All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 31 First Battle Against Calamity”Hiss—!!”

”Li—!!”

The highest alert was instantly sounded within the Oasis!

Serpent-man Warriors gripped their poison-tipped bone spears and scimitars polished from Demon Octopus bone spurs, their cold vertical pupils locked onto the massive entity in the distance.

Eagle-men Hunters quickly took to the sky, circling at a safe altitude, their sharp gazes like falcons locking onto prey.

Combat commands were instantly relayed through the feathered serpent totem!

”Eagle-men! Dive and harass! Target—the top of the flower bud!” the Serpent-person Leader hissed sharply.

”Li—!” Receiving the order, the Eagle-men Hunters let out sharp cries, flapped their wings, and dove down from the high altitude like arrows released from a bowstring!

They didn’t attack directly; instead, as they dove over the Man-eating Flower, they fiercely hurled pre-prepared burning grass balls tied with heavy stones!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The burning grass balls smashed against the giant purple-black flower bud and thick vines, sending sparks flying everywhere!

Although they couldn’t cause fatal damage, the burning fire and the impact instantly enraged this Abyssal Demonic Creature!

”Roar—!”

A dull, thunderous roar emerged from deep within the flower bud. Several giant vines, like furious giant pythons, whipped toward the Eagle-men in the sky with a whistle that tore through the air!

Relying on their superb flying skills and the initial speed from their dive, the Eagle-men threaded through the gaps between the vines and pulled up in a series of hair-raising, perilous maneuvers!

Their mission was to draw fire and create chaos!

”Serpent-men! Poison mist cover! Stealth Team! Go!” the Serpent-person Leader ordered again, seizing the opportunity.

The already prepared Serpent-man Priests and Shamans pressed their hands against the ground, chanting ancient prayers.

The Blood Patterns on their bodies shimmered, drawing the thin water vapor in the Divine Realm and mixing it with their own secreted paralyzing venom. This formed a dense, grey-green poison mist with a sickly sweet scent in front of the Serpent-man Warriors, which rapidly spread toward the Man-eating Flower!

The poison mist enveloped the lower vines of the Man-eating Flower. Although it couldn’t corrode the tough skin, the strong paralyzing and hallucinogenic effects caused some vines to become visibly sluggish and confused, their swinging trajectories losing accuracy!

”Now is the time!”

A sharp light exploded in the Serpent-person Leader’s eyes!

He personally led a team of the most elite Serpent-man Warriors, those best at stealth and explosive power. Like shadows merging into the sand and aided by the cover of the poison mist, they dashed toward the main stem of the Man-eating Flower at incredible speed, staying close to the scorching sand!

Their target was clear—the relatively fragile neck connecting the giant flower bud to the root system!

The Man-eating Flower also seemed to sense a fatal threat. Several vines not fully affected by the poison mist frantically retreated to defend, sweeping across the ground like giant whips!

”Scatter!” the Serpent-person Leader roared.

The elite Serpent-man Warriors instantly dispersed. Utilizing the unique flexibility and explosive power of serpents, they rolled or leaped, narrowly avoiding the lethal lashes of the vines! Deep grooves were whipped into the sand!

Two of the warriors were grazed by the vines; their sturdy scales instantly shattered, and they were sent flying, coughing up blood.

But more warriors, in the moment their companions bought with their lives, reached the base of the Man-eating Flower’s thick main stem!

”Attack!”

The Serpent-person Leader bellowed, his poison-tipped Demon Octopus bone spur scimitar stabbing fiercely into the relatively soft junction of the flower’s neck!

The other warriors also fearlessly hacked with bone spears and stone axes, some even tearing at it with all their strength using their teeth!

Puchi! Chila!

Tough plant fibers were torn apart! Corrosive sap sprayed out, burning the serpent-men’s scales with a ’sizzle’ and bringing intense pain.

But not a single warrior retreated!

Their eyes burned with fanatical faith in their deity and the resolve to protect their home!

”Hiss-ang—!”

Circling in the sky, the Feathered Serpent Totem Spirit sensed the struggle and sacrifice of its followers and let out a heaven-shaking hiss!

A beam of cyan-gold light descended from the sky, enveloping the Serpent-person Leader and the other primary attackers! Their strength and speed were instantly augmented! Their attacks became even more fierce!

Finally!

Kacha—! A massive, ear-grating sound of tearing rang out!

Under the fearless concentrated attack of the Serpent-man Warriors and the blessing of the feathered serpent totem, more than half of the Man-eating Flower’s thick neck was forcibly severed!
