Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1968: Chapter 1962: Forced to Relinquish Her Position

”Aunt Chen, how could it be? Li Zhao just loves An’an, that’s all. It’s normal for him not to want that.” Ou Keren saw that her words had an effect, and flashed a smile where Chen Lei couldn’t see.

”The wife came later, I am the one who gave birth to him.” Chen Lei thought about how Li Zhao was always running after An Hao these days and never cared about her. Thinking about An Hao’s behavior during her confinement period, Chen Lei felt even more dissatisfied with An Hao.

”Mom, what are you talking about? Of course, Zhaozi loves you. How could I dare compare myself to you, right?” An Hao saw Ou Keren’s smug smile and didn’t want her to succeed.

”Hmph, he wouldn’t dare.” Chen Lei’s expression finally improved a bit seeing An Hao appear so submissive, yet she couldn’t find her pleasant to look at from any angle.

Thinking of her friend’s words, An Hao seems to be such a frail woman, nearly dying just from childbirth. If she had to have another one, it would drive her crazy. Everyone was taking care of her yet she was still like that. Besides, with hips that flat, it’s hard to imagine her having a son. But if it were someone else, it would be different.

Right at that moment, Ou Keren passed in front of her. Seeing her hips and stature, Chen Lei’s eyes lit up. This one surely can have a son, so she immediately took her back home.

She claimed to have had a fight with her family and had nowhere to go, but the truth was Chen Lei had brought her back for Li Zhao to see.

Even if he didn’t want to divorce An Hao, it wouldn’t matter, as long as he was willing to have another child. And this child must be a boy.

”That’s certain; you, as an elder, he obviously loves you.” An Hao hadn’t expected this woman who had only been there for two days to be so scheming. Was she trying to break up their family?

”An’an, have you thought over what I said before? You need to hurry, or once the policy kicks in, you’ll want to have a child but won’t be able to.” Chen Lei, appeased by An Hao, brought up the matter again.

”Mom, I haven’t even been half a year since giving birth to Jing Yi. Not to mention the baby is still too young, my body hasn’t fully recovered yet. Getting pregnant again would not be good for the child, don’t you agree?” An Hao felt helpless, why insist so much on having a son? Aren’t daughters just as good?

”An’an, it’s not that I want to criticize you. You know Li Zhao is the only heir in our family. If there’s no son, our family line ends. If Jing Yi were a boy, I wouldn’t pressure you for a second child. But unfortunately, she’s a girl. Initially, I thought having a girl first wasn’t a big deal, as long as you had another in a couple of years.

But now there’s news they might implement the birth control policy, allowing only one child. That’s why I’m urging you. I’m doing this for your own good.” Chen Lei initially thought they’d have another child in a year or two, but now there was no choice.

”Mom, stop it, I don’t want to have another now. Let’s talk about it later.” An Hao was also getting angry. Every meeting seemed to be pushing her to have a son. What’s wrong with her daughter? Why the insistence on having a son? It’s not that she doesn’t want to, just that the child is still young and her body hasn’t recovered. It’s not suitable to get pregnant again. Why couldn’t her mother-in-law be more understanding?

”If you dare to leave, then go ahead. Give up your position. There are plenty of women who are willing to give us a son.” Seeing An Hao not listening to her, Chen Lei, who had just been calmed, exploded with anger, truly infuriated.
