Cursed Immortality

Chapter 978: The Star Void Servers

With Constant Baron-0ʼs full support, Jacob easily gained access to the vast knowledge bank of Alchemy Professions within the Timeless City of ATLASʼs archives.

Although Jacob couldnʼt extract this knowledge himself because of that gigantic hourglassʼs existence, with Constant Baron-0 taking charge, it was extremely easy.

Furthermore, Jacob closely observed the floor with the Timeless Hourglass. Because of his visit to the core of the Divine Soulless Pagoda, he easily deduced that the gigantic hourglass was actually the core of the entire Timeless City, and if someone managed to destroy it, the entire city would be defenseless.

But it was easier said than done because the security here was even stricter than in the Dark Cities, and from Constant Baron-0ʼs behavior, it was clear that the gigantic hourglass wasnʼt under her full control.

She was just an overseer of the Timeless City, the Timeless Overlord, who granted her slightly higher authority than other Constant Barons.

Nonetheless, Jacob could ask such questions because they were the core secrets of the ATLAS, and according to his guise, he should know all of this. He didnʼt want to raise any suspicion and waste all the efforts he had put into weaving this together, especially the 25,000 years of lifespan he had wasted trying to trick Constant Baron-0.

According to Constant Baron-0, they were located on the 101st floor of the Timeless Tower, which is also the highest floor.

But only the Timeless Overlord was allowed to enter this floor, and Jacobʼs sudden intrusion almost alarms the entire ATLAS population of the Timeless City!

However, since this also ʼprovedʼ Jacobʼs identity, Constant Baron-0 took full responsibility. She let him lodge in her personal residence on the 101st floor as long as he wouldnʼt wander around, and Jacob agreed.

Thereupon, Constant Baron-0 delivered Jacob a space ring filled with wisdom tomes within a few hours. There were almost 10,000 of them, and it was Jacobʼs first time seeing so many together. Not even the Myriad Galaxy King had so many wisdom tomes.

Jacob kept his composure and said, ”Thank you.”

At this moment, something came to his mind, and he subtly asked, ”Oh, I was wondering if you knew about the location of the Star Void Servers of the Star Network.”

Constant Baron-0 was startled before she inquired in a deep tone, ”Does the ʼLordʼ want to target the Star Void Servers?”

Jacob suddenly noticed something strange in her tone and changed his response, ”No, itʼs a personal matter. I have deep grievance towards the Star Network, and you mightnʼt have heard of it, but I had helped a Star Lord of Lesser Plains destroy a Star Void Server before.”

Constant Baron-0 didnʼt react to this revelation, and she impassively said, ”I know about it.”

Jacobʼs eyes flickered mysteriously, ”Let me guess, that Star Lord told you about it?”

Constant Baron-0 nodded curtly before she said, ”Heʼs almost obsessed with you, and from my experience, I think he holds some kind of deep grudge against you. Thatʼs aside, I suggest you give up on going after the Star Network because the Star Network of Legendary Plains vastly differs from the Lesser Plains.

”It seems my Lord also didnʼt tell you about the difference because you might disrupt my Lordʼs plans, and I donʼt want to get punished for that! So, you better focus on your task!” Her voice contained both warning and apprehension, for she had already experienced the ʼnightmareʼ once and didnʼt want to experience it again.

ʼI almost blew my cover…ʼ Jacob was glad that he changed his answer after he felt the peculiar fluctuations in Constant Baron-0ʼs emotion when he said, ʼStar Void Server.ʼ From her response, it was clear that there was some kind of difference here and in the lesser plains.

Still, Jacob wanted to know the exact difference. He also wanted to meet this ʼStar Lordʼ to personally see who this guy was and get rid of him.

”Donʼt worry, I know my mission. But can you at least tell me what is different here and in the lesser plains? It helps me avoid some dangerous situations. After all, you guys are fighting against the Star Network for a long time, and it is also my enemy, so I want to learn as much as I can about them, so I wonʼt be at a disadvantage in the future.” Jacob sounded desperate and sincere.

Constant Baron-0 remained silent for a moment before she said, ”If you want to know the difference, you need to understand what a Star Void Server actually is, and from your tone, you clearly didnʼt know that the ʼStar Void Serverʼ doesnʼt exist in the Legendary or Middle Plains.

”As the name suggests, the ʼStar Void Serverʼ is a mere system that provides resources, data, services, and programs to ʼClientsʼ over a Void Network, operating under a client-server model.

”The ʼVoid Networkʼ is administered under what you know as the ʼSAAIʼ of Star Network and ʼUndying Willʼ of Dark Network. Furthermore, the Clients I mentioned are the AIs of the Absolute Factions like Dark Rose of Dark Kingdom, White Sage of Alchemy Guild, and such. They are all ʼClientsʼ of Void Network.

”However, the ʼVoid Networkʼ only works in the Lesser Plains because no existence above Three Steps of Legend can exist there, and thatʼs why the Star Void Servers are used instead of the ʼMachina Unitʼ, which is used in the Legendary Plains.

”Before you ask, the Machina Unit is the top secret of the SAAI and Undying Will, and not even the three absolute factions know about it. In fact, even among the Star Hackers, only the Star Lord and his Vice are privy to this information.

”Only ʼusʼ, the Timeless Wanderers, can exchange this information through the Timeless Hourglass. Thatʼs why, if you want to know what the Machina Unit is and the true secret of the Star Network and Dark Network, you need to pay me something of equal value.

”Consider the prior information, my goodwill, and I have you know, even that much information can only be learned by a Golden Constant.” Constant Baron-0 impassively stated.

Jacob grimaced after learning this unexpected truth behind the SAAI and Undying Will, and he had to admit that the Constant Baron-0 had really chosen the correct point to stop and arouse his curiosity.

ʼI almost forgot sheʼs a goblin…ʼ After glaring at her hooded face, he coldly asked, ”What do you want?”
