Chapter 18 The Mystery of the Saber

Chapter 18 The Mystery of the Saber
On the virtual system, there is a new interface.

The name of this interface is [Mysterious Area], which is the area that will be opened after the catastrophe is over.

On this new interface, there are a batch of detailed information and locations of mysterious areas to view.

There are quite a lot of mysterious areas open this time. After Lin Xuan has seen it, he feels that the world seems to be targeting him.

Because the cataclysmic world has just opened, there is no means of transportation here. No matter where you go, you have to walk, and you have to rely on the most primitive No. 11 bus to support yourself.

And among all the open mysterious areas, the closest to Lin Xuan is a place called [City of Aurora].

This place is in the [Sword of Waking Insects] area, but the distance from Lin Xuan is 328 kilometers.

What is the concept of 328 kilometers?
The pace of a normal adult is about 5 kilometers per hour. That is to say, if Lin Xuan wants to go to [City of Aurora], he will have to walk for about 65 hours without sleep, which is about two and a half days.

Round trip, that is 5 days.

This is already excluding the time for rest and sleep. You have to drive all night and maintain a constant speed to get there.

There is no way to go.

The excitement belongs to others, and Lin Xuan has nothing.

Watching the players on the world channel chatting in full swing, Lin Xuan didn’t even join in the fun.

Gan!
On this day, when he was squatting at the entrance of the village eating instant noodles, he suddenly saw something familiar.

A saber was discarded in the grass by the roadside.

It was the saber of the undead, the saber on the waist of one of the first batch of apostles of the undead summoned by Lin Xuan.

This saber was borrowed by Lin Xuanwen from the undead, but it was thrown aside when it was no longer used.

Lin Xuan’s eyelids twitched when he saw the saber.

”Why is it still here?” Lin Xuan finished the instant noodles in his mouth and stared at the saber in disbelief.

The saber is held by the undead apostle. When the undead apostle dies, all its items will disappear with its death.

[Tower of the Undead] This is true for any undead summoned. As long as the undead dies, everything that belongs to it will dissipate.

The Undead Apostle Legion has long been extinct.

The undead who owned this saber had long since died in battle.

Why is this knife still there?

It stands to reason that this knife should disappear with the death of the undead, but it is still here?

There must be a demon in the abnormal situation.

Putting down the instant noodles, Lin Xuan walked over and picked up the saber.

He noticed the beautiful handwriting on the saber again: ”Gift from Zhang’s daughter.”

When Lin Xuan got the saber back then, Lin Xuan felt that this sentence had some special meaning, but at that time there were too many ghouls and the situation was not optimistic, so he didn’t think much about it.

Now it seems that this knife does have a story. Is the undead who owns this knife different?

Why is it different?
Holding this saber, Lin Xuan frowned and thought for a while before reaching a conclusion that could only explain this reason.

[Undead Tower] To summon the undead army, you need to collect the souls of the dead. Only when there are enough souls can you cast the undead army.

So where do the souls of the dead come from?
Obviously, it is obtained by killing ghouls, but other than that, are there no other souls?

There should be.

Lin Xuan’s speculation is that in this night dancing town, there is a soul that has been entrenched for a long time, and it wanders around the town. When the [Undead Tower] absorbed the soul, this soul happened to be collected.

This special soul entered the [Tower of the Undead] and was summoned by the [Tower of the Undead] as an apostle of the undead.

Only in this way can we explain why there is an undead who is different from the undead apostles summoned by the [Undead Tower].

Because it was not originally forged from the souls of ghouls.

This is just Lin Xuan’s conjecture. Whether this is actually the case remains to be investigated.

How to inspect it?
Take a look at this saber first.

Since the knife survived, it must have something to do with it.

After carefully observing the saber, looking back and forth, I found that the only clue is the gap on the edge of the knife.

Lin Xuan had noticed this gap a long time ago. When he got the saber, he thought it was because of some hard and heavy object that the blade had a gap. Now that he took a closer look, he found the problem.

The gap on the knife seems to have been recast, with a layer of special material applied to it.

Looking at the blade again, it’s slightly thicker, and compared to its delicate and delicate appearance, it doesn’t seem to fit well.

Is there something XZ in this knife?
Um?This plot... seems to have thought of something, could it be that there are martial arts secrets in it?

