Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2037: Chapter 2031: Brainwashed

”Women tend to be soft-hearted, especially after having kids, and since you truly love her, she surely knows that. Don’t worry, she’ll come around.” Chu Molin and Li Zhao walked aside to talk about their matters without disturbing Qin Xue and the others.

”I don’t know why my mom suddenly changed. She used to be quite sensible and open-minded, but now it’s like she’s become a different person.” Li Zhao was also puzzled by this.

”Didn’t you mention before that a woman moved into your home? Maybe there’s some connection between the two.” Chu Molin actually wanted to say that she’d been brainwashed by someone else, but saying it like that would seem disrespectful towards elders, so he chose his words carefully.

”Do you mean those two women from the Ous?” Li Zhao had considered this possibility but thought his mother wouldn’t disrupt the family for two outsiders. But upon hearing Chu Molin’s words, Li Zhao felt that something he thought impossible might just happen in their family.

But would his mother really do this? Maybe he should take some time to go back and have a proper talk with her, urging her not to blindly trust outsiders.

”In your heart, you already know the answer, don’t you? For the sake of your wife and child, you should be more decisive.” Although Chu Molin was talking to Li Zhao, his eyes never left the children.

”I understand, brother. Thank you and your wife. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to stay by my wife and daughter’s side like I am now,” Li Zhao said.

”We didn’t do much; the key is that you figured it out yourself. Otherwise, no matter how much we say, it wouldn’t have helped. If you don’t want to act on it, then there’s no point in us talking.” Chu Molin knew that family is the most important, which is why he prioritized them.

But Li Zhao’s situation is different from his. Li Zhao’s mother passed away when he was young, so he doesn’t have that obstacle.

Thus, doing and thinking things is much easier for him compared to Li Zhao. And because he’s been away from home for many years, the people from the Chus don’t interfere in his life unless he wants them to.

Chu Molin thought that it wouldn’t be that difficult for Li Zhao to change his mother’s mentality. If his daughter were to marry and bring a husband into their home, then would there still be no Li family members? Would his mother still think Li family lacks a son to carry the lineage?

Ultimately, it’s the traditional mindset causing all this. Aren’t sons and daughters both one’s flesh and blood, sharing the same blood? Why is it that sons are considered the ones to continue the family line, but daughters aren’t?

Just like his wife said, in the future, daughters will be even more valuable than sons. With sons, you need to buy houses for them, pay for their weddings, while daughters receive gifts when marrying, and just a bit of dowry. Visiting your daughter’s home is so much more comfortable. Why do some with daughters wish for sons instead? What kind of mindset is this?

Chu Molin couldn’t quite understand it, but he didn’t say anything, because everyone has different thoughts, and he couldn’t impose his ideas on others. By saying this to Li Zhao, he hoped Li Zhao would figure it out himself; otherwise, it wouldn’t help even if he talked more.
