I'm Not Afraid of My Wife Being 30 Years Old, I'm Afraid of Her Knowing Everything

39: I am a hero, you are an angel. After Shen Zhi took the initiative to kiss Jiang Hao, she quickly moved to the little girl’s side.

She instructed the onlookers—the elderly men and women—to step back a bit to ensure air circulation, and then began performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the little girl.

Shen Zhi’s movements were extremely skilled; one could tell at a glance that she had undergone professional training and was not a reckless novice.

However, it made sense when one thought about it.

Given Shen Zhi’s personality, she wouldn’t do something unless she was one hundred percent certain.

It was just like Jiang Hao jumping into the lake to save the girl just now.

He wouldn’t joke around with his own life.

A small group of the elderly people nearby were questioning Shen Zhi:

”This young girl looks like a high schooler. Does she really know how to do mouth-to-mouth?”

”Saving a life is a big deal. If something goes wrong, this girl will be in trouble.”

”Who can say for sure? But if this little girl doesn’t get CPR soon, I’m afraid she really won’t make it.”

”Do you know how to do mouth-to-mouth?”

”I don’t.”

”If you don’t know, then shut up and stop complaining. If you’re so capable, why don’t you step up? Really...”

If anyone on the scene was the most nervous, it was the little girl’s grandmother.

She knelt by the little girl, tears streaming down her face, but she didn’t dare make a sound and had to force herself to endure. Her voice trembled as she spoke to Shen Zhi:

”Young girl, I beg you, you must save my granddaughter. As long as you can save her, I’ll work like an ox or a horse for you. I beg you...”

Shen Zhi ignored the grandmother and rhythmically pressed the little girl’s chest, performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Jiang Hao didn’t know how to perform CPR and didn’t dare to rashly step forward and cause trouble, but he was very curious at this moment:

”This Little Lass actually knows a life-saving skill like CPR. Where did she learn it?”

It was a critical moment for saving a life, so Jiang Hao wouldn’t speak up to ask.

He just stood not far away, ready to help Shen Zhi at any time.

Time passed minute by minute.

More and more people gathered to watch, and many young people were filming constantly with their phones.

But everyone remained silent, staying quiet for fear of disturbing Shen Zhi while she was saving the girl.

Despite Shen Zhi’s continuous efforts, the little girl showed no signs of waking up.

Many people showed looks of regret, realizing that the little girl might not be brought back.

The little girl’s grandmother, in particular, felt her heart sinking into an abyss as she prayed incessantly in her mind.

”God bless her, God bless her...”

However, just when everyone had given up hope.

Under Shen Zhi’s persistent efforts.

The unconscious little girl’s body suddenly jerked, her head tilted as she coughed up a mouthful of lake water, and then she slowly opened her eyes.

Seeing that the little girl had actually woken up, the onlookers all breathed a sigh of relief:

”She’s alive! She’s really alive! This young girl actually saved the little girl.”

”This young girl is amazing. This little girl must have accumulated great merit in her past life to meet her.”

”Don’t forget that young man too. If he hadn’t jumped into the lake to save her, this little girl would be gone.”

”Yes, yes. This young girl and that young man must be a couple. They are a match made in heaven. Wonderful.”

The grandmother, whose heart had fallen into an abyss, saw her granddaughter finally wake up and was so excited she couldn’t speak clearly.

After a long while, she finally grabbed her granddaughter’s hand and cried out:

”Lele, you scared Grandma to death. If anything happened to you, Grandma really wouldn’t want to live anymore.”

Shen Zhi quickly tried to calm the emotional grandmother:

”Grandma, don’t move her yet. She’s at her weakest right now. Let her lie still and wait for the ambulance to arrive.”

The old woman nodded repeatedly and then knelt directly in front of Shen Zhi:

”Young girl, this old woman thanks you. If it weren’t for you, my granddaughter would be gone today.”

She then turned toward Jiang Hao and gave him a heavy kowtow:

”Young man, this old woman also thanks you for risking your life to jump into the lake to save my granddaughter. This kindness is something I will never forget in this lifetime.”

Although it was indeed he and Shen Zhi who had saved her granddaughter.

The woman was in her fifties; Jiang Hao couldn’t accept such a gesture and quickly helped the grandmother up:

”Grandma, please get up. We only did what little we could. It was no trouble at all, really.”

Just then.

A middle-aged beautiful woman wearing slacks and a shirt, with her hair tied back and wearing small leather shoes, appeared. She looked extremely capable.

She ran toward them in a frantic rush, shouting as she ran:

”Lele, my Lele! How are you? Please don’t let anything happen to you. If something happens to you, Mommy won’t want to live either!”

Seeing this, the onlookers realized this woman must be the little girl’s mother and made way for her.

When the beautiful woman ran over and saw the little girl lying on the ground, she burst into tears with a ”wa” sound.

”Lele, you... how are you? Are you okay? Don’t scare Mommy!”

As she reached out to hug the little girl, Jiang Hao stopped her in time:

”Lele’s Mother, don’t be anxious. Lele has already woken up, but she’s very weak right now. You must not move her. The ambulance should be here soon. We have to wait for the doctor to check her before she can be moved, do you understand?”

Hearing this, Lele’s Mother Ning Ya quickly placed a finger near the little girl’s nose. Sensing that faint breath, she breathed a sigh of relief and wept with joy:

”As long as she’s okay, as long as she’s okay.”

When she saw the soaking wet Jiang Hao and Shen Zhi standing nearby, she asked:

”And you are?”

The grandmother on the side quickly said:

”Xiao Ya, it was this young man and young lady who saved Lele. Otherwise, Lele might have...”

Upon hearing this.

The middle-aged beautiful woman wiped away her tears, stood up, and bowed deeply to Jiang Hao and Shen Zhi, her expression full of gratitude:

”Young man, young lady, thank you so much today. Lele’s survival is all thanks to the two of you. You are like her second parents. I, Ning Ya, will never forget this kindness for the rest of my life...”

The middle-aged beautiful woman kept thanking Jiang Hao and Shen Zhi, making them feel quite embarrassed.

Not long after.

An ambulance and several patrol officers arrived one after another.

After the doctor checked the little girl’s condition, he spoke seriously to the middle-aged woman and Jiang Hao’s group:

”The little girl inhaled a lot of water, and her lungs are likely damaged. We must treat her as soon as possible. Fortunately, your timely rescue brought her around. If not, the consequences would have been unthinkable.”

After the doctor finished speaking, he immediately instructed the nurses to lift the little girl onto the ambulance.

The nervous middle-aged woman and the grandmother also followed onto the ambulance.

The patrol officers asked Jiang Hao and Shen Zhi about the situation and then gave them a thumbs up:

”You two did a great job. You are good role models for our young people to learn from.”

The people around also clapped and cheered for Jiang Hao and Shen Zhi.

Jiang Hao kept saying, ”Thank you everyone, it was only right.”

Shen Zhi looked at Jiang Hao, whose clothes were dripping with water, and quickly said:

”Brother Hao, your clothes are soaked through. Hurry to the car and change. Don’t catch a cold.”

Even though it was summer and the temperature was high, having soaking wet clothes was truly uncomfortable.

”I have clothes in the car. Let’s go, time to change.”

On the way to change, Shen Zhi looked at Jiang Hao with admiration:

”Brother Hao, do you know? When you jumped into the lake just now and saved that little girl, you were a super hero. I really admire you.”

Jiang Hao smiled slightly:

”If I am a hero, then you are an angel—a beautiful and lovely little angel who saved a life.”
