Shocking! The Fake Young Master Has Been Won Over by the Real Young Master!

121: trainingYan Zhuoyi had just closed the ward door when he turned around and saw Yan Zhuoyang walking over with large strides.

”Why did you come so late? Is the interrogation of those people finished?”

”They won’t confess for now, and I didn’t feel like wasting any more time.” Seeing Yan Zhuoyi’s relatively good complexion, Yan Zhuoyang knew his brother was fine and immediately breathed a sigh of relief. ”Is Zhuohua alright?”

”Yeah, he’s doing okay.”

Yan Zhuoyi briefly explained the situation to Yan Zhuoyang.

”Then I won’t disturb his sleep for now. Let Yan Qinghe watch over him.”

”Are you planning to just let this matter slide?” Yan Zhuoyi suddenly asked. ”It shouldn’t be hard for you to see that Zhuohua let himself get kidnapped on purpose.”

Yan Zhuoyang got angry as soon as this was mentioned.

”No rush. We’ll talk about it after he’s discharged.”

”Not going to give face to Yan Qinghe this time?” Seeing him looking like he was about to lose his mind from anger, Yan Zhuoyi couldn’t help but joke.

”I’m afraid if I keep letting it slide, that little lunatic will be going abroad to kill people in a few days.” Yan Zhuoyang’s voice was filled with anger. ”Forget it. Since he’s fine, I’ll come back tomorrow. You should get some rest too, Cousin.”

”Alright.”

This night was destined to be a sleepless one for many. But no matter how long the darkness lasted, it would eventually end the moment dawn arrived.

At 7:30 AM, the door to Yan Zhuohua’s ward was quietly opened. It was Jiang Fuyue, who had woken up early to brew some soup.

”Mom?” Hearing the noise, Yan Qinghe lifted his head from the bed, eyes bleary with sleep.

”Shh—” Jiang Fuyue motioned for him to be quiet and pointed at the lunch box in her hand.

Yan Qinghe nodded understandingly, got out of bed quietly, and followed his mother to the outer living area.

”Mom, why are you here so early?”

”To bring you breakfast! Although we can cook in our own ward, it’s not as convenient as home.” Jiang Fuyue brought out the breakfast items one by one and set them on the coffee table. ”Call Zhuoyi over in a bit. He was on the night shift yesterday, so he must be exhausted.”

”How was Zhuohua last night? Your eyes are bloodshot. Did something happen again that kept you from sleeping well?”

”It’s nothing...”

”Don’t lie to Mom, or I’ll be angry.”

Yan Qinghe explained with a smile, ”It’s really nothing serious. It’s just that the chemicals in Zhuohua’s body haven’t been metabolized yet, so he felt pain even while asleep. I spent half the night comforting him until he fell back into a deep sleep.”

”That’s good, let him sleep a bit longer.” Jiang Fuyue was relieved, but then immediately worried about something else. ”But what about you? You can’t be losing sleep at night and then working all day. Your body won’t be able to take it! How about this: you go back and rest tonight, and I’ll stay with Zhuohua.”

It was just comforting a child! Didn’t she raise all three of those brothers? She was an expert at this!

”No need!” Yan Qinghe took a sip of porridge. ”Didn’t I often stay up late during training in the Military Camp? It’s no big deal. He’ll be discharged in four or five days at most. I’ll just get some good rest over the weekend.”

”How is that the same? You had no choice during training, but now we clearly have a better way. Why mistreat yourself?” Jiang Fuyue still disagreed.

”But,” Yan Qinghe looked quite innocent, ”Zhuohua calls my name when he’s in pain!”

“...”

I see, it has to be you comforting him, right?

Jiang Fuyue was speechless for a while. ”Then it seems you’re the only one who can pull this all-nighter!”

Yan Qinghe lowered his head and drank his porridge.

When 8:00 AM arrived and Yan Qinghe had to leave for work, he finally went in to wake Yan Zhuohua up.

”Still feeling unwell?” Yan Qinghe brushed aside the stray hairs on Yan Zhuohua’s forehead.

”It hurts a little.” Yan Zhuohua squinted at Yan Qinghe.

”Hang in there for two more days, and the pain will gradually fade.”

