Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2039: Chapter 2033: Why Can’t You Stand Up for Yourself?

”But this isn’t quite right, is it?” An Hao just felt this wasn’t respectful to the elders.

”An Hao, besides not having a son, have you done anything to let The Lis down?” Qin Xue further questioned An Hao.

”No.” How could An Hao ever do anything to let The Lis down? She hasn’t done anything excessive herself, right?

”Then that’s it, you haven’t done anything wrong, so why can’t you stand firm? Having sons or daughters is a man’s issue. After all the hardship we women endure for ten months, why should we be despised for the children we bear? Even if your mother-in-law doesn’t cherish you and your daughter, isn’t it true that Li Zhao does? As long as he’s there to protect you, that’s enough. You just need to raise your daughter with your man; what others think shouldn’t matter much to you. Worrying too much will only exhaust you, don’t you think?” Qin Xue asked An Hao.

”Qin Xue, I understand what I need to do now. Thank you.” An Hao realized she had been overthinking things.

”That’s good to hear. Discuss openly with Li Zhao, don’t let others exploit any gaps. If he didn’t love you, I wouldn’t have advised you to stay with him, but since your situation is different, I’m advising against separation.” Qin Xue patted her arm.

”Hmm, I understand.” An Hao nodded.

”Now that you know what to do, will you move back in or stay outside?” Qin Xue asked.

”Let’s stay at the store. I don’t want to face them when we go back; it’s too chaotic.” An Hao didn’t want to see Chen Lei, to avoid another argument. As Li Zhao suggested, they should calm down separately before making plans.

”That’s fine. If you need any help, just let me know. I’ll help with whatever I can.” Qin Xue, having been through more than An Hao, offered her support.

”Okay, I will.” An Hao was aware that her experience wasn’t as vast as Qin Xue’s, so she didn’t refuse Qin Xue’s good intentions.

”I’ll come to find you tomorrow. My shop’s renovation starts soon, maybe we can plan together to see how to make it better.” Qin Xue thought of her scheduled work, which would soon be underway, bringing her job back on track.

”Alright, but won’t you be too exhausted doing everything yourself?” An Hao looked at Qin Xue, who seemed to handle everything personally, fearing it might be too much for her.

”No worries. Having something to do actually makes life more fulfilling and enjoyable.” Qin Xue felt that starting a business was a great idea.

”That’s true, you should go for it. I need to take you as an example.” An Hao realized she spent too much time overthinking, which was not good for her. Following Qin Xue’s approach might be better, keeping busy to distract from unnecessary thoughts.

”An’an, let’s head back. The others need to leave too, and we can talk tomorrow.” Li Zhao came over after speaking with Chu Molin, calling for his wife as it was getting late and the child was dozing off.

”Okay, Qin Xue, see you tomorrow then.” An Hao, seeing her daughter dozing, agreed with Li Zhao.

”Alright, see you tomorrow.” Qin Xue didn’t insist on staying longer, as they had a bit of a way to go back, unlike her, who lived just a few minutes away.

”Did you settle things with An Hao?” Chu Molin, observing Qin Xue’s expression, could tell she’d managed to console An Hao, otherwise, she wouldn’t have that look on her face.

”Yes, every family has its issues. I used to think Aunt Chen was quite reasonable and generous, but I didn’t expect her to have such a strong preference for sons over daughters.” Qin Xue truly didn’t expect someone as knowledgeable as Chen Lei to have such deep-rooted beliefs in this regard.
