Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

”This is all thanks to your software, Xiao He!”

He Jinnian could not hide his excitement when he said this.

”Your upgraded software system has become more intelligent, and many processes have become easier, so our speed has naturally become faster! I didn’t expect that AI is becoming more and more powerful.”

Sometimes it feels like AI development is just beginning, but in the blink of an eye, we find that AI has become increasingly versatile.

The upgraded version of the software is particularly efficient.

Since it’s a formal film release, directly using AI might be controversial, so they definitely need to avoid copyright risks in advance, which makes the preliminary preparations quite slow.

For example, original concept drafts, authorized open-source materials, pre-designed models, motion capture character behavior references, etc. After collecting these basic materials, in-depth training is then conducted on the AI software such as CG modeling and rendering that they use.

The downside is that they will have a lot of work to do in the early stages. A large amount of the original materials need to be transferred and used for training, and a lot of manual work is still needed for original design to ensure that the weights of the large model are fixed and that it does not collapse later.

The advantages are obvious. This model is trained independently from scratch and is a customized model specifically for the film ”Time and Space Standoff”. It completely avoids the original sin of general large model data. After they have trained an independent model, they can directly solve the most common problems in current AI such as plagiarism, image blending and infringement from the root.

Once the later stages of production are on track, it will become the most efficient auxiliary production tool.

Xiao He had personally tested this software once before, when creating the AI animated short film ”Following the Crowd,” to mock the Yun family, and had also upgraded the related technology. Later, after they successfully upgraded the main AI, Xiao Hei, to version 2.0, they naturally updated other sub-modules that used Xiao Hei AI, allowing the software here to iterate as well.

It can be said that his AI software is more of an auxiliary form of AI itself. Once the software is completed and publicly released, it will definitely be a revolutionary work that will shake up the industry.

When Sha Ye and his team first discovered this feature, they were quite resistant to it, but after experiencing it firsthand, they could only describe it as ”amazing”.

Works that would normally require a long time to render and polish can be completed quickly in just a few months. To be honest, even though Sha Ye is quite supportive of the current progress of the industry, he can’t help but feel a sense of sadness that they are about to be eliminated.

Although they still need to do work in many areas—especially the original parts—the workload has been greatly reduced. With AI assistance, it’s like the work of ten people has been cut by more than half. Industries that are already suffering from the impact of new technologies may lose even more peers.

Undeniably, this development is highly beneficial for capital. In particular, projects that originally required two to three years to produce can now be compressed into just a few months, allowing products to be launched and monetized more quickly. This enables the company to raise funds again, reinvest in production, and re-enter the market to earn even more money... It’s practically a perfect cycle.

Otherwise, the longer things are delayed, the higher the time and manpower costs will be.

Therefore, the development of this type of software is destined to be fraught with bloodshed and countless controversies.

”Teacher Sha recently said she wanted to meet you.”

He Jinnian continued, ”He said that they discovered some problems during the creative process and had some other new ideas, so they wanted to meet you in person and talk to you about it.”

To put it bluntly, they wanted to keep urging Xiao He to update the software and provide them with better creative conditions after the upgrade.

—Ah, as for what you asked your peers to do?

What do we do? Anyway, their entire team has already been signed under Linghui Entertainment. Whether they live or die, they are Linghui’s people. As for what happens to their competitors, what does that have to do with them?

Sorry, they ran away with the buckets first.

As the saying goes, if {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} you can’t beat someone, join them.

Sha Ye only slumped for a short while before accepting the current harsh employment environment and decisively clung to Xiao He’s coattails.

The saying ”Better to die for your fellow Daoist than for your own” comes from this.

”Forehead--”

Xiao He naturally knew what Teacher Sha Ye’s intentions were in meeting him.

Just thinking about the contract he signed in Hong Kong, the Little Black 2.0 system he had already handed over, and his old classmate Dai Bai made him feel guilty.

Ahem, how should I tell Teacher Sha that my main system has been incorporated into the system, and the series of intelligent auxiliary software built around Xiaohei AI will probably remain at version 2.0, without any further major version updates?

Therefore, this basically means that their software can only be used up to this point.

Of course, there will still be some bugs and updates, including some basic built-in stores and related licensed extensions, but there will be no more major version updates for AI.

However, judging from its current situation, it is probably not a problem to be one or two years ahead of other software?

What a pity! I was planning to work on this properly when I had more time, and then officially launch it to seize a share of the future AI market...

Xiao He naturally dared not tell Teacher Sha Ye such a sad thing, and was also glad that the software had not been officially released yet. The only users of it were ”Following the Crowd” and ”Time-Space Confrontation” - oh right, and the xiaohei account had shown a prototype when it was self-certified on the external network before.

Therefore, many people are unaware of its existence, and naturally, they are not as eager as Shaye to wait for its future development and try to gain an advantage in advance to secure their own livelihoods.

This also relieved Xiao He greatly.

Fortunately, all I had to do was fool—oops, I had to appease Teacher Shaye.

As for whether it will be officially released in the future, we’ll probably have to wait until the official team develops an updated version of the Xiaohei system.

So Xiao He decisively declined: ”I’m sorry, Director He, as you know, I had some things happen recently and I’ll be quite busy. Hong Kong is waiting for me to finish filming, so I probably won’t have time to come over.”

”Oh, it’s okay.”

He Jinnian smiled and said, ”We are preparing to submit the materials and application for review in the next few days. Judging from the current situation of most science fiction films, there may be some cuts and adjustments. So you can watch it after you finish your work.”

In the past, Xiao He had no interest in watching many of his works even if he had invested in them, but this time, ”Time Confrontation” was different. Not only the production team and Xiao He, but also many high-level executives of Linghui Entertainment were full of expectations and had staked their fortunes on it.

Now, ”Time and Space Standoff” has successfully completed its mission ahead of schedule. With a two-month review buffer period and subsequent promotion period, they are just able to be released during the most popular Spring Festival period.

To say that they weren’t aiming for box office success would be too hypocritical.

With Ling Hui’s largest investment to date, skepticism from other industry peers, a ”pure newcomer” director He who transitioned from actor to director, and a sci-fi film that has always been viewed negatively by the industry, what kind of box office sparks will this combination create?

They were very much looking forward to it.
