Becoming Their Guiding Spirit

# Chapter 158: You’re just a diva, huh & The Fall of Wolf Fang Upon reaching this mountain peak, Lucas Reeve had already quietly summoned his small, unmanned transport drone.

He had spent a considerable amount of time modifying this aircraft, significantly increasing its endurance and full-power flight speed. Furthermore, he had recently gone to Raythean Industries to specifically learn about artificial intelligence.

With his extremely high spiritual strength, Lucas Reeve’s learning speed was very fast.

Moreover.

He had installed a simple artificial intelligence he created on the aircraft. Although it wasn’t as agile as the medical cart and couldn’t even understand human speech, the AI on the aircraft could still follow Lucas Reeve’s commands to provide related air support.

The number of Mafia members coming down from the mountain grew, and at the very front, there were at least a hundred members of the ’Wolf Pack’. These reckless killers were a nightmare for many elite operators; they knew no pain, no death, only the orders they were given and the targets they were meant to kill.

The chances of Lucas Reeve’s group escaping were slim.

Although the landship could move, its engine had nearly been wrecked after a wave of the Originium Storm. It could only barely drive now and would be overtaken. But Lucas Reeve had no intention of leaving. This Mafia disgusted him. Since they were so stubborn, Lucas Reeve didn’t mind destroying this place.

He snapped his fingers.

The control console inside the unmanned transport, which had already landed on the mountaintop, automatically lit up. The engines whirred to life, roaring like a hurricane. Then, the light strips on the aircraft illuminated as it took off from the peak, positioning itself directly above Lucas Reeve’s head.

With Lucas Reeve around.

Franka was exceptionally relaxed. She already had 100% faith in Lucas Reeve’s power. He had even escaped the legendary 1000% mortality rate Originium Storm, let alone this small-time Mafia.

”I’m not bragging, but these young-looking killers are ferocious as hell, tsk tsk...”

Franka casually remarked to Magallan, who was in a state of social death, and Jessica, who was feeling shy.

”I nearly died at the hands of this bunch of monsters back then.”

Magallan lifted her head upon hearing this.

”You’re too weak, Franka.”

”Actually, these killers are younger than you think. I’ve seen the relevant data.”

Lucas Reeve said slowly.

”Even younger? How old?”

”In reality, they’re only five or six years old.”

”???”

After hearing Lucas Reeve’s words, countless question marks appeared above everyone’s heads.

”Five or six? Are you sure, Mr. Reeve?”

Even Jessica was shocked at this point. The group completely lacked the sense of crisis and urgency of an impending battle.

”This Mafia uses special hormones and drugs to rapidly age children, and their lifespan is reduced to only three years...”

”That’s too cruel!!”

A chill ran down Franka’s spine as she looked at the hundred-plus ’Wolf Pack’ members before them.

How many children must have been captured? And over so many years, they must have taken at least several thousand.

Several thousand!!

Such numbers were simply an outrage against heaven and reason!!

”Can these children still be saved?”

Lucas Reeve shook his head. ”No. I’ve read the documents inside the base. There’s no possibility of reversal. Furthermore, due to long-term brainwashing, they know nothing but how to kill.... And to maintain their basic wolf-like ferocity, they are fed human flesh every three days.”

Jessica covered her mouth in disbelief. Living in a beautiful world, she could never have imagined that such a dark place existed.

So...

I’m sorry....

Watching the enemies charge forward in unison, Lucas Reeve snapped his fingers and issued a command.

”Fire!!”

Upon receiving the order.

The side armor of the drone hovering high in the sky suddenly opened, and a custom-made rotary cannon extended from within.

After aiming.

The rotary cannon spun at high speed, spewing crimson tongues of fire. The blinding light of bullets indiscriminately strafed the mountainside. Amidst waves of screams, clouds of thick smoke rose from the distant slope under the high-speed barrage.

Bullet casings rained down from the rotary gun’s magazine, clattering on the ground.

This round of firing didn’t last long.

Due to limited ammunition, after a minute of strafing, the three thousand rounds in the aircraft were exhausted. The once mighty crowd had been reduced by several hundred in that barrage. Instantly, the mountain peak turned into a purgatory. Crimson blood flowed ceaselessly through the cracks in the earth. The unlucky ones didn’t even leave behind a complete corpse; their bodies exploded under the impact of multiple bullets, sending chunks of flesh flying everywhere, splattering the entire mountain.

