Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

167: Chapter 167 Maritime DeploymentSince this skull was able to evade the eyes of the Main God, it must have cost the Creator a great deal of effort to complete.

Lin Sheng was not yet a true Golden Immortal, after all; it was nearly impossible for him to undo the skull’s seal.

Lin Sheng wasn’t a stubborn mule either. After several fruitless attempts, he tossed the skull into the counter and ignored it.

”Watch the shop. I’m going out for a walk.”

Lin Sheng gave Rona instructions and then slowly walked out of the shop.

...

”Eat, eat.”

”Bring chaos to this world so that I may better spread the Lord’s radiance.”

In a certain uninhabited area of the deep sea, a middle-aged man in red was using some unknown flesh as bait.

Surrounding the man in red were all sorts of strange-looking creatures.

These creatures were translucent as a whole, their bodies filled with water elements.

In the terms of this world, these creatures were Water Elementals.

The middle-aged man dropped a piece of flesh entwined with Divine Runes into the water; the moment it touched the water, it dissolved instantly.

Those Water Elementals surrounded the spot where the flesh had dissolved almost simultaneously, their bodies spreading out like nets to devour as much of the water containing the dissolved flesh as possible.

After devouring the dissolved flesh, many Water Elementals left this sea area.

Some merged into the clouds, turning into dark clouds; some dissolved into the seawater to be swallowed by exotic sea beasts; and others flowed to land water sources, dissolving directly into the residents’ drinking water.

After scattering all the ’bait,’ the middle-aged man put away the wooden box. Then, Divine Runes flowed before him, and his figure vanished from this sea area in the next instant.

...

Lin Sheng strolled around the streets several times; he was basically familiar with all the shops near his house now.

”Mr... Mr. Lin, ple... please, please give this to Rona.”

Lin Sheng had just walked up to a flower shop when he was blocked by a female elf.

Lin Sheng turned his head to look.

According to the age standards of the elf race, the elf before him should be considered a young girl.

And indeed, this elf was a standard young girl in both appearance and voice.

Regarding the elven girl’s looks, by Lin Sheng’s aesthetic standards when he was human, she was indeed quite pretty.

Even by Lin Sheng’s current aesthetic standards as an exotic beast, the elven girl was very good.

After all, this girl could slightly pique Lin Sheng’s appetite.

...

Pulling back his wandering thoughts, Lin Sheng took the bouquet of flowers handed over by the elven girl, as well as the envelope behind the flowers that looked like a love letter.

He didn’t know how this elven girl had taken a liking to Rona, but Lin Sheng wouldn’t pry into emotional matters; he would only respect both parties’ choices.

After Lin Sheng took the flowers and the love letter, the elven girl breathed a sigh of relief.

After thanking Lin Sheng, she hurriedly returned to the shop.

This flower shop was run by her mother. The girl’s mother must have heard some rumors; for some reason, Lin Sheng always felt that the other woman seemed to have a prejudice against him.

Because of this, the elven girl returned to the flower shop in such a hurry.

She was afraid of being seen interacting with Lin Sheng by her mother.

Since walking down the street with a bouquet of flowers was inconvenient, Lin Sheng simply put both the flowers and the love letter away.

Just as he put these two things away, he turned and saw a young elven woman walking over from not far away.

This young woman was the girl’s mother. Due to the long lifespan of the elf race, the girl’s mother still had the appearance of a young adult.

At this moment, the elven mother also noticed Lin Sheng standing at the shop entrance. Seeing that he had no intention of leaving, and thinking about the rumors regarding Lin Sheng she had heard from the meat-seller auntie, the elven mother could only bite the bullet and greet him.

”Hel... Hello, Mr. Lin.”

A smile tugged at the corners of her mouth, though it appeared somewhat forced.

”Hello.”

”Please pack these flowers and deliver them to my shop.”

”In the future, if you can still get these flowers, you can save some for me.”

Lin Sheng pointed to several peculiar-looking flowers in front of him and spoke.

Hearing that Lin Sheng wanted to purchase these types of flowers long-term, the elven mother’s heart instantly sank to the bottom.

She originally intended never to sell these flowers again, but pressured by the artistically embellished rumors from the meat-seller auntie, the elven mother didn’t quite dare to do so.

”Sigh.”

She sighed in her heart.

She would just take it one step at a time; what if that old meat-selling sister was lying to her?

Comforting herself like this, the elven mother had already finished packing the bouquets Lin Sheng had chosen.

Watching Lin Sheng’s receding back, the elven mother decided to wait for her spouse to return before delivering the flowers to Lin Sheng.

”Daughter, what do you think we should do?”

”How about we wait for your father to come back? Your father is, after all, a Rank 4 Extraordinary powerhouse. Even if the rumors are true, I believe your father will be fine, right?”

The elven mother recounted what had just happened to the elven girl. Her intention was to emphasize Lin Sheng’s danger so the girl would stay away from him in the future.

However, after the girl filtered her mother’s words, only ’go to Rona’s place’ and ’deliver flowers’ remained in her mind.

The girl was a bit dazed and unconsciously muttered a phrase:

”I’ll go!”

”Hmm? Yisa, what did you say?”

The elven mother looked at the elven girl, her eyes full of warning.

...

”Auntie, pack these pieces of meat for me.”

Lin Sheng pointed at several pieces of meat on the stall, signaling the auntie to pack them for him.

The auntie naturally dared not neglect Lin Sheng’s request. She hurriedly wrapped the meat according to his instructions and respectfully handed it to him.

Lin Sheng intended to pay, but the auntie didn’t dare to accept it.

In response, Lin Sheng didn’t insist on paying. Anyway, for some reason, this auntie had been badmouthing him to others.

Taking this meat could be considered compensation for being constantly badmouthed by her.

Lin Sheng thought to himself.

He knew the auntie had been spreading negative comments about him, but she didn’t seem to be deliberately trying to smear him. Therefore, Lin Sheng never really cared about the things she spread outside.

”Take care, Young Master Ye.”

Watching Lin Sheng’s back as he left with the meat, the auntie silently wiped away the cold sweat that had unknowingly beaded on her forehead.

She knew that Lin Sheng’s house had no tools for starting a fire to cook. The meat she sold was all fresh; a normal person would wash away the blood and cook it before eating.

But Lin Sheng...

He came to buy (take) meat almost every day, yet the auntie had never heard any sounds of cooking from his place.

The most terrifying thing was that when the auntie asked, Lin Sheng could accurately describe the texture of the raw flesh.
