Earth's Greatest Magus

The two-week deadline imposed by Roran added even more pressure to Emery’s already hectic schedule. He was forced to juggle his time carefully, splitting his focus between the academy—especially guiding Shinta—and preparing for the grand opening of the apothecary shop in Golden City.

As the days passed and Emery delved deeper into learning the true clone technique, he realized that Roran’s intention of leaving the clone was not just to teach him the skill. The clone served as a living blueprint for Emery to study. By closely examining its physiology, he could gain insight into the origin of the flesh, bones, organs, and even the spirit core that made it a true clone.

Any tier 8-level spell typically required months of intense practice, but this technique was a complex amalgamation of three distinct tier 7-level spells. The first of these was the [Wyrmwood Body], a powerful spell that allowed the creation of a resilient, regenerating form. The first spell, [Wyrmwood Body], was the easiest for Emery to master due to its reliance on the caster’s blood. Emery’s rank 9 blood gene made this process smoother, and the spell’s foundation, an advanced-level plant and water regeneration technique, aligned perfectly with his deep comprehension of nature law. Given his expertise in both plant and water elements, Emery found the spell highly compatible with his abilities. Within just a few days, he successfully created a true clone body that was an identical replica of himself, marking a significant achievement.

The next spell, [Soul-Splitting], posed a greater challenge despite being a common high-grade spell typically reserved for those at the supreme level or advanced spirit masters. Although Emery was able to grasp the technique due to his strong soul force and experience with similar spells, the process carried significant risks. Each time a split soul was destroyed, it inflicted damage on his original soul.

The final step in creating the true clone demanded absolute precision, as any mistake of the third spell [Soulforge Binding] could result in severe consequences for both the clone and Emery’s original form.

The creation of intricate rune formations, costing millions of spirit stones for high-grade materials. Each failure resulted in intense mental exhaustion, forcing Emery to rely on multiple high-grade soul-restoration pills for recovery, as well as his newly made [Deep Sea Celestial Serum] for additional enhancement.

As the two-week deadline passed, Roran’s clone finally dissipated, collapsing into a mass of blood. However, even in its disintegration, Emery found valuable insights. Analyzing the process of the clone’s breakdown provided crucial understanding, ultimately leading to his success in mastering the most basic level of the true clone technique.

In his success, Emery managed to create a clone with the strength of a crescent moon magus. This clone, equipped with recent memories identical to Emery’s own, had limited capabilities, including casting tier 5 spells and accessing the initial stage of his wolf transformations.

The most notable feature of the clone was its ability to enter Emery’s Khaos Gate, effectively becoming a personal Khaos seed until it disintegrated within less than 12 hours bringing back partial new memory experience by the soul.

Overall, it was an impressive spell with versatile applications, allowing Emery to experiment in ways he hadn’t before. Although it was still far from ideal, this achievement laid a solid foundation for further mastery of the technique in the future, opening doors to greater possibilities and advancements in his abilities

The intense mental and physical exhaustion from the process forced Emery into a deep, 24-hour sleep to recover. Once he regained his strength, he finally had the time and clarity to attend to his responsibilities as a Magus Academy instructor.

“Master, it’s so good to have you back!”

The eager voices of his acolytes greeted Emery as he entered Hall 60, their enthusiasm a stark reminder of the time he had been away. Their warm welcome only deepened his sense of guilt for not having been able to devote more time to their training. He knew they had been working hard in his absence, but the sight of their eager faces made him realize just how much he had missed.

“Alright, Let’s see all the progress you’ve made.”

Among the acolytes, three stood out in particular—those who had spent the past two months within his Khaos space. Their progress was nothing short of remarkable. Ha Ron and King Rig had both broken through two levels, reaching six pillars and advancing to the peak of mid-stage rank 9 acolytes.

The power emanating from them was palpable, though Emery could tell they still struggled with controlling the volatile Khaos energy. It was clear, however, that with a few more months of focused training, they would soon master it. The two had already become some of the strongest acolytes in Hall 60, rivaling even Kat and Damo in strength.

As for Dillion, he had reached eight pillars but had been deliberately holding back his breakthrough. Emery could see that Dillion was focused on solidifying his newfound comprehension of the law of gravity before making the next leap. Despite not advancing further, his decision to refine his understanding kept him undefeated among them.

For the three acolytes who had shown the most progress, Emery knew it was essential to refine their combat skills further. Beyond continuing their growth in the Khaos hub, he took a personalized approach to their training, guiding each of them to discover the fighting techniques that resonated most with their abilities.

Emery invested in a variety of techniques, ensuring they found the ones that matched their strengths. These techniques were then put to the test in intense sparring sessions, not only against each other but also against the young Chizpur.

Titus and Armenius, the two earth acolytes, had also made commendable strides, particularly in enhancing their spirit reading capabilities. Titus, now more confident, demonstrated impressive synergy with his young lightning tiger, executing coordinated attacks that were both swift and powerful.

Armenius, on the other hand, had mastered the control of four puppets simultaneously, using them with precision to execute complex maneuvers. Emery was pleased to see their progress; their unique abilities added valuable diversity to the group’s overall strength.

Then there were Hardy and Ulong, who remained the most challenging of the group. Their lack of motivation to train had been a persistent issue, but Emery noted that they had at least found a way to integrate themselves into the team dynamic. Though they were not the most dedicated, they contributed in their own ways, helping to solidify the group’s cohesion.

At the conclusion of the evaluations, Emery came to a stark realization: many of the acolytes displayed limited talent in their cultivation. While he firmly believed that cultivation should not be forced upon anyone, he recognized that the physical aspects of training had fewer restrictions and could be harnessed to enhance their overall abilities.

With a few encouraging words, Emery decided to ramp up their physical training regimen, emphasizing the importance of building a strong foundation.

He announced a new incentive: once the acolytes reached specific physical milestones, he would reward them with the next best apothecary pills tailored to their needs.

The promise of such rewards ignited excitement among the group, motivating them to push their limits and strive for the goals set before them. They eagerly accepted the challenge, ready to dedicate themselves to improving their physical capabilities.

For the two insectoid half-bloods, Blaine and Bellana, their needs were distinctly specialized compared to the other acolytes.

Emery called them in to discuss their unique requirements, presenting the detailed analysis he had received from the gene facility. He walked them through the complexities of the analysis and explained the potential benefits of a specialized potion designed specifically for their physiology. However, Emery also made it clear that this would involve a series of experimental trials, which carried certain risks.

Blaine, as usual, was cautious and reluctant to accept Emery’s offer outright. His distrust was evident, but Emery could see that Blaine’s interest was piqued, enough to prompt him to relay the information to their factions.

“I will inform the elders about this. They will make the final decision for us,” Blaine said.

While Emery awaited their decision and the elders’ verdict, he received some exciting news: Shinta had achieved a breakthrough in the Origin Stone Room. This was a significant milestone in her development, and with it, Emery might have an opportunity to spend more time with his daughter.
