I'm Not Afraid of My Wife Being 30 Years Old, I'm Afraid of Her Knowing Everything

29: Little brother, I can drink cold drinks!Jiang Hao didn’t blame Shen Zhi for this.

She was just a little fledgling, single since birth for over a decade; she didn’t know the first thing about romance.

Jiang Hao patiently told Shen Zhi:

”I know your aunt has a car, but have you ever thought about what would happen if she needed it for something one day and we happened to be going out on a date? We can’t exactly ask her to give up the car for us, right?”

Jiang Hao went on for quite a bit.

But Shen Zhi was particularly fixated on the word ”date,” her heart leaping into her throat.

”Brother Hao actually said he wants to go on a date with me. Does that mean he thinks of me as his girlfriend? It’s so sudden, I’m not prepared at all. I’m so happy, so joyful...”

[You mentioned the word ’date’ in your conversation. Shen Zhi took it seriously, and her favorability toward you has increased. Intimacy +3. Current total intimacy: 54 points. You have received a cash reward of 180,000 yuan (can be withdrawn at any time).]

Huh?

Seeing the prompt, Jiang Hao was stunned.

”I was just using it as an analogy, but she actually took it seriously. Is this Little Lass that desperate for love? She’s way too much of a love-brain!”

On the screen, a bashful Shen Zhi said to Jiang Hao:

”I haven’t even agreed to be your girlfriend yet, so I’m not going on a date with you...”

Well then.

She really did take it seriously.

Jiang Hao didn’t know if this was a good or bad thing.

”I just want to pick up girls, not be in a relationship. Dammit, I’ve played myself. How awkward!”

Just then.

A woman’s voice came from the video:

”Xiao Zhi, who are you video calling with?”

It was the voice of Shen Zhi’s aunt, Shen Ping.

Shen Zhi was currently daydreaming about a beautiful future romance, with all sorts of lovely images flashing through her mind.

Going to the library to read with Jiang Hao, eating together in the cafeteria, strolling through the school park, binge-watching shows... The more she thought about it, the sweeter she felt. Her lips curled into a smile as she became completely lost in her romantic fantasies, not even noticing Shen Ping approaching.

She subconsciously said to Jiang Hao on the screen:

”Brother Hao, are you really willing to let me be your...”

Jiang Hao noticed Shen Ping approaching through the camera and hurriedly warned the infatuated Shen Zhi.

”Shen Zhi, your aunt is back. She just asked you something. What are you dazing off for?”

Interrupted by Jiang Hao, Shen Zhi let out an ”Ah!” and looked back. She quickly stood up, looking embarrassed:

”Auntie, you’re... you’re back.”

Seeing Shen Zhi’s flushed face and embarrassed look, Shen Ping was about to ask what was going on.

She glanced over and saw Jiang Hao on the video call, instantly understanding the situation.

”This little girl is actually video calling Jiang Hao in secret. No wonder her face is so red.”

Shen Ping didn’t ask further out of consideration for Shen Zhi’s pride.

She stepped in front of the camera and said to Jiang Hao with a smile:

”Oh, it’s Xiao Hao. Aren’t you working today?”

Jiang Hao waved at Shen Ping through the camera:

”Hello, Boss Lady. I resigned a few days ago, so I’m not working today. I’m at a 4S dealership picking out a car, and I was just telling Shen Zhi about it.”

Hearing that Jiang Hao was buying a car, Shen Ping couldn’t help but feel curious:

”Why are you buying a car all of a sudden? If you need a car, just tell me. Mine is gathering dust in the garage; you can take it whenever you want.”

Shen Zhi suddenly added from the side:

”Auntie, Brother Hao said it would be inconvenient to go out with me tomorrow without a car, so... so he went to buy one today.”

Shen Zhi’s eyes were filled with happiness as she spoke, clearly having believed Jiang Hao’s excuse.

Seeing Shen Zhi’s expression, Shen Ping knew her niece had been hoodwinked.

