Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 840: Chapter 834: Going to Take the Exam_1

Upon getting up, Qin Xue first checked the table, and indeed there was a note. After reading the note, she rummaged through the wardrobe and found a red jacket to wear over a grey sweater, paired with black jeans and black casual shoes. Her hair was tied into a bun, and after looking at herself in the mirror, and was pleased with her simple yet graceful reflection.

“Darling ones, be good at home with Xue Ling, okay? Mommy’s going to sit for her exams. Cheer for me and wish me success, won’t you?” Qin Xue kissed both of their faces after speaking.

“Xue Ling, I’ll prepare some food for you before I leave, alright? If I’m not back by midday, you go ahead and heat it up on your own. I don’t even know what I’ll be tested on and when I can return. If I get back too late, then Xue Ling might go hungry.”

“Sure, I understand. Go ahead, I want meat,” Xue Ling said. As a fox fairy, meat is its preferred sustenance.

“I know, probably only I can afford to feed you. Nobody else could manage it.” Qin Xue took a quick glance at Xue Ling, who was a picky eater, always selecting the best food.

“Master, you can’t just see this side of me. You ought to look at what value I bring, what kind of advantages I can provide, right?” Xue Ling said smugly.

...
“Well, that’s true. If not, it would be really difficult to sustain you.” Qin Xue replied, laughing. While she said this to Xue Ling, she actually thought differently. Regardless of whether Xue Ling helped her or not, she could still afford this spiritual pet.

If she couldn’t even afford to keep a pet, there was no reason for her to exist in this world!

Once breakfast was served, Qin Xue didn’t waste any more time. She quickly finished her meal, gave Xue Ling a few instructions, picked up her bag and left. Fortunately, she and Chu Molin had visited the exam location the day before; otherwise, she would’ve been completely oblivious.

Through her hustle and bustle, Qin Xue managed to reach on time for the examination. Looking upon the flashy big golden characters: People’s Hospital, she straightened her clothes and stepped inside.

“Hello, I’m Qin Xue, here to take the examination. Could you tell me where to go, please?” Despite her confusion about why she was to take the examination in a hospital, since Chu Molin had brought her here, she decided to go along. All she wanted was to take the exam and do what she wanted to do.

“You’re here for the exam? Please sign in first, then go and find the hospital director.” The guard handed Qin Xue a registry book to fill in.

After quickly filling it out, she handed it back, headed inside, and knocked on the director’s office door, as instructed.

“Come in,” came the voice of the director after he heard the knock at the door.

“Hello, may I ask if you’re the director?” Qin Xue asked the middle-aged man, who looked about fifty, sitting behind the desk.

“I am the director, Gong Yuliang. What can I do for you?” Gong Yuliang looked up at Qin Xue.

“Hello, Director Gong. I received a notice to take an examination. I am Qin Xue. Could you please inform me about the examination process?”

“You’re Qin Xue?” Gong Wuyou asked, assessing Qin Xue. Was this the person Ye Xuan had specifically called him about? She seemed young. How capable was she?

“Yes, I am Qin Xue,” responded Qin Xue while standing there, allowing Gong Yuliang to assess her.

“Could you wait a moment? I need to finish these documents then I’ll take you there,” Gong Yuliang glanced at the documents he was holding – he needed to sign these as a matter of urgency, so Qin Xue would need to wait.

“Sure, please go ahead with your work, I will wait,” responded Qin Xue, quite okay with a little wait.
