Cursed Immortality

Chapter 986: Star Auction Virtual House! (3)

Within thousands of star seats, a woman was looking at the interface in front of her, which displayed an announcement she had just received.

_____

The next moment, the Auction Spirit’s voice rang within the dome-seat, ”Your seat has been sealed for verification. Please remain seated while the asset is transferred through the secured teleportation channel. Any movement or attempt to log out will result in penalty enforcement.”

A subtle, radiant golden glow would envelop her star seat, which no one could see, maintaining anonymity unless the user chose otherwise.

A slow-rotating sigil appeared in front of her, indicating that the items were ready to be claimed.

Nyx looked at the rotating sigil and the text above it, which reads, ’Claim Items?’

She sent a mental message to her body, ”Hey, the item is coming, get ready!”

The next moment, she touched the sigil before it instantly turned into countless light particles.

”Item has successfully delivered and claimed!”

Right after she received this message, she also received confirmation from her sponsor, who she was representing in today’s in-house auction: Jacob!

Today, Nyx wasn’t participating in this inn-house auction just for fun, or it wasn’t the main reason, because even if she wanted to, Jacob would never have allowed her, nor would she have spent 500,000 million ZC on a VIP ticket. At the same time, she had ’forgotten’ to mention the 50 million ZC dome-seat.

The main reason she was able to gain Jacob’s permission was because of the news about the Yang Flame, which, by the way, she herself had delivered because she knew Jacob wanted the Yang Flame.

Just as she thought, his interest instantly piqued, and without wasting time, he allowed her to participate in this auction instead of using his own Star ID. Since Nyx had managed to interfere with Constant Baron-0 and took control of Spirit Ripper Formation, her Star ID was still secured.

Furthermore, it was Nyx’s first time participating in an auction, so she wanted to experience its novelty, and she was doing her job faithfully.

All she needed to do was tell Jacob which item was being auctioned and then let him decide if he wanted to bid on it or not; money wasn’t a problem at all, since Jacob had plenty of Star Crystals.

In the end, Jacob showed interest in the Revile Elixir, which gave Nyx the chance to bid for it using Jacob’s wealth. She felt exhilarated while bidding and, in the end, won the bid. It was just like winning the gamble, and more fun than she had imagined.

Still, she didn’t dare to show it, or she might not get another chance like this ever, so she appeared extremely solemn.

Right after she claimed the item, the following item appeared, and she quickly told Jacob with anticipation as if she couldn’t wait to bid. But since it was another Legendary Noble Rank weapon, Jacob didn’t show any interest at all.

However, it didn’t just stop with this item, for Jacob didn’t show any reaction to any item that came after item number 2, making Nyx secretly frustrated as she silently cursed the Star Auction Virtual House for being so poor and bland.

Until an item does appeared...

[Item No. 16: An incomplete blueprint of a Magic Technology Weapon–Basic Legendary Lord Rank]

[Name: Soul Ballistic Spear]

[Item Details: An ancient blueprint found in the ruins of an unknown magic kingdom within the Great Cosmic Continent of Gemini. It is only 36% with the deception of creating an explosive cocktail that can directly target a soul. Despite its incomplete status, it’s a valuable blueprint to have for any magic smith interested in explosives!]

[Starting Bid: 10,000 Legendary Lord Rank Star Crystals]

Not to mention Jacob; even Nyx was greatly intrigued by this item because she was also Jacob’s apprentice. The moment she told him about it, she wasn’t even surprised when he said matter-of-factly, ’Buy it at any cost!’

But they weren’t the only ones who wanted this incomplete blueprint; in fact, as soon as the bidding started, multiple high-tier bids began to clash at rapid intervals, especially from Star Seats.

Nyx looked at the holographic projection of the Soul Ballistic Spear in front of her and also at the massive floating projection above the central stage, which showed the bidding war.

The visuals on the central stage were stunning as the price shot for the item. With each new bid raise, a voice echoes within the dome seats,

”Bid increased: 26,000 Star Crystals (Legendary Lord Rank) by [Anonymous...]”

”Bid increased: 30,000 Star Crystals (Legendary Lord Rank) by [Anonymous...]!”

Furthermore, with each bid, the audience sees the item’s glow fluctuate, becoming brighter. After every significant increase, a shockwave of virtual pressure radiates through the auction floor—purely visual and dramatic.

If a bid were especially aggressive, it would appear with a special animation of a fiery blade slicing through previous numbers or a comet striking the stage.

It was like watching a tense fight rather than simple bidding.

Nyx didn’t hesitate as the time was quickly passing, and she added a bid by simply ordering, ”50,000 Star Crystals!”

The next moment, her bid instantly turned into a fiery blade and cut the previous bid, making Nyx feel profound mirth and elation.

However, at this moment, another fiery blade rose and cut apart her bid.

”Bid increased: 100,000 Star Crystals (Legendary Lord Rank) by [Blunt Alchemy Hammer]”

Not only did this bidder directly increase the bid by fifty-thousand star crystals, but they didn’t even bother to hide their Star ID.

However, for some reason, the moment this star ID appeared, the bidding seemed to stop as if afraid of offending this Blunt Alchemy Hammer.

Even Nyx frowned slightly because she also knew Blunt Alchemy Hammer Star ID for this belonged to none other than the Hammer King, the most famous magic smith and top Alchemist King of the Alchemy Guild!

Everyone knew the Alchemy Guild and their famous Alchemy King Council without any doubt. Furthermore, the Star IDs of the Alchemist Kings were famous; in fact, every Legendary King’s Star ID was famous because of their regal statuses.

Some legendary kings, like Nyx, liked to keep themselves hidden so that others wouldn’t know about them. Another reason was that they also didn’t have strong backgrounds to support them, while also protecting themselves from being schemed against.

But those famous Legendary Kings, the top factions, didn’t need to hide their statues at all; on the contrary, every time a legendary king is born among these powers, they’ll announce it to the public and hold massive celebrations as a show of their power.

Anyhow, now that the Hammer King had revealed himself in this auction and showed interest in this item, no one dared to bid since it was meaningless to contend against an Alchemy King’s wealth, not to mention antagonizing a Legendary King was not a good idea.

But Nyx, she instantly felt challenged and scoffed, ”Tsk, tsk, others might be afraid of him, but too bad, he picked the wrong person to fight against. Continue to bid if you want that ’butcher’ to pay you a visit and then get ’cooked’.

”Increase the bid by 50,000 Star Crystals!

”Bid increased: 150,000 Star Crystals (Legendary Lord Rank) by [Anonymous483934029]”