”This girl is great in every way, but she’s such a love-brain. Luckily it’s Jiang Hao; otherwise, she would’ve been taken for a ride.”

Having been in the real world for so many years, Shen Ping naturally didn’t believe Jiang Hao’s explanation.

But she certainly wouldn’t point it out; doing so would only offend people.

”That’s very thoughtful of you, Xiao Hao. I’m relieved to have Xiao Zhi go out with you. Have you two decided where to go tomorrow?”

Where to go?

Jiang Hao hadn’t prepared at all.

Fortunately, Shen Zhi spoke up again:

”Auntie, I want to go to the zoo to see the giant pandas tomorrow. If there’s enough time, I’d also like to go to Jiangyan. I heard the scenery there is wonderful, and I want to see it.”

Well.

Creatures like pandas.

No girl can resist them.

Jiang Hao didn’t have any objections.

Instead, it was Shen Ping who offered a suggestion:

”Xiao Zhi, that schedule is a bit tight. You’ll have to get up early tomorrow, or you won’t make it in time.”

Jiang Hao chimed in:

”Shen Zhi and I can discuss it further tonight and see what the final decision is.”

Shen Zhi echoed him:

”Mhm, I’ll listen to Brother Hao’s ideas then. We’ll go wherever he wants.”

Shen Ping gave Shen Zhi and Jiang Hao a meaningful look and smiled:

”You two decide for yourselves. I won’t meddle. I’ll go get busy now; you two carry on.”

With Shen Ping’s interruption, the conversation couldn’t really continue.

Jiang Hao and Shen Zhi chatted for a few more minutes before ending the video call.

Putting down his phone, Jiang Hao felt a bit of a headache thinking about Shen Zhi’s reaction:

”If I actually date this Little Lass, wouldn’t we have to be stuck together every day? How am I supposed to pick up other girls then? I’m doomed!”

Suddenly, the sound of ”rumble, rumble” thunder echoed in his ears.

Jiang Hao went to the window and looked at the sky covered in dark clouds, raising an eyebrow:

”Looks like a thunderstorm is coming!”

Over ten minutes later.

Accompanied by streaks of lightning, the thunderstorm arrived as expected.

The thunderstorm lasted until past five in the afternoon before gradually subsiding.

Xiao Mi came into the lounge and placed a document folder in front of Jiang Hao:

”Little Brother, the title transfer process for the car is complete. All the paperwork is in this folder, and the car is now in your name. Please go to the delivery area for a quick handover ceremony later, and then you can drive it away.”

Looking at Xiao Mi, whose forehead was beaded with sweat from the busy work, Jiang Hao told her:

”Sister Mi, thanks for your hard work today. It’s just about time to get off work. Are you free tonight? Let’s have dinner together. Of course, I won’t forget your red envelope; I’m a man of my word.”

Jiang Hao opened his phone and sent Xiao Mi a large red envelope of 18,888 yuan.

Xiao Mi didn’t open the red envelope to check the amount.

Facing Jiang Hao’s invitation, she smiled and readily agreed:

”How can I refuse when my little brother invites me to dinner?”

Jiang Hao didn’t expect Xiao Mi to agree so quickly. He was a bit surprised, thinking she might refuse with an excuse like going home to be with her kids.

”In that case, Sister Mi, you decide what and where to eat. Don’t worry about saving me money. Let me know once you’ve decided, and we can take the new car to dinner.”

Xiao Mi brushed away a few strands of hair stuck to her forehead with sweat, her movements charming and elegant.

”Anywhere is fine; I’m not picky.”

She suddenly leaned forward and whispered in Jiang Hao’s ear:

”Little Brother, I can drink cold drinks today.”

After saying that, she gave Jiang Hao a flirtatious smile:

”Wait for me a moment. I’ll come find you after I finish today’s work summary. See you in a bit.”

Xiao Mi left the room.

Looking at her curvaceous S-shaped figure, Jiang Hao took a deep breath:

”Can drink cold drinks? Hiss, does that mean there’s a bonus tonight? I’m really looking forward to it!”
