew toward their target, each shard poised to cut through anything in its path. The spells illuminated the night, transforming the barren desert into a battlefield of light and shadows.

The massive crimson dragon moved with fierce loyalty, positioning itself to shield its master from the relentless barrage of attacks. Blood seeped from wounds as it twisted and turned, deflecting blasts with its thick scales and wings, each maneuver a testament to its unwavering bond with Agis. Despite the pain, the beast persisted, soaring in tight arcs, its powerful form catching blows that would have struck the Red Demon directly.

All five Grand Magus closed in, attacking from every angle, aiming to break through Agis’s defenses and strike at him directly. However, just as they were about to land a critical blow, Agis swung his flaming spear in a swift, brutal arc. The immense force of the swing sent all five Grand Magus reeling backward, their defenses barely holding as they scrambled to regain their footing.

“He’s very strong!” Major Kouga growled, his expression darkening as he watched the Red Demon’s intense flames scorch away the last traces of freezing energy still clinging to his chest.

From the edge of the fray, Emery saw the final remnants of the soul chain tattoo dissipate, each link vanishing in a swirl of smoke—a clear sign that the Ghostblade’s soul had been completely decimated.

Now fully freed from the soul curse, Agis’s strength surged, his aura a blazing, oppressive force that pushed against every Magus in the vicinity. His grin widened, eyes gleaming with a mixture of bloodlust and twisted pleasure. “Is that it?” he mocked, his voice filled with dark amusement. “What other techniques do you have?!”

Seeing the Red Demon’s overwhelming power, Dopa took a deep breath, channeling every ounce of his cosmos energy into his body. His eyes blazed with an intense light as ancient, glowing runes ignited across his skin, each symbol amplifying his strength. His battle power soared, and a visible aura of raw energy pulsed outward, showing the full extent of his unleashed might.

Beside him, Archie, the elderly Grand Magus, decisively cut his palm, letting his blood flow onto his blade. As it merged with the white lightning of his sword, the weapon crackled and shifted to a deadly red hue, crackling with an amplified blood-infused power. The air around him hummed with the raw energy of his red lightning, his face etched with unwavering resolve.

Emery watches the battle with a complex mixture of terror and awe. The Red Demon, despite being in his second cosmos realm, fought with a power that could rival even the grand magus in the third cosmos.

And then, there was the dragon.

[Elder Crimson Dragon]

The beast’s true nature was a terrifying force. Emery couldn’t help but compare it to the Celestial King Mudler, the godly beast he’d once encountered in the Shambala Sea. The dragon’s power alone matched that of a Two Cosmos Grand Magus, and its loyalty to its master made it an unstoppable force in this battle.

What made Agis even more terrifying was the seamless synergy between him and the crimson dragon. Their combined strength turned the battle into a deadly dance, with each maneuver carefully executed to amplify the other’s power.

The dragon’s vast mobility allowed it to evade attacks with grace, while its tail struck like a whip, keeping opponents at a constant distance. Its roar created shockwaves that disrupted spells, and the scorching flames it unleashed blended effortlessly with the rider’s spear strikes, turning Agis into a deadly force just below the supreme magus level.

Emery, positioned at a safe distance, observed the chaos with cautious intensity. He knew his current Magus realm status made him almost invisible to the Red Demon’s senses. He realized that, in terms of raw skill and power, he was outmatched—Kouga’s mastery of ice magic, Archie’s formidable swordsmanship, Dopa’s titanic strength, and Helga’s soul attacks were each stronger than his own in these domains. There was probably nothing in his arsenal to directly challenge the Red Demon.

Instead of joining recklessly, Emery decided to focus on what mattered most—survival. His mind raced, analyzing every aspect of the battlefield, looking for an opening.

As he watched the combat unfold, he started carefully probing Agis’s battlefield domain, hoping to find a weakness, some flaw. If he could identify the right pattern, at the right moment, he could help find an exit plan for the group.

The relentless clash of power continued, the skies filled with bursts of energy, while sparks of fire and lightning lit up the dark desert night.

Nearly a hundred exchanges passed, and both sides were now fully aware of each other’s capabilities. The Red Demon halted momentarily, a cruel smirk spreading across his face as he addressed his opponents.

“If you have nothing else… it’s time to finish this.”

Agis declared, his words dripping with malice. The pressure from his mere presence seemed to suffocate the air, and all the magus could feel the weight of his threat. “Who should I kill next?” he continued, his eyes gleaming with twisted amusement as he scanned the group, his spear raised, ready to claim his next victim.