”Brother, come here.” Lin Xuan waved to a Ghost King Jun standing at the entrance of the village looking up at the sun.

These guys are not afraid of light. Not only are they not afraid, but they are also very curious. They all look up at the scorching sun above their heads.

Aren’t you afraid of going blind?

The Ghost King’s army is coming.

”Do me a favor, cut from here, be gentle and careful, don’t chop the whole knife into pieces, there may be something hidden inside.” Lin Xuan pointed to the gap in the saber and said.

”Bang!” Ghost King Jun raised the red saber, and slashed precisely on the gap of the undead saber.

The gap was cut open, and sure enough, a folded white paper floated out from the gap.

The paint on the gap is probably to seal the letter.

Seeing the blank paper, Lin Xuan was shocked.

Is it really a martial arts secret book?
Hastily picked up this piece of white paper.

spread out.

It was found that it was a palm-sized piece of paper, and there were rows of beautiful handwriting on the paper, which was very similar to the handwriting engraved on the saber, and it must have been written by the same person.

The contents of the paper are as follows:
【Brother Yang, it’s me.Because of my father’s obstruction, I haven’t seen you for many days, I miss you, miss you every day, and can’t sleep at night]

【Not long after I heard, you will be called up to join the army in place of your father. Let’s go and say goodbye. I don’t know when we will see you again】

[Tonight, when the willows are on the moon, I will wait for you in the Qingyue Courtyard to the south of the town. This is the place where you and I met for the first time, I hope that here I can relieve the pain of lovesickness and spend a good time with you]

Signature: [Zhang’s daughter]

There is not much content on paper, but in summary, it is actually a small and ordinary love story.

The general meaning is that this man surnamed Yang, that is, the undead with the saber, had a romantic relationship with a woman surnamed Zhang, but because of obstruction from his family, he beat the mandarin ducks with a club and broke them up.

Later, this man was going to join the army for his father. After this time, let alone when he would see him again, whether he will live or die is already unknown.

After the woman learned about it, she asked him to meet him before he joined the army, but because the woman’s father was under strict supervision, the letter could not be sent out, so she had to seal the letter in the saber, conceal it from her father, and then gave the saber to him .

She asked him to meet, which was also a farewell.

The story is very plain, nothing worth delving into, but since this is a game world, Lin Xuan believes that there should be a mystery behind the story hidden in the saber.

Go to the Qingyue courtyard in the south of the town to have a look.

Although this town has been abandoned for a long time, there are still some old buildings. Lin Xuan easily found this small courtyard named ”Qingyue” in the south of the town.

It can be seen that Qingyue Xiaoyuan was supposed to be an elegant courtyard, but as time has passed, it has become abandoned.

The yard was overgrown with weeds and the south wall had collapsed in half.

The house is broken, only broken bricks and tiles remain.

The beams are crooked, moss is everywhere, the plaque is broken, and it is covered with cobwebs.

In this dilapidated small yard, Lin Xuan searched for a while, and found a line of writing carved on a piece of ground blocked by weeds.

[Zhang’s little daughter disappeared mysteriously for a month, and Zhang’s father searched hard for a month without success. One month later, Zhang’s daughter returned alone and was pregnant]

”Missing for a month?” Lin Xuan was a little confused when he saw this line of words.

Judging from the content on the letter paper, this young daughter of the Zhang family has an appointment with her lover here. This is a small courtyard. Even if she secretly meets with her lover here, it cannot be described as missing. ?

And it’s still a month?
This town is so big, is it not easy to find someone? If you really want to search, where can you hide in this small courtyard?Still hiding for a month?

There may be hidden spaces here.

No, it’s not possible, it must be, otherwise the story wouldn’t make any sense.

Lin Xuan started looking.

In this small yard, search inch by inch.

An hour later, I found it.

There are organs under the collapsed south wall in the courtyard. At first, Lin Xuan didn’t notice that it was an institution, but after searching again, he found out.

This mechanism is a gap dug in the ground.

This gap can just be inserted with this saber, and after it is inserted, a hole is exposed on the floor in the center of the yard.

The hole is not big, about two meters wide, and can accommodate three or four people to pass through.

Below the entrance of the cave, there is a stone staircase that extends down. Because the bottom is pitch black, it is impossible to see how long the staircase is.

Sure enough, there is room to hide.
