Spiritual Energy Revival: Transform Into a Divine Phoenix, Automatically Upgrade

123: Chapter 123 Changes in the Upper Class of the Great Xia Kingdom! The Horrifying FutureJust as many high-ranking officials of the Great Xia Kingdom were feeling excited in the conference hall, the Minister of Scientific Research threw a bucket of cold water on their enthusiasm.

The Minister of Scientific Research adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and continued reporting the data in his hands.

”I understand everyone’s excitement, but I must remind you of one thing...”

”Compared to us humans, those beasts living in the wild... who were already blessed by spiritual energy, have now become even more powerful!”

”Tsk, aren’t they just a bunch of oversized animals?” a general in military uniform said with a look of disdain. ”Millions of years ago, our human ancestors conquered massive beasts. Now that we have countless high-tech civilizations, why should we fear these wild animals? Are you joking?”

The Minister of Scientific Research glanced at him, then turned to a middle-aged general beside him whose face held a hint of horror and whose clenched fists were trembling slightly as if in fear, and asked:

”General Zhao, what do you think of those beasts of nature?”

All eyes in the conference room turned to him, as they knew this general had fought against a powerful Ancient Creature.

General Zhao took a few deep breaths and stood up. His tiger-like eyes regained their former imposing aura as he ignored the gazes of the crowd.

He spoke.

”I know some of you think it was because of my carelessness that the Ancient Creature in Jianghai City is still roaming free, but let me tell you!”

”That Ancient Creature is far more powerful than you can imagine!”

”Imagine this: what kind of creature can speak human language and possess the power of lightning?!”

Then, General Zhao looked at the Minister of Scientific Research. ”But that’s not the point right now. Minister, what exactly do you mean?”

The Minister of Scientific Research nodded. ”Yes, General Zhao, you are right.”

”The information I want to convey is... in the future... no! Soon, many creatures as powerful as the Ancient Creature on the outskirts of Jianghai City will appear!”

”The appearance of the Red Moon has caused the concentration of spiritual energy in the air to skyrocket. In just half a month, the current concentration is more than four times what it used to be!”

”The concentration of spiritual energy in the wild is already much higher than in the cities, and beasts generally absorb it much faster than we humans do...”

The Minister of Scientific Research sat back down after speaking, but the discussions in the conference room ceased.

Regardless of the reason, even General Zhao’s political enemies could not deny that the power of the Ancient Creature on the outskirts of Jianghai City was something they had all witnessed!

Afterward, the scientific research department analyzed the combat video from the outskirts of Jianghai City. The power displayed by that Golden Figure was practically a humanoid missile!

And a medium-sized missile at that!

Fortunately, for some reason, that Ancient Creature hadn’t left its territory, perhaps due to a strong sense of territoriality. Otherwise, if such a terrifying creature were to enter the city, it would be a large-scale disaster!

”The situation is grave, as I believe you all understand. Minister of Scientific Research, is there anything else you’d like to add?”

The Leader of Great Xia, sitting at the head of the table, shook his head with a pensive gaze and asked the Minister of Scientific Research.

The Minister of Scientific Research pursed his lips and stood up once more.

”I’ll mention one last conjecture...”

”Currently, due to the appearance of spiritual energy and the Red Moon, the situation on Blue Star is worsening... Global population has even decreased by four billion!”

”But have you noticed? The effect of spiritual energy and the Red Moon is to stimulate the evolution of organisms. In this regard, we humans have no advantage...”

”If we humans continue to pride ourselves on technological civilization, we are likely to end up on the path to extinction. After all, the mysterious and unknown spiritual energy and Red Moon are clearly not something our current human means can prevent...”

A general frowned and asked directly, ”Minister of Scientific Research, what exactly are you trying to say?! If you’re just trying to spread alarmist talk, I don’t have this much time to waste here!”

The Minister of Scientific Research ignored him and continued, ”What I want to say is... since we cannot curb the influence of spiritual energy and the Red Moon, why not take the initiative to embrace it?”

”In the past, human bodies couldn’t be affected by the evolutionary impact of spiritual energy, but things are different now... We humans can fully rely on spiritual energy to evolve just like the beasts of nature!”

”Don’t forget, we humans are also a part of nature.”

These words brightened the expressions of many high-ranking officials of Great Xia, but someone asked:

”Minister, didn’t you just say that beasts in nature absorb spiritual energy much faster than humans? If so, how can we possibly evolve by absorbing it? By then, we’ll probably just become even tastier food in the eyes of the beasts...”

The Minister of Scientific Research smiled. ”What I said wasn’t absolute. According to experiments by our research department, some people who exercise frequently or have extraordinary states of mind absorb spiritual energy much faster than average. If we develop a specific method for absorbing spiritual energy or create some auxiliary equipment, it will definitely be helpful!”

”To put it in a somewhat ’chuunibyou’ way, if we humans evolve through spiritual energy, we might eventually achieve the feats of flying and tunneling through the earth from myths and legends... and even have lifespans far exceeding our current ones!”

The Minister of Scientific Research’s eyes were bright! It was as if a burning fire was surging within his gaze!

”Huh... that actually sounds quite good!”

”But can this idea really be realized?”

”Right... the situation is so dangerous now. If we implement such a bold idea, will it cause even greater turmoil?”

Most of those speaking were personnel from government departments; only the generals from the military remained silent, looking deep in thought instead.

Because they knew that it wasn’t just the ordinary citizens of Great Xia Kingdom who were dying suddenly; even the military was being affected.

Maintaining stability in the current situation was already very difficult...

Furthermore, as soldiers, they knew that modern weapon civilization had reached a bottleneck, and breaking through was too difficult.

Besides, even if they built weapons ten million times more destructive than atomic bombs, what use would it be?

The primary enemies humans faced now were the effects brought by the unknown spiritual energy and the Red Moon...

To improve the overall combat effectiveness of the military, physical fitness was the key. Now that spiritual energy could act on the human body, the Minister’s words gave them hope.

The generals’ gazes all turned toward the Minister of the Military.

Sensing their gazes, the Minister of the Military came to a decision after some thought.

He nodded in agreement to the Minister of Scientific Research, then stood up and spoke respectfully to the Leader of Great Xia Kingdom at the head of the table.

”Leader, I agree with the Minister of Scientific Research’s idea... we can give this idea a try...”

The discussion in the conference hall stopped, and everyone looked at the Leader of Great Xia. His decision would likely guide the fate of the Great Xia Kingdom...