The sudden attack stunned countless Mafia members.

One second they had the numerical advantage, and the next, under this ’heavenly punishment,’ more than half of them were dead.

Looking at the corpses littering the ground.

Many of the Mafia members had lost the will to fight. But the ’Wolf Pack’ did not fear death. They didn’t even know what death meant. Even though many of their comrades had died in the preceding sweep, the large remaining group still charged towards their target. It seemed that for them, killing the target and obeying orders were their only purposes in life.

Lucas Reeve once again took over Ceobe’s body.

It had to be said.

Besides Patriot, Ceobe’s body was the most useful. Although Zumama’s physique was also very good, her flexibility couldn’t compare to Ceobe’s. Ceobe’s body, both in its current strength and potential, was nearly perfect. The only drawback was probably that she got hungry too easily...

At the same time.

Another new piece of equipment flew down from the landship.

It was a large iron box.

However.

As it was about to reach Lucas Reeve, the large iron box suddenly unfolded on its own, revealing the combat power armor inside.

This power armor was similar to Patriot’s model.

It wasn’t purely built by Lucas Reeve but was commissioned by Jessica from Raythean Industries. After receiving the finished product, Lucas Reeve continued to optimize it. After all, he was just one person. If he had to build everything from scratch, it would be too time-consuming. So, Lucas Reeve now preferred to buy finished products and then optimize them himself, which not only saved time but also countless troubles.

Lucas Reeve inserted one hand into the power armor. Then, much like Patriot’s set, it unfolded upon fingerprint contact and fitted itself onto ’Ceobe’.

This armor was adaptive.

As long as the size difference wasn’t too great, basically anyone could wear it. This was also to facilitate Lucas Reeve’s use of different bodies for combat in the future.

After putting on the silver-white power armor.

Ceobe’s somewhat petite frame was naturally encased within it. Instantly, her entire demeanor seemed to change, from her initial ’goofiness’ to an icy coldness.

This group of surviving Mafia members had never seen such equipment before.

They were all too shocked to speak, some even wondering if it was equipment straight out of a science fiction novel. A few had already started to have second thoughts, while the ’Wolf Pack’ members charged out, their sharp blades hacking at Lucas Reeve’s power armor without a second thought.

These ’Wolf Pack’ members had the intellect of four or five-year-olds. They couldn’t even do arithmetic, let alone basic communication. Naturally, they wouldn’t know that striking this kind of metal with a blade was useless. Lucas Reeve didn’t even dodge, letting their sharp blades strike his body.

*Clang.*

The sharp blades shattered inch by inch, unable to leave even the slightest scratch on the armor’s surface.

Although this power armor was not entirely made of Nirvana Metal—after all, Lucas Reeve was only one person, and forging so much would be too time-consuming—he had incorporated Nirvana Metal into many key areas during the modification. The other parts were the factory-standard D32 Steel. Never mind the harder Nirvana Metal; even D32 Steel couldn’t be dented by these ordinary blades. After all, D32 Steel was recognized as the hardest alloy on Terra.

Patriot’s ability to withstand the firepower of an entire elite independent regiment was a testament to the hardness of D32 Steel.

The absolute defense of the power armor made Lucas Reeve invincible in this technologically backward combat environment. Then, the weapon in his hand swung relentlessly, and one after another, enemies fell under his blade.

Gradually.

Lucas Reeve seemed to fight tirelessly. The ground was already stained red with blood, and the original silver-white exterior of his power armor was now rendered a terrifying, eye-catching crimson from the blood.

A slaughter...

A one-sided slaughter.

Lucas Reeve showed no mercy to any enemy who attacked him.

In the eyes of the remaining Mafia members, Lucas Reeve was as terrifying as a demon returned from hell, tireless and incomparably cruel.

Seeing so many familiar faces die on the ground, many of the Mafia members had given up the naive idea of continuing to resist. They dropped their weapons one by one and ran for their lives. Seeing that Lucas Reeve wasn’t pursuing them, they ran with even more effort, using all their strength, cursing themselves for not having been born with two more legs.

The entire process lasted for twenty minutes.

Of the original thousand-plus Mafia members and over a hundred ’Wolf Pack’ members, the ’Wolf Pack’ was completely annihilated, and thirty percent of the Mafia members had fled under Lucas Reeve’s bloody massacre.

On the ground.

Countless bodies were piled up on the mountain.

Like a living hell.

