All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 14 The Path of Race and GodhoodAs the Divine Thought politely declining the Lion God’s invitation to explore the plane dissipated into the Void Realm, the prickly sensation of being ’kindly’ locked onto by a powerful existence deep within Zhou Zheng’s Divine Thought slowly faded away.

Kindness?

Perhaps there was some.

But the massive gap in strength between Snakemen and Lionmen cast an unspeakable shadow over any seemingly equal ’cooperation’.

What the Lion God needed were lackeys to scout the way, not allies to share the spoils. Zhou Zheng knew his wings were not yet full; in this God System where the weak were prey to the strong, caution was far more important than momentary greed.

He would rather be a bit slower and steadier than become a disposable pawn on someone else’s chessboard.

One’s own development was the Foundation. He calmed his mind, continuing to organize the conditions required for the Feathered Serpent’s evolution path and planning the methods for acquiring resources.

Time slipped quietly by amidst the eternal heat of the desert and the vigorous vitality of the oasis.

A familiar Divine Thought, carrying the majestic summons of the Royal Court, once again pierced through the Divine Realm’s barrier.

The Decennial Assembly of the Orc Royal Court!

Zhou Zheng’s divine thought projection, carrying a small bag of newly collected spices, descended once again into that familiar Myriad Beast Jungle Plane, which was permeated with the scent of the Law of the jungle.

The plane remained the same, with its towering ancient trees and primal Aura.

However, when Zhou Zheng cast his gaze toward the black stone platform in the center of the plane—the symbol of authority—he couldn’t help but be slightly stunned.

Standing in the center of the stone platform was not the aggressively imposing Lion God or Tiger God as expected, nor was it that shrewd Fox God.

Instead, it was a divine thought projection of a deity with a slightly hunched figure, covered in thick, curly white wool, and possessing massive horns curved into a gentle arc—the Sheep God!

A Farming God was actually presiding over the Decennial Assembly of the Royal Court?!

This abnormal phenomenon caused the entire plane to be shrouded in a layer of strange silence.

Whether it was the representatives of the Hunting Gods like the fierce Lion God, Tiger God, and Wolf God in the central area, or the Farming Gods like the Ox God and Rabbit God with relatively mild Auras on the periphery, they all put away their usual clamor or timidity, their gazes collectively focusing on the Sheep God atop the stone platform.

The air was filled with a rare, rapt solemnity.

Because the topic the Sheep God was about to discuss ignited the deepest desires within all the new deities—how to promote from a Reserve Deity (Level 0) to a Formal Deity (Level 1)!

The Sheep God’s gentle and elderly voice, sounding like wisdom distilled through the ages, echoed clearly throughout the plane: ”Fellow clansmen, today, I shall convey the will of the Royal Court and share the cornerstones of this path to promotion.”

”To promote to a Formal Deity, regardless of the God System, one must satisfy three Iron Laws!”

He extended a wool-covered finger, and with every point he made, a light representing a rule lit up at his fingertip:

1. Base of Faith: Accumulate Power Of Faith; the total must reach one hundred million points! This is the fuel for the divine fire and the fundamental basis for the Divine Kingdom’s operation!

2. Wishes of the Masses: Possess devout believers; their number must exceed ten thousand! Believers are the source of faith and the bedrock of a deity’s existence!

3. Key of Law: The depth of comprehension of at least one Law must reach the realm of Perfection (100%)! This is the critical key to igniting the divine fire and crossing the boundary between mortal and god!

The Sheep God’s voice carried a peacefulness that saw through to the essence of things: ”The first two points—accumulating faith and multiplying believers—are matters of slow, steady work; they are where a deity’s Foundation lies.”

”The greater the quantity, the thicker the accumulation, and the greater the certainty during promotion. This third point—Law comprehension—is the core that distinguishes the paths of different God Systems and determines the essence of a deity’s power!”

His gaze swept over the various Orc deities below: ”For instance, the Elemental God System comprehends the elemental rhythms of water, fire, wind, and thunder; the Profession God System delves into the martial prowess of warriors or the mysteries of mages. But our Orc God System, with its ten-thousand-year Legacy, follows the path of the Racial Divine Path!”

”Racial Divine Path?” many deities whispered, their eyes burning with fervor.

”Exactly!” the Sheep God’s voice carried a hint of pride. ”Comprehending the races we represent!”

”Comprehending the miracle of their birth, the resilience of their growth, the instincts of their combat, and even... the destination of their Death!”

A Lion God should understand the Lion’s Heart; a Snake God should master the Snake’s Nature...”
