All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 48 The Elemental VeilZhou Zheng knew clearly in his heart.

If the divine thought projection beneath his cloak revealed any characteristics of an Orc race, even a trace of beastly aura, it would almost certainly confirm his identity as coming from the Orc God System!

At that point, what awaited him would likely not be a trade.

Feeling the ”inadvertent” positioning of the two Elemental Deities beside him, which subtly blocked his path, Zhou Zheng suddenly chuckled.

He said in a relaxed tone, ”No matter. Since this friend is so generous, I would also like to get to know you. Making friends is exactly what I wish for.”

As he spoke, he slowly raised his hand and placed it on the edge of his cloak’s hood.

The attention of the Water Elemental Deity and the Earth Elemental Deity became highly focused in an instant; even the elemental energy flowing around them showed an extremely subtle stagnation, as if they were holding their breath.

The hood was gently removed.

However, what was exposed to the perception of the two Elemental Deities was not any beast head or scales as expected, but a... blurry humanoid elemental form composed of interwoven and entangled pale blue water currents and wisps of cyan whirlwinds!

This was exactly the effect of the one-time divine art [Elemental Veil], which Zhou Zheng had previously exchanged for using a B-rank voucher from the exclusive Rainbow Plane store.

Although it could only last for a month and could not change his essence as a deity, it was just right for dealing with this kind of situation where he needed to ”verify his identity”!

”...How is it? Is there that smell of blood from an Orc or the Death Qi of an undead?” The Earth Elemental Deity transmitted a Divine Thought extremely subtly to the Water Elemental Deity.

The Water Elemental Deity’s perception scanned Zhou Zheng’s disguised elemental body carefully and it replied, ”No. Its Water element aura is very pure, not like something branded on in a short time.”

”Although the Wind element feels relatively new and the Fusion with the Water element is not perfect, it is indeed supported by power of the same source; there is no feeling of mixed foreign Bloodline.”

The Earth Elemental Deity, somewhat unwillingly, secretly investigated a few more times with his Divine Thought, but he could truly find no flaws, and in the end, he could only give up.

His rock-formed face squeezed out a ”simple and honest” smile that looked more like cracks in a stone seam, and he said in a muffled voice, ”Good! Straightforward! I’ll make friends with you!”

The subsequent trading process clearly became somewhat perfunctory and rushed.

The Water Elemental Deity no longer actively negotiated, and the Earth Elemental Deity also readily paid the previously agreed-upon faith points and a fist-sized gemstone containing pure Earth element power, completing the Spice transaction.

Both sides seemed to have lost interest in further communication.

Zhou Zheng saw through it but did not point it out; he collected his payment, politely said goodbye, and left.

Walking out of the Rainbow Hall, he did not immediately return to his lodging, but instead strolled in front of the other deity stalls in the Plane plaza.

Soon, he found a few stalls purchasing elemental Materials and quietly exchanged the intact Earth element gemstone for several smaller, fragmented elemental gemstones with different attributes.

Only then did he quietly fade into the flowing radiance of the Plane and return to his own divine domain.

...

The moment the rainbow staircase spanning the sky solidified and appeared, the ticket in Zhou Zheng’s possession suddenly became hot, turning into a soft seven-colored stream of light that enveloped him.

The next moment, he was already standing on a huge staircase so wide that he could not see its edge.

Beneath his feet was a flowing, gorgeous band of light, yet the touch was incredibly solid.

The surroundings were vast and empty, with only the seven staircases of different colors, towering like portals, lined up in front of him, emitting completely different elemental fluctuations.

Crimson like fire, azure like water, cyan for wind, brownish-yellow for earth, emerald green for wood, bright gold for metal, and deep purple containing thunder.

At that same time, above the largest plaza of the Rainbow Plane, countless streams of light and water mirrors appeared out of thin air, clearly reflecting the figures of every challenger on the staircase.

Sounds of noise, discussion, and betting instantly boiled over!

”Look! It’s the Azure Wood Deity! She really came!”

”I heard she just returned from some mage ruin and has a deeper understanding of elemental micro-manipulation!”

”I bet she can reach at least level five hundred!”

Zhou Zheng was completely unaware of all this.

His entire focus was already drawn to the seven staircase-like elemental portals before him.

The rules of the Secret Realm separated each challenger into an independent trial space; he could not see other competitors and could only feel the pure and majestic pressure of the elemental Law permeating the air.

Without hesitation, he stepped onto the azure-colored staircase representing ”Water”.
