Earth's Greatest Magus

Grand Magus Knox was indeed one of the most formidable grand magus in the one cosmos realm, which explained why none of the other instructors dared to challenge him.

His extensive experience in combat allowed him to adapt to Emery’s new style with just a few exchanges. With a swift change, he switched his weapon to a mace and shield—a combination perfectly suited to block Emery’s powerful clashes and counter with even greater force.

BAMM!! BAAMM!! BAMM!!

The explosive collisions between their weapons echoed through the arena, sending waves of excitement through the crowd. The audience was on the edge of their seats, their cheers growing louder with each clash.

After 50 intense exchanges, the combat grand magus had managed to devise a perfect counter for Emery’s Axis Mountain Sword technique.

Once again, Emery found himself increasingly pressured, his movements restricted as Knox’s relentless assault pushed him back into a corner.

The tension rose as Hall 60 acolytes watching from the stands began to grow anxious, sensing that their master might be at his limit. However, to the shock of everyone watching, Emery once again switched tactics. This time, he drew his lightsaber and activated the [Light Soaring Wing] on his back. In an instant, his speed increased exponentially, turning him into a blur of motion.

As he zipped around, his light sword slashed through the air with precision. Emery skillfully wove his light sword techniques with his nature spells, creating a deadly combination. His movements were fluid, a seamless blend of offense and defense while his jade roots snaked through the arena, closing in on Grand Magus Knox from all directions, attempting to bind and strike him down.

“How many styles can you possibly master?!” Knox roared, his irritation now evident as he found himself forced to adapt once more. Speed was his primary weakness, and Emery was exploiting it masterfully.

To counter this, the general unleashed an advanced earth spell, encasing his body in a layer of hardened stone that acted as armor. The arena itself responded to his power, as the ground shifted and stone pillars sprouted up, turning the battlefield into a maze of obstacles that severely limited Emery’s mobility and hindered his plant-based attacks.

Not stopping there, Knox switched weapons once more. This time, he drew out two hand axes, weapons perfectly suited for tearing through Emery’s roots and meeting his quick strikes head-on.

“Whatever style you have, I can counter!!” Knox declared, his voice booming with confidence.

The audience held their breath, captivated by the relentless back-and-forth between the two combatants. Each move, each counter, pushed both fighters closer to their limits, and the outcome of the battle hung in the balance.

Emery maintained his calm demeanor as he responded, “What about this one, then?”

Though the previous strategy hadn’t secured him the upper hand, it had accomplished its intended purpose—keeping the combat-hardened Grand Magus Knox occupied while he prepared for the next one.

In a move that shocked the audience, Emery extended his left arm, and with a swift motion, severed it cleanly at the elbow. The crowd gasped, as blood splattered across the arena floor. But Emery remained unflinching, his expression resolute. He immediately cast a spell and the severed arm began to mutate, its flesh twisting and reforming until it became a fully realized clone and armed it with his [Embernight Sword].

As soon as the first clone was fully formed, Emery didn’t hesitate—he reached for his right arm, slicing it off with equal precision. The onlookers could hardly believe their eyes as the second severed limb morphed and grew, quickly taking on Emery’s likeness. This clone was equipped with his [Savage Blade].

Grand Magus Knox stared in disbelief, his brows furrowing in confusion and frustration. “What is this?! You’ve mastered the transformation path as well?” His voice was filled with a mix of awe and irritation as he tried to make sense of the situation.

The two clones were the culmination of Emery’s intense training over the last two months. Despite each clone having the spirit force of only a Halfmoon Magus, their physical prowess was augmented by Emery’s rank 9 genes, giving them a physique that rivaled that of his real body.

While the two clones engaged the Grand Magus, each displaying their unique fighting style—one with explosive, relentless attacks, the other blinking in and out of sight to strike from unpredictable angles—Emery’s main body remained focused on a different strategy. He kept his distance, launching precise ranged attacks while expertly dodging the powerful strikes coming his way. All the while, he allowed his body time to regenerate his lost arms.

The creation of three true clones was a demanding task, one that taxed his soul to its limits. Such an effort would likely leave him weakened for days, but Emery had calculated the risk. He wasn’t just fighting for a win—he was staging a spectacle. Each move, each clone, and each spell was a deliberate display of his versatility and power, designed to captivate the thousands of spectators watching intently.

This battle was more than just a fight; it was an opportunity. By showcasing his wide range of abilities, Emery aimed to attract new acolytes to his hall in the upcoming year’s recruitment.

Multiple elements—darkness, light, fire, wind, plant, and earth—each wielding a unique fighting style. This strategic diversity pushed Grand Magus Knox to his limits, forcing him to adapt rapidly to the barrage of attacks. The combat veteran found himself increasingly challenged as the situation became more complex with each passing moment.

As soon as Emery’s arms had fully regenerated, he rejoined the battle, uniting with his two clones. The trio, synchronized in both thought and action, relentlessly pressured the general. Knox, despite his formidable skills, found himself overwhelmed by their combined assault.

Finally, the relentless barrage forced Knox to his knees. With a heavy breath, he acknowledged his defeat.

“You win,” he admitted, conceding the battle.

A wave of exhilaration swept through the acolytes of Hall 60. “Master!! We did it!! We did it!!!” they shouted, their voices echoing with triumph.

Their hard-fought victory was finally secured, and the entire hall erupted in cheers. Emery’s name echoed through the crowd, carrying on the voices and whispers of those who had witnessed the battle. His past achievements resurfaced, adding to the growing buzz around his reputation. With his objectives achieved, Emery turned his attention to the intense battles unfolding among the top 10 halls. This time, he found himself in the spectators’ section, watching closely as his daughter and the strongest half-blood acolytes fought to hold onto their place in the top ranks.
