Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2193: Chapter 2187: Fish with Pickled Mustard Greens

”Xuexue, what dish are you going to make?” Qing Zhu looked at a few small cabbages, potatoes, string beans, and other vegetables, all vegetarian, really okay without meat?

But not having meat wasn’t a problem for Qin Xue, with eggs and fish, it was enough.

”Mr. Xie, do you have any sauerkraut here?” Qin Xue thought that in the cold winters here, everyone would pickle sauerkraut to get through the winter, and making some to eat usually was common, plus, this was a cafeteria, they needed large quantities, pickling it yourself was essential.

”Yes, it’s in that jar.” Mr. Xie pointed to a jar in the corner.

”Thank you.” Qin Xue thought that with sauerkraut, she could make Chu Molin’s favorite dish, sauerkraut fish. Regardless of whether the other dishes were enough, a big pot of sauerkraut fish would certainly suffice, but since she was using someone else’s fish, they would have one less fish, oh well, she’d let Mr. Xie watch her make it, and teach him the recipe.

Qin Xue wasn’t sure if Mr. Xie knew how to make sauerkraut fish, but her version was a little different from others; it was her secret recipe. Teaching Mr. Xie would be a form of thanks, and once he learned, Chu Molin could satisfy his cravings too.

Qin Xue thought this way because she wasn’t running a restaurant and didn’t need to keep recipes secret.

Chu Molin and Ye Xiao were chatting while Ouyang Ziyu quietly observed the scenery outside. She hadn’t expected to see so many trees here, some of which she had never seen before.

She felt like a new door had opened for her just by being here, learning so many things in such a short time.

Regarding the things here, she thought if she had the chance, she’d love to plant some in her small garden at home. However, no matter how she said it, she didn’t know how. She should ask her cousin, he should know since he also worked here. How wonderful it would be if she could find some seedlings.

Ouyang Ziyu’s thoughts were beautiful, and her requirements were not high, so she felt she could achieve this wish.

”Time to eat, what are you thinking about?” Qing Zhu asked, placing the finished dishes on the table as she saw Ouyang Ziyu in a daze, unclear what thoughts had taken her so far away.

”I wasn’t thinking about anything, you finished so quickly, it smells amazing. I haven’t eaten this dish in a long time, really missed it.” Ouyang Ziyu saw the sauerkraut fish in the middle of the table. She had eaten it in The Qins’ village, but after returning, she searched all over the Imperial Capital and couldn’t find this flavor. After trying a few places, she lost interest. Later, even when she felt like eating it, she had no motivation to go out for it.

Now she could smell that familiar aroma again, Ouyang Ziyu felt this moment was her happiest.

”Wipe your drool.” Qin Xue looked at her longing expression, really, why did everyone like this dish so much? Although it was delicious, it wasn’t to the extent of how she was behaving, right?

Qin Xue could eat it whenever she wanted, so of course, she wasn’t craving it, but Ouyang Ziyu hadn’t had it for months, how could it be the same?

As for Chu Molin, he could eat it every week when he went home. He didn’t crave it as much as Ouyang Ziyu, but it was still his favorite dish, and it’s unknown why he was so fond of this dish made by Qin Xue, never getting tired of it.

Ye Xiao also didn’t expect Qin Xue to make a dish of sauerkraut fish. Just looking at the layer of red oil on top made his appetite grow. It seemed today was truly a double blessing, not only were his legs better, but he also got to enjoy a great meal.
