Esper Harem in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1063: Down the Cliff

The car rolled down a few times as he fell down the cliff.

BANG!

Although the airbags had opened on the first impact, that wasnʼt enough for the car that was rolled a dozen times at such a force.

When the car reached the bottom, it was upside down and completely crushed. Rudy couldnʼt feel his body anymore, but he was conscious. He slowly opened his eyes and saw his leg hanging in front of his face.

Then, he glanced to his left and saw Eric unconscious. His body also looked disproportionate, but still intact, unlike Rudy.

ʼWhat the fuck happened?ʼ

That was his first thought, which was natural under the condition they were in.

His body took a few seconds to repair itself, but the carʼs parts had penetrated his body, which was making the regeneration process slow.

Rudy used his teeth to take out the metal parts from his shoulder. Once his one hand was fully healed, punched the side and got out of the car.

THUD!

He fell out with his legs severed and the other hand still stuck somewhere on the door side.

”FUCK!” He yelled out loud.

He pulled out his other hand forcedly as the blood spritzed on his face. Then he waited for his body to regenerate fully.

After about a minute, his body was as good as new, with no wounds or even marks— although his clothes were torn completely and he was naked from chest to all bottom.

When Rudy looked at the car, he couldnʼt believe his eyes. It wasnʼt even one third of its size. He then looked up at the cliff and kept looking. It was hundreds of meters tall.

”Fucking hell!”

Rudy rushed to the driverʼs side and carefully pulled out the car parts from the surroundings. Since the first impact was from Rudyʼs side, Eric had time to be suited up, which drastically reduced the damage he received. Even with the suit, Ericʼs body was in a bizarre condition.

Rudy pulled him out of the car and laid him on the ground. He then scanned his body and muttered, ”His bones are completely shattered. His ribs had broken into multiple parts and punctured his lungs. Two even managed to penetrate his heart.

He is dying! What should I do?! Call for help?! No, it would take too much time! And what can the doctor even do?! How will they save him?! Even if they manage to save him, he wouldnʼt be able to do anything! He will be bedridden for his entire life!”

As Rudy frantically thought of a way to save Eric, he looked at his hands that were fully covered in blood.

”What… is this…?” Rudyʼs palms were shining, or rather illuminating.

Rudy increased the intensity of the glow and placed his hands on Eric. Within a few seconds, Ericʼs wounds had begun to close.

Rudy scanned Ericʼs body as he saw his bones being repaired and the parts of his ribs slowly coming out of his lungs and heart.

It wasnʼt a healing process. Calling it a regeneration wouldnʼt make sense. Rather, it was restoration. Ericʼs body was slowly going back to the state it was before the accident.

ʼThatʼs right! Restoration! Why did I forget about this ability? I used it for the first time in that cafe. Angelica was there too! Also, my power is to have any ability I want! I just have to think about its mechanism. Why did I not remember it?ʼ

Ericʼs clothes were in the same state, but since he was wearing a suit, it wasnʼt as bad as Rudy.

After a few minutes, Rudy stopped the restoration process as Ericʼs body was back to normal. However, he couldnʼt help but worry since Eric hadnʼt woken up.

”His heart rate is stable, and he is breathing fine. He should wake up soon… right?”

While Rudy was worrying about Eric, something fell from the sky and landed in the forest a few hundred meters away from him.

”What was that? Is it the same thing that attacked us? If so, why couldnʼt I sense it? Yes, I was distracted, and I had turned all my senses off since I wanted to spend time with my family without listening to the noise around me.

I was so focused on Ericʼs situation that I…ʼ

At first, Rudy thought that they were hit by a car since they had stopped by the cliff— even though they had parked on the side of the area specially reserved for sightseeing. They werenʼt blocking the road to be hit by someone.

Rudy couldnʼt go into the forest and leave Eric defenseless, but he couldnʼt sit and wait, either. He had to do something and find the cause of the accident.

”If it was a living being, I would have sensed them, surely. I donʼt need superpowers to do that. We were hit by something hard and solid, and it wasnʼt big either.”

Rudy activated his supervision as he muttered, ”Letʼs see who wants to die.”

Rudy could see a few miles away with his supervision that included heat vision and x-ray vision. Even though something had fallen into the forest a few seconds ago, when Rudy scanned the area, there was nothing.

”Hmm~” Rudy hummed in amusement and muttered, ”Interesting. Itʼs something that can escape my supervision?”

There couldnʼt be a thing that could disappear into thin air without leaving a trace. Rudy could even see the flow of the wind, and with the super sense activated, he could even hear the noises ants and small flies were making.

Rudyʼs priority was to make sure nothing happened to Eric. He could fight that thing later if it showed itself.

And just when Rudy thought the danger had gone away, a glowing orb came from the forest in Rudyʼs direction.

It was so fast that if Rudy blinked, he would lose sight of it.

Usually, one would run, hide or try to dodge it, but Rudy approached it head on.
