Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2194: Chapter 2188: Good Idea

Everyone was quite satisfied with today, and the happiest of all was the cafeteria chef. Today he learned a new dish, and even just looking at it seemed delicious, not to mention how it tasted. He was tempted to sit down and eat a meal.

But he hadn’t lost his mind; after all, they were all leaders, not people he could disturb. Now he had learned the dish, so he could cook it at home whenever he wanted to eat it. Otherwise, he could prepare it tomorrow and still have a chance to taste it.

”Phew, I’m so full. It feels like I haven’t eaten this full in ages.” Ouyang Ziyu put down her bowl after drinking a bowl of fish soup. It was sour and spicy, very appetizing. It was a shame she was already full; otherwise, she would have enjoyed another bowl.

”It was indeed tasty. I haven’t had such delicious food in a long time,” Ye Xiao nodded.

”Mr. Ye, have you ever tasted anything comparable to this?” Ouyang Ziyu asked. But was that really possible? She had tried many places, but none matched this flavor. Yet, Ye Xiao seemed to suggest he had tasted it before.

”Yes, I’ve tasted it decades ago, back when we were at war and visited Sichuan Province. This dish was available there, and it was especially delicious. But at that time, resources were scarce, and the fish used in this dish was only palm-sized. That was already a blessing compared to now when we can enjoy big fish and meat,” Ye Xiao recalled that their accompanying cook was from Sichuan Province. Their base was there, so of course, the local cook prepared their meals.

But after decades, Ye Xiao didn’t expect to taste the familiar flavor again; it was truly worthwhile.

”If you like it, I can prepare it for you at home in the future. Moreover, it doesn’t matter if you come to my house or not; I just taught the chef how to make this dish, and I think it will be frequently available in the cafeteria,” Qin Xue said with a smile.

”That would be great. Your idea is truly wonderful,” Ye Xiao said happily.

”Perhaps because I know that you all enjoy eating, I taught him while making it,” Qin Xue said, collecting the dishes and utensils.

”I think it’s more because this young fellow likes it,” Ye Xiao glanced at Chu Molin. They are family, so he would know their preferences.

”That’s part of the reason,” Qin Xue did not deny it. Her intention was indeed that, so Ye Xiao wasn’t wrong. Why wouldn’t she admit it?

”I guessed as much, but now this old man has something to enjoy. Even if it’s by riding your coattails, as long as there’s good food, it’s all good,” Ye Xiao was carefree. After all, in this world, food is the most important, and everybody wishes to eat well.

Hearing this, Qin Xue just smiled. In this era of scarce resources, having food to eat is already good, not to mention an appetizing new dish. She anticipated how the dish would be as soon as it hit the table.

Qin Xue thought that if they wanted to eat, it might be difficult to queue up unless the chef reserved some for them when it was ready. Otherwise, getting to eat it would be tough.

”Xue’er, let me carry it. You should take a break,” Chu Molin took over Qin Xue’s work.

”Alright, take it easy,” Qin Xue did not argue with him and let him do it. After all, everyone present were acquaintances, so she didn’t have to worry about anything.

”Okay,” Chu Molin walked away carrying it.

”Your man is truly a good man, not at all possessing any macho attitude, which is quite rare,” Qing Zhu was genuinely satisfied with Chu Molin’s behavior. She wondered if Ye Xuan was the same.

Regarding her understanding of Ye Xuan, it was only from the few days they interacted. She wasn’t aware of other aspects, and she wasn’t sure if he had any macho tendencies, but she definitely didn’t like it. If he did, she wouldn’t even consider it.
