“I might be behaving well, but you’re not.” Chu Molin laughed lightly. According to her, if he didn’t listen to her, he didn’t love her. Now that he was listening to her, he was being obedient. Women’s minds change so quickly.

“How am I not behaving well? I simply think it’s better for one person to die than for both of us.” Qin Xue blurted out quickly. As soon as she finished speaking, she regretted it. He was already worried about her going alone, and her words simply added to his anxiety.

“Chu Molin, I misspoke. What I meant to say was, I should go alone first to check the situation. If I can’t fix it, then you can go. I promise to come back as soon as I’m done, within at most a month. If we haven’t returned after a month, you can come looking for us.” Qin Xue quickly tried to correct her previous statement.

“Fine.” Despite his concern, Chu Molin didn’t press on the slip of Qin Xue’s tongue.

“Great, it’s settled then. I’ll take the child with me and leave him in H Province. My mother can help me care for him for a while. I genuinely don’t feel comfortable taking him with me.” Qin Xue had never planned to take the child with her. She had only said so to put their minds at ease.

“Fine, you can arrange that. But in that case, my mother-in-law probably won’t be able to work for a while.” Chu Molin knew his wife was doing this for their child’s wellbeing, so he had nothing to say about it.

Leaving the child with The Yues is better than leaving him with The Chus. The kids like being at their maternal grandparents’ house too. For them, it would be an ideal state.

“Thank you.” Qin Xue hugged Chu Molin, grateful that he didn’t insist she take the child back to The Chu’s household, and also for his support.

“Silly, you’re my wife. There’s no need for thanks.” Chu Molin lowered his head and landed a soft kiss on her forehead.

They both had jobs, so ideally, someone should be looking after their child. However, due to their unique family situation, things turned out this way. Regardless, Molin would support anything his wife wanted to do.

“Fair enough, I won’t thank you from now on. Don’t blame me for taking everything you do for me for granted at that time.” Qin Xue laughed coyly.

“Treating you well is something I should be doing. You just have to enjoy it.” Chu Molin had never expected anything in return for his kindness towards her.

Although Chu Moshuang knew that feelings should be mutual, he simply wanted to be kinder to her, even more. As for what she wanted to do, she was free to decide. Her happiness was more important than anything else.

“Fine.” Qin Xue agreed. But in her heart, she made a resolution. As long as Chu Molin continued to treat her as he always had, she would reciprocate equally. She didn’t believe in one-sided expressions of affection. She desired mutual love, which she believed made for a lasting relationship.

Some might say that Qin Xue’s demands are too high, that she’s expecting too much. But who doesn’t yearn for such deep feelings?

Just like a friend of hers from a past life. The first time her friend’s husband cheated on her, he still felt guilty and would try to make it up to her. But as it became a pattern, his guilt diminished, and he no longer feared being caught.

Her friend made a scene, she cried, but none of it made any difference. It frustrated Qin Xue that her friend felt useless and blamed herself for not being good enough, which she believed was why her husband sought comfort in other women.

However, her friend didn’t strive to improve herself or spend money on her own appearance. Instead, she spent it on her worthless husband, relieving him of any financial pressure, which then enabled him to pursue other women.
