Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1393: Chapter 1387: Meet Ye Xiao_1 Chapter 1393: Chapter 1387: Meet Ye Xiao_1 “If there’s no other business, you can leave first, I’ll talk to these young ones.” Ye Xiao began to usher the others out.

“Then we will leave, you carry on.” Qin Huaihe was the first to stand up. He wanted to spend more time with Qin Xue, but now was not the time, so after hearing Ye Xiao’s words, he expressed agreement.

“Boss, we’ll also leave then.” The other two also stood up to excuse themselves.

“Okay, we can discuss anything else later.” Ye Xiao thought at this moment, he should spend more time with his son and daughter-in-law, to see what brought them here, this was more important.

After the others left, Ye Xiao turned to look at the two children. Even though not much time had passed, he felt the children had grown a lot.

“Yu Ze, Yu Chen, can grandpa hug you?” Ye Xiao reached out to hold the children, but he asked for their opinions first.

“Okay.” Yu Ze crisply said a word.

“The little guy actually understands what Dad is saying.” Qin Xue, hearing her son’s response, bit Chu Molin’s ear.

“He’s sharp, you think he’s dumb?” Chu Molin knew his eldest son was very smart, having him stay naive and innocently silent was impossible. But the first person he spoke to wasn’t his own father, which irked Chu Molin somewhat.

“How could my son possibly be stupid.” Qin Xue glared at Chu Molin. If their son was stupid, she would definitely beat this man up first, blaming him for not choosing the right genes. She’d be kind not to beat him to death.

Qin Xue’s thought is somewhat unreasonable. This isn’t like medical procedures, one couldn’t choose superior genes to cultivate.

Speaking of medical procedures, in Qin Xue’s previous life in their hospital, there were many people who underwent in-vitro fertilization, having multiple births— usually two girls and one boy, or two boys and one girl.

There were also those who only wanted two children, twins of both genders. This way they could have a son and a daughter all at once, saving the trouble of another ten-month pregnancy.

Yet Qin Xue thought two was just right. Having three would be exhausting. Regardless of the mother’s condition during pregnancy or the family burden after the children were born, it would indeed be too heavy. She didn’t know how those families with quintuplets managed.

For Qin Xue, raising two was already taxing enough. If she had to bring up three or four, she believed she would go mad.

Qin Xue thought this because she had personally seen such cases. After one mom gave birth to quadruplets, their family finances couldn’t support the cost of baby formula for four children, let alone all other expenses. Even if they wanted their children to live better lives, it was impossible.

Therefore, they could only split the responsibilities. One parent cared for the children, while the other worked outside to support the family, yet the cost of baby formula was too high. To survive, they were forced to toil for their daily livelihood. If it was up to Qin Xue, she’d rather have two daughters, because daughters are less fussy and there’s no need to buy them a house when they get married. How wonderful!

But having a son is different. Not only would they need more money, they would also have to worry about building houses and buying cars in the future. Adding it all up, it would be a huge expense. For an ordinary family, it might be an impossible task.

Therefore, many people liken having a daughter to establishing a China Merchants Bank, while having a son feels like establishing a China Construction Bank, because the investment and returns are different. So in the later society, many people preferred having a daughter over a son. The ideology of male preference gradually changed. Because the gender ratio was severely skewed, many men couldn’t find wives and remained bachelors.