Blood pooled together, forming rivers.

That’s about enough...

Lucas Reeve directly led the group to counter-attack the [Wolf Fang]’s experimental base. This was the first time Jessica and the others had been here, and they were somewhat shocked by the scale of the underground facility. For a ruling family in a small country to possess such an experimental base was already quite an achievement.

Even Raythean Industries didn’t have an underground base of this level.

Because...

It wasn’t necessary.

Since the elite thugs stationed in the base had been all but wiped out by Lucas Reeve’s righteous one-man-army, the journey was extremely smooth and unobstructed.

And underground...

As the current Patriarch of [Wolf Fang], he was currently furious.

As the patriarch of a ruling family, he had been humiliated by a single person!!

Anger had blinded him to his own capabilities and made him fail to consider Lucas Reeve’s strength. He had directly sent out all the elite thugs and all the ’Wolf Pack’ members stationed at the base to pursue them. The outcome was unknown.

As he waited patiently.

Suddenly.

A series of violent kicks slammed against the metal door of the main control room. On the first kick, the center of the door began to deform slightly. And with the force of the second kick, a loud *boom* was heard as the massive alloy door was kicked open.

Several figures appeared in the control room.

”So you’re the Patriarch of [Wolf Fang]?”

Lucas Reeve asked disdainfully, not waiting for an answer.

”Sorry, but you’re coming with us.”

As the Patriarch of [Wolf Fang], he had committed countless evil deeds. Who knows how many people had indirectly died because of his orders. For such a person, simply being killed would be letting him off too easily. This kind of person needed to be judged by the people he ruled....

”You!! You!!!”

The Patriarch was in disbelief. He couldn’t understand why, after he had sent out a thousand fully armed elite Mafia members, each capable of fighting two or three opponents, plus over a hundred reckless ’Wolf Pack’ members, why....

Why were these people completely unharmed!!

He pointed at Lucas Reeve, stammering ”You” for a long time without being able to say anything else.

Lucas Reeve knocked him out with a single slap.

”You? You what? You’re just a f***ing joke.”

He then released all the researchers and surviving test subjects from the underground base.

At first, these people didn’t believe it. It wasn’t until Lucas Reeve showed them the bruised and battered Patriarch that they finally believed Lucas Reeve was there to save them. They rushed out frantically to breathe the air of freedom.

+150,000

Damn!

Just how many researchers and test subjects were imprisoned in this entire base..

Looking at the 150,000 Prayer Power he had gained, Lucas Reeve wasn’t particularly surprised. He had essentially saved their lives, so theoretically, their gratitude was to be expected.

This was a good deal.

When Jessica and the others’ souls were suddenly taken by Little Moti, an enraged Lucas Reeve had directly poured 50,000 Prayer Power into his own soul. He didn’t expect to gain another 150,000, making a net profit of 100,000.

Now, Lucas Reeve’s total Prayer Power had reached 940,000.

He was getting closer and closer to the 1.8 million needed for a cure for Oripathy. The progress bar was already halfway full. At this rate, it wouldn’t even take a year, maybe just a few months, for Lucas Reeve to save up 1.8 million Prayer Power. Then, he could directly cure Alina and the others, allowing them to live like normal people. In that case... the Reunion Movement, which strived for the sake of the Infected, might no longer have much reason to exist...

Jessica had already called for a Raythean Industries aircraft. Now that the Patriarch of [Wolf Fang] was in Lucas Reeve’s hands, it was as good as saying this family would soon be permanently erased from all of Siracusa.

After all, not only was the Patriarch captured in this move, but a large number of the family’s elites were all dead on that mountain, and the family’s foundational base had been mostly destroyed by Lucas Reeve.

Moreover, this trip was fruitful not just in terms of Prayer Power, but also because of a huge chunk of Active Originium buried on the eighteenth floor underground...

If Lucas Reeve wasn’t mistaken, this Originium should have been from beneath the villa where the little girl once lived. This massive piece of Active Originium was a huge score!!

It could be used to power a lot of equipment.

The vast experimental base had now become Lucas Reeve’s treasure chest.

Next was to deal with the unconscious Parvis, the unconscious [Wolf Fang Patriarch], and the extremely nervous doll, Little Moti.

Being forcibly dragged into an incident like this, forcing him to wipe out a major Mafia family... that had to be worth some kind of reward. A simple ’thank you’ wouldn’t cut it.
