Shocking! The Fake Young Master Has Been Won Over by the Real Young Master!

142: Release from prison”Tell me, what’s going on?” Yan Qinghe wiped the corner of his mouth where some soup had accidentally splashed, then picked up his own portion and began to eat.

Yan Zhuohua’s chewing slowed down; he didn’t know how to bring this up for a moment.

”Why did you stop?” Yan Qinghe was quite curious.

”You, last night...” Yan Zhuohua stammered for a long while before taking a roundabout approach. ”Didn’t you look at your phone when you got up today?”

As soon as he woke up this morning, he had been busy calling his cousin for a recipe, then rushed out to buy ingredients to stew soup, so he really hadn’t had time to check any other messages. Moreover, Yan Qinghe had always projected a cold and aloof image to the outside world, so who would dare tease him? They were all busy watching Yan Zhuohua’s spectacle. Thus, as the other protagonist of last night, Yan Qinghe actually had no idea what had happened until now.

He shook his head blankly under Yan Zhuohua’s complicated gaze, then patted his pockets only to realize he seemed to have left his phone in the kitchen.

”Where’s your phone? Let me see.”

”...Use your own.” I’ve already uninstalled wechat, do you want me to reinstall it?

Hmm? It seems this is no small matter; his wife is even throwing a little tantrum. Yan Qinghe’s thoughts stirred, and he stood up to grab Yan Zhuohua’s phone, which had been tossed carelessly onto the bedside table.

”What are you doing?” Yan Zhuohua muttered, but he didn’t stop him. ”Looking at my phone is useless.”

Yan Qinghe had already unlocked it and entered the home screen, noticing at a glance an empty space among the neatly arranged apps.

”What on earth happened? You were so angry you deleted wechat?” The two often used each other’s phones, so Yan Qinghe naturally knew the missing one was wechat. He sat back down beside Yan Zhuohua and, right in front of him, went to the app store to download wechat again, skillfully entering Yan Zhuohua’s account and password to log in.

Seeing this, Yan Zhuohua only hummed twice and lowered his head to continue eating his noodles.

The reinstalled app was clean, with no records at all. However, this phone had been modified by Yan Zhuoyan, so in no time at all, Yan Qinghe restored wechat to its state before the uninstallation.

The scene was even livelier than in the morning. As more and more people who slept in on the weekend got up, Yan Zhuohua’s ”grand feat” from last night was now practically common knowledge.

Following those words, Yan Qinghe easily found Sheng Xufeng’s post on moments. He had already guessed what it was, so he opened the video with great interest.

Beside him, Yan Zhuohua ate his noodles resentfully, trying hard not to pay attention to Yan Qinghe. But after a few minutes, he still slammed the empty bowl onto the table and looked expressionlessly at the beaming Yan Qinghe.

Sensing the atmosphere wasn’t quite right, the hair on Yan Qinghe’s body suddenly stood on end. He slowly looked up from the video he had played for who-knows-how-many times, meeting Yan Zhuohua’s emotionless eyes.

”I’m not watching anymore, I’m not watching!” Yan Qinghe rubbed his nose sheepishly. ”This video is really mediocre, the lighting isn’t good either...”

His voice gradually faded under Yan Zhuohua’s steady gaze, but his eyes still darted to the screen from time to time to look at Yan Zhuohua acting spoiled toward him; clearly, he was quite enamored.

”...Get lost with your video.” Yan Qinghe’s state of being hopelessly obsessed with the video made Yan Zhuohua realize it was impossible for him to take revenge on his behalf. So, he decisively kicked him out of the bedroom, even stuffing his own phone into Yan Qinghe’s arms, not wanting it anymore.

The room suddenly became quiet. Having eaten and drunk his fill, Yan Zhuohua returned to the window to wallow in his ”emo” mood. Then, he was ”frozen” back into his blankets by a gust of cold wind.

What a bad year!

Upstairs, Yan Zhuohua was muttering in his blankets, while downstairs, the ”househusband” was busy washing dishes, cleaning, and preparing ingredients for lunch.

Yan Qinghe busied himself in the kitchen in a cheerful mood. The phone he had brought downstairs continued to loop that video. He would look up from time to time, unconsciously revealing a sweet smile, before lowering his head to work again.

This very distracted state continued until the video suddenly paused and a call came in. Yan Qinghe pulled a tissue to wipe his hands and picked up the phone.

There was no contact name, just an unknown number. A sudden sense of tension rose in Yan Qinghe’s heart.

An unknown call—could Zhuohua have some secret plan? Should I investigate?

After a moment of hesitation, Yan Qinghe answered the call directly.

”Hello, is this Mr. Yan Zhuohua?” a somewhat serious male voice asked.

”...Speaking.”

”Good.” The voice on the other end seemed to relax slightly. ”I am a staff member at the A City South District Prison. We have an inmate named Ning Wei whose sentence is complete. He will be released in three days, so we are making a routine notification to the family member listed in the records.”

So that’s what it was. Yan Qinghe breathed a sigh of relief; at least it wasn’t some audacious plan of Zhuohua’s.

”I see. Is there anything I need to do?” Yan Qinghe held the phone in one hand while continuing to wipe the stove with a rag in the other.

The staff member on the other side seemed to be momentarily choked by his nonchalant tone, but being well-experienced, he didn’t care about the attitude of these inmates’ families and continued to responsibly convey the required information.

”Three days from now at 2:00 PM, you can wait for him at the prison gate.”

”Mm.” Yan Qinghe gave a couple more perfunctory responses before hanging up.

Wiping the stove clean, Yan Qinghe casually tossed the rag into the sink and leaned against the counter behind him, lost in thought.

Back then, Ning Wei’s matter was basically handled by Yan Zhuohua alone. Aside from asking for his opinion at the very end, Yan Qinghe hadn’t paid much attention to the specifics. He had only glanced at the documents to know what the charges were. He had even found out that Ning Wei was sentenced to over five years by chance from his eldest brother.

Yan Qinghe’s fingers tapped lightly on the marble countertop. To be honest, his only feeling toward Ning Wei was hatred, so he really didn’t want to know whether this person was being released or what he would do in the future. But based on his years of experience, once Ning Wei was out, it was impossible for him not to harass him and Zhuohua; he wouldn’t give up on trying to get some benefits from the Yan Family.

Five or six years ago, he hadn’t resented Yan Zhuohua for the suffering he’d endured for over a decade. Now that the two were an ”old married couple, deeply in love,” he was even less willing to let that dark past and those base people disturb their lives. It wasn’t out of low self-esteem or an unwillingness to mention it; it was just purely annoying.

Occasionally playing the victim to get some benefits from his wife was called flirting, but actually letting those things appear before Yan Zhuohua and annoy him was something he absolutely could not accept.

Yan Qinghe opened his phone again and neatly deleted the call record from just now.

Years ago, it was Yan Zhuohua who handled Ning Wei; now, it was time for him to arrange the aftermath.