”Mhm.”

”Mom brought breakfast. Get up and eat something, or your body won’t be able to hold up.”

”What about you?” Yan Zhuohua’s gaze remained fixed on Yan Qinghe.

”I’ve already eaten. I woke you up because I have to go to work now.” Yan Qinghe couldn’t help but kiss his forehead. ”Rest well in the hospital during the day and eat lunch on time. I’ll come back to stay with you after work.”

”Then I’ll wait for you to have dinner together.”

Yan Qinghe nodded with a slight smile.

After getting him out of bed, Yan Qinghe left for work, looking back every few steps.

”Stop looking. His car is pulling out of the parking lot; you can’t see it.”

”Did you come here first thing in the morning just to annoy me?” Yan Zhuohua turned back with a cold sneer.

”Of course not. I was called by Auntie to eat breakfast.” Yan Zhuoyi picked up another bun. ”Annoying you is just a bonus.”

”Alright, you kids, bickering first thing in the morning. Zhuohua! Come and eat.”

Jiang Fuyue had just gone to wash her hands and came back to hear the two brothers fussing again.

Responding to the summons, Yan Zhuohua hurried to the coffee table. ”Mom, aren’t you working today?”

”No. I took a day off to look after you today.”

”It’s not that serious. Why does Mom need to come specifically to take care of me?”

”Not serious?” Yan Zhuoyi looked at Yan Zhuohua with a half-smile. ”You probably don’t know how much medication I gave you to get you up and moving like this. Once the effects wear off, we’ll see if you still have the energy to keep messing around.”

”Can’t he keep taking the medication? Why would the effects wear off?” Before Yan Zhuohua could retort, Jiang Fuyue asked in confusion.

”No, Auntie. The analgesic I prepared for him can’t be used in high doses for a long time. So I could only use more initially to help him get through the worst day. Later, as the chemicals in his body metabolize, the dosage will be reduced to avoid harming his health.”

”Sigh, alright then.” Jiang Fuyue nodded worriedly.

”But Mom doesn’t need to stay with me all the time, right?” Yan Zhuohua went back to the previous topic. ”The pain will gradually fade. Isn’t Cousin here?”

”I’m here, but not all the time. I have surgeries to attend to; I can’t keep watch over you constantly.”

”Don’t worry, I’m only staying with you for today. Once Zhuoyue rushes back tonight, she’ll stay with you tomorrow. It’ll probably be your uncle the day after, but that hasn’t been settled yet.” Jiang Fuyue served a bowl of porridge to Yan Zhuohua. ”Anyway, just rest well and don’t worry about these things.”

”Oh, okay then.” Yan Zhuohua lowered his head and drank the porridge.

”I’m finished, Auntie. I’m heading to work now; ward rounds are about to start.” Yan Zhuoyi finished his last bit of porridge.

”Alright, go ahead. Don’t be late.”

Yan Zhuoyi reached the door and suddenly remembered something. ”By the way, Yan Zhuoyang said he’s coming to see you today. Judging by his expression, he doesn’t plan on letting this matter slide easily. Don’t say I didn’t warn you when the time comes!”

“...”

Big Brother—the biggest stumbling block to Yan Zhuohua’s reckless, world-defying antics.

Throughout the morning, Yan Zhuohua was left unsettled by his cousin’s final words.

”Enough. I just asked your big brother; he’s very busy today too and probably won’t come to see you until tonight.” Jiang Fuyue, who was processing data on her laptop, was annoyed by Yan Zhuohua tossing and turning on the bed. ”Won’t Yan Qinghe be back by then? He’ll definitely be willing to protect you.”

Yan Zhuohua climbed out of bed and squatted beside Jiang Fuyue. ”It’s really not certain this time. Yan Qinghe was angry with me last night too. I tried to please him for a long time, but he just said he’d settle the score later. Besides, he already saved me once last time; it’s hard to say if he can save me again this time!”

Jiang Fuyue glanced flatly at her son, who was acting pitiful, and said nothing.

”Mom, do you really have the heart to watch your favorite child get beaten after suffering so much?”

”I indeed don’t have the heart,” Jiang Fuyue remained unmoved, ”but I can temporarily stop making you my favorite.”
